751  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / New paysite threatening to open on: 2007 March 28, 18:48:06
Well, this all is as interesting as watching two flies fuck.  It took searching for the original thread to understand what was going on.

It reminds me of an analogy.  It's like a dog that squats on your bed to poop *while you're watching him* and you beat him up so bad he can only limp away.  He returns an hour to do the *same thing*!

Ameliiya Amelia-
By posting here, you are showing you DO care.
If you don't want to be talked about you wouldn't be reopening the site.
Telling us that you won't bother telling us your reasons for reopening the site proves they're inane.
Further more if you feel *obligated* then you are dumber than we give you credit for.
Do you really think we're that blind that we wouldn't notice you reopening your site and trying the same shit?  You could of at least pulled an Emilie and showed up with a different name.  Oh wait, you couldn't be BOTHERED.

If you read his message you'd see he isn't gone for good.  He'll be back.  (And I know that doesn't help you on your mesh hunt right now. ;p)

I didn't even know this site existed.  I see that I haven't missed out however because it requires a log in.  *sigh*  Small sites shouldn't require you to log in to download. >.<  Watch their forum get hacked, everyone's email address gets exposed, and given to spammers..

And yes, he is contradicting himself because it is having a pay section on his site and apparently he's against pay sites.  ;p

Actually I like the idea of the dress but it's executed very poorly.. :/
760  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Well if this don't beat anything....... on: 2007 February 26, 21:01:37
As I like making lists to organize my thoughts, here's one for you!

A free site may be publishing pay stuff and claiming it as its own.  The original source of the content may not know about it being on another site.

MtS2 has to have some sort of quality control.  If they didn't the site would be as filled to the brim with crapola as TSR is.

A lot of creators get turned down by MtS2 initially.  They have to improve to be accepted.

Don't use your age as a crutch.  It's just as annoying as when an eleven year old does it.

You are actually correct in your assumption that many of the moderators don't even play the game.

It's also true that many creators create things for the game and don't play the game either.
761  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Another great free creator gone :( on: 2007 February 26, 20:45:57
Darkangel, try reading this thread and the related one that was started by lieg before asking questions.  This question has already been answered repeatedly!  Pot. kettle. black. on the laziness you accuse her of.  So, for shame!  Shame on you!  ;p

*clings to her Gadwin print screen*  I've had it for years.  I recommend it fully. Cheesy

I use Photoshop for batch file changing nowadays but any adequate paint program will have it.

Yeah, the Elau implosion was internal drama on their forum.
765  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / So it begins... Or something slightly less dramatic on: 2007 February 14, 17:13:05
Actually Lieg is just going back to the old school ways of making recolors of others' meshes.. including the link to the creator's site on your site and in the zip/rar.  I hope more readopt this practice.

I don't know if you guys have realized but this community is filled with a lot of "colorful" personalities.  Off the top of my head only HP comes to mind as a free creator that will stay free.  I can't stay with any degree of confidence whether any other creator will not go off the further deep end and pull his/her site down or from a collective site like MtS2.  What good is a recolor without a mesh to go with it?

What this boils down to is control.  When uploading to the interweb you relinquish your control.  All the fist waving, screaming, and crying cannot change what others will do.  You can try to take it to court but you better have the buck to back it up.

ETA:  And Lethe, I know you're upset but to blast a generalization that, as typical of a generalization, does not apply to the greater whole does not help matters.
