Mr Boddy, those are lovely!
Yes, I'm using Blender, but I use a separate meshing program for UVmapping and smoothing, which the trial has run out.

Eh? I'm fairly certain that you can both UVmap and smooth in Blender (in fact, I'm positive of it). Why are you using a separate programme for this? Do you just like to make things more complicated for yourself? Huh Wink

Oh, that one. I heard that it was horribly outdated, but I guess you know more about this than I do. Thanks for explaining.

Oh, I'm not an expert, and I do agree that it is horribly outdated (however, I'm well known not to be a fan of personality type-rs like Myers Briggs Tongue).

What's all this talk about T children anyway? What are they? Is that like children of the corn or something?  Huh

I have no idea what T children are.

For those who are curious, the "T" is a reference to one of the personality preferences in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (basically it's a personality test) and stands for "thinking". Once you've taken the test you're given a rating based on your tendencies towards each preference (i.e. "Extroverted" vs. "Introverted", "Feeling" vs. "Thinking", "Sensing" vs. "Intuition", "Judging" vs. "Perceiving"); these tendencies are usually represented as a letter (E, I, F, T, S, N, J, P). Your "score" is a 4 letter result representing the preferences that your answers fell most in line with (e.g. you could end up with a rating of INTJ meaning you tended towards answers that fell in the introverted, intuitive, thinking and judging categories).

I saw something there (and it was taking up a very large amount of space), but it appears to be gone now. Carry on! Cheesy

Jilly, for the love of all that is holy, can you please resize your avatar?!

Personal Size power? Is this something for short people? I am curious and want to subscribe to your newsletter.

Oh, you sweet naive kid, you. Wink

Feel free to subscribe to my newsletter though. Admittedly it's mostly about squids; but I do guarantee 30% less creeepy threats and 50% more insane fears about space aliens than the other guys, and it's a whole lot cheaper to join in (er, for the moment...tell your friends and family please!).

Uermn... I dunno if I should disclose her name. She's a lesbian, and said that Vancouver's west end is a lot like our Kings Cross, which means Big Gay Scene. She's seen a lot of celebrities there doing the dirty with same sex patners.  Cheesy

Ha, ha! I was just kidding, there's no need to tell me her name.  Cheesy (Although I somewhat doubt she's as famous as she claims in that part of town, especially considering that she's a lady Wink).

Because it's Tom Cruise, I just thought he existed in a suspended animation pod until it was time for him to come out and do a movie/interviews  Cheesy

Well, I mean, can't he do it (them?) all? I mean he's got a lot of time on his hands with the lack of work and all. How much time does fighting Xenu take during the day anyway? Plus, seriously, what better way to prove that you've achieved the "Personal Size" power. Cheesy

I kinda like the idea now, of all of us getting together and talking on the interwebz. Wait, don't we already do that? heh.

Maybe tape a sound wave and post it? I love accents Smiley Mine is boring. It's not occa, it's not strong, it's just boring. I went drinking with a Canadian two weeks ago, I met her at the pub. Her accent was awesome, she was from Vancouver, and a big name in the West End. She told me so much gossip heh. Dunno if any of it is true, but who cared when her accent was just awesomesauce? Tongue

Oh yeah? What's her name?  Grin (I am from Vancouver too, but it is highly unlikely that I know this person)

Er, and is that West End in your part of the world or the West End in my part? Huh Cheesy

Edit: Took out the weirdy third person-ness

Do people with spainish accents think the canadian accent sounds slow (like americans tend to)?

I've an American, and I've never thought the Canadian accent is slow, or even much of an accent.

Depends on where you're from in Canada, of course. Where I'm from everyone has an accent that is largely indistinguishable from a Pacific US one; however head over to Newfoundland, Nova Scotia or Quebec (for the francophones there at least) and voices/accents are likely going to sound much different. You may be referring to that generic, slow, stereotypical accent that gets stuck on to Canadians for laughs (although Canadians do it too as a joke; see "Bob and Doug MacKenzie"). That accent is more common back East, and is not anywhere near as common as is popularly thought.

Baby, okay, you are a kiddo. We can understand. We can forgive your total lack of good sense because you´re too young.

Oh, I never said I understood or accepted it. I don't think there's any good excuse for thoughtlessness (especially on a site for 18+); however, since no one around here listens to me anyway...(grumble, grumble...). I'll forgive when it proves itself to be less silly (or I'll forget due to senility in my advanced age; either works).
41  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Paysite Macros on: 2008 October 11, 21:07:08
I really didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just that "cuss" words like that are all the same to me. They are all used around me regulary so the meanings really just means to piss people off...

That you give so little thought to the words you choose to use is what irritates/horrifies me most about all of this. I know you're young (you've made that abundantly clear Roll Eyes), but there's no time like the present to actually start thinking about what you're saying before you say it.

Mando is that you?

Hey! Angry I would never do something like that, I'm quite comprehensible! Right? Right?!

thankyou - i'll work on it a bit more Smiley

I didn't mean my comment in a bad way, I just thought I'd give you my opinion.
And I feel I should add that the reason why I wouldn't use it, isn't because I don't like it, I really do, but it's to do with personal taste for the game.

Er, she didn't sound upset. Even though most of the posts here aren't that critical of the work presented, this thread is for people to get honest feedback on their work in order to improve. You don't need to feel like you have to apologize for how you feel about the work presented or about any suggestions you make on how to improve it. Besides, both of your responses were sweeter than sugar, why would you feel guilty? Huh Cheesy
44  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: why is everyone here so means?! on: 2008 September 28, 17:49:45
Geez, what does it taste like?

Uh, I'm not sure how to describe it...kind of brine-y with a deep burnt charcoal taste. The one thing it doesn't taste like is coffee. Cheesy

I used to only drink coffee black, but as the years have gone by I will change what additions are made based on the quality. Excellent to great coffee=as is, good to alright coffee will usually have some cream added, poor coffee will have a little more cream added, and for the barely drinkable it's both a load of cream and a load of sugar. I hate the taste of sugar in coffee, but in order to stay awake all day at my job (and not have to spend a mint on buying it at the coffee shops around the office) I live with it.
45  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: why is everyone here so means?! on: 2008 September 28, 00:44:02
That was the same for me. As a kid, I always wondered what it was, since they made it sound so good - When I came across it at a specialty store back in high school, I immediately grabbed a small package of it. It was a Rose flavored turkish delight candy bar... I took one bite and almost retched. SO SWEET. It was like eating potpourri gel. I was so disillusioned! Why would Edmund do what he did* for THAT stuff... (It does explain why he gets awfully sick afterward though!  Cheesy)

Heh, I thought the exact same thing at the time. When I first read the book at 7 or 8, my first thought (having already tried the candy) after reading that bit was, "Turkish Delight? Really? That kid's an idiot". Cheesy

I hate sugar in coffee. BLERGH.  Angry

With great to okay coffee, I agree absolutely. On the other hand, for my sketchy work coffee, sugar is an absolute necessity. Foulest substance ever. Tongue
