The notice on the site says this: For those who don't know this, MSFS is Manga_Moon. As Sims Divine is closing it's doors, all of MSFS and Manga_Moon's stuff will be put up onto his TSR account 'Apple' ~ but don't worry, he'll see to it that these files will always be set free to download. Thankyou. Quick, someone warn him not to do this! There's no way he can guarantee his files will be free and he will have no control over them at all once they are uploaded. If he ever decides that he wants them off the site, they won't honor his request. How many people do we know that this has happened to? It feels like a countless amount of people.. |

Many, many people need medication for their psychological problems the way someone with diabetes needs insulin. I'm not sure it's that medicine is overprescribed as much as that therapy is WAY underprescribed.
I know people who would be dead right now if not for Prozac or Zoloft or whatever. Without therapy, but with just the pills, they'd still be sort of struggling hazily through life. The pills are a patch, therapy (cognitive is what works) teaches you to reshape and rethink yourself and your life in a way that allows you to stop fucking over yourself and the people around you. People with mental health problems often can't think about the problems they cause for others, but they can be severe. Living with someone who has an untreated mental illness is not fun. When that person is your parent, it can be a fucking nightmare. When that parent chooses to self-medicate with alcohol or drugs, guess what, they've just given you your very own set of issues on a nice little checklist, and you get to deal with those issues for the rest of your life. I know because I've finally gotten to the point where I'm mad as hell about it, rather than making excuses for the person who put me through it.
I've also been through depression. I didn't think I could do anything right, and I was completely correct, because depression was taking everything away from me. I chose not to take medication because I was never in an emergency situation, but therapy worked. It does work. I understand the pull of depression, it's a safety blanket, a comfortable, if miserable, place that protects you from life. But it's a false savior.
I definitely agree that therapy is great, but only if you are in a place where you are ready to confront what is really going on and want to try to change it. My mother wasn't and so she either got therapists that would baby her and tell her, "Oh, you had a very hard life," and nothing got done or she got therapists that were aggressive and would try to get her to see things differently and so she would stop going. |

Oh, I agree - though my mom took me to a counsellor as a kid - was put in with a group of girls my own age - and the counsellor soon realized that my problems did not belong in that - that my problems were parental. So, into counselling with my mom - and that didn't work. Apparently, I just avoided the generation of throwing pills at mental and emotional problems. And I should be on meds for being manic-depressive - but - they make me into a zombie and I don't want to lose my happy swings just to not have crying jags.So yup, self-medicating, and if I'm a dependent pervert, well....most folks who know me, know that's half right  Ditto. Everything they have put me on to "regulate the extremes of my emotions" has left me flatlined emotionally. No sad, but no happy either. My feelings toward my loved ones were even dulled, which is a VERY BAD THING when you're a mother of two. The cure was worse than the disease. So if every once in a while mommy withdraws into games or books, I still take care of and love them during that time. Having me a little distracted and grumpy sometimes has been way better than the drug induced constant daze that Zoloft and Prozac put me into. I'm not saying the meds are bad for everyone, at all times, but I do think that they are overprescribed, and that a little escapism isn't a bad way to deal with things if you can still function. As a child of a maniac depressive, it's disheartening to read that medicine has not worked for you. Children need stability and by the very nature of what bipolar is, you can't be stable in the same way that others can. It's a roller coaster and everyone that surrounds you is on it too. Now I'm not saying that medication is the right/only answer, but it sure can help if you are willing to put in the time it takes to find a combination of medicines that work for you. That process alone can be difficult and requires perseverance, especially if you are like my mother and have a higher tolerance to medicine than the average person. It's also ongoing because our bodies change and what used to work may no longer work. I thank God for medicine because without it my mother would be in the mental ward right now and she'd be stuck there the rest of her life. So in that sense, I wouldn't have a mother at all. I know it feels that way already when she is having an episode. So I hope in future if you feel like the highs are too high and the lows are too low that you would be willing to consider medicine again to help with that. They're making amazing strides in science and medicine all the time. They may have something now or the near future that will be more effective with your chemical makeup.  |

Ack. I keep clicking on links of nifty looking stuff only to find it's sims 3. At least the pudding faces help me figure it out for Body Shop stuff.
You know, it's funny because I have seen many screenshots of the Sims 3 look like the Sims 2, especially in lower settings. Someone posted a series of pictures on MATY and I couldn't tell which game it was.  It turned out to be Sims 3 pictures. ETA: Aren't both games built on the same engine or am I losing it? |

Well this whole thread is personal information and it's been around for a very long time. Personally I think it's relevant because people are paying this person money and you can see where it's going and to what sort of person and what their mentality is like. I am not TSR and I am not hacking into anyones accounts or stealing anything that is not purposely and freely put out on the net anyway and easy enough to find, but if you want to play net nanny then fine I will delete it and probably take my ass out of this place too for a while because you know what, of all places I really don't think people here should get up on some moral high horse or start censoring.  I hardly think this is worth flouncing over. It makes me a little sad too because I was happy that you had returned and wondered where you had been. It's okay to disagree with me about where the line should be, but I think we PMBDers do pride ourselves on being on a higher moral ground than tsr. We don't resort to the things they do, even to prove a point. Also, the rule was written into the FAQ because it was a decision based on the consensus at the time among us. Maybe the majority doesn't feel the same now. I don't know. ETA: Btw, if the information is public, then those among us that want to read it are likely to be resourceful enough to find it themselves. It is unnecessary to link it. ETA2: To those who missed it-I was complaining about the links Motoki recently had up that went to Openhousejack's Myspace and Facebook pages. He has taken them down now. I wasn't referring to the original content of this thread, which is very old. |

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I'm uncomfortable with links outside of the sims community being linked to, especially with personal information on it and yes, even if it is public. :/
Well those sites have settings to make your page private and in fact Facebook defaults to private so if someone made their page public they intentionally set it so. Here on PMBD, we have a rule about not linking to people's whois info for their websites and/or posting personal information. It may be out there in the interwebs freely, but we are not tsr and we don't post/link to it here. It's in the FAQ under Forum Policies. I'm not a mod though, so it's up to you to do the right thing. |

So WB why do think someone is doing this to you? You're hardly one of the more offensive people here so I don't understand why they'd be targeting you. Not mentioning any names but some people here are far more insulting and do so on a regular basis.
I think they target everyone, actually. We only hear about it when they're successful. |

OFFS Thomass and Dot! Why can't you just admit for once that you made a stupid mistake and appologize like normal people, instead of trying to give everyone some lame excuse as to how a solid color magically appeared in the pay section. We all know that you are both greedy bastards and thought you'd get paid for doing absolutely nothing, but if you had owned up to it, then people might have given you a little more slack.

I seem to remember her pulling down some/all of her downloads off of MtS2 for some reason in a huff. I know there was a reason to the tantrum, but it's not coming to mind atm. I know I didn't download anything from her after that.
