Yes- Amadeo and Nextor Torres, at GOS have already extracted several TS2 hair meshes from the base game and converted them to TS3 and there have been a ton or CC hair conversions as well. I have not seen any clothes conversions though.

Nandonalt has already converted a TS2 EA chair and table to work in TS3 , and several other creators are working on converting some of their stuff to TS3.

And as we see from Clutter- a- holic people are also doing the reverse with TS3 to TS2 conversions.

I'll be VERY interested to see some sort of tutorial on how to do that! If it's something not too complicated, like just changing a code or something, and I could convert whatever TS2 CC I have... Hmmm.... I might just keep TS3 installed after all.

For those who are sticking with TS2 but have been oogling over some of the TS3 items, the new update at Clutter-a-holic is a must.

Soooo.... It's possible to make objects created for TS2 work in TS3? As in, all the CC I've collected over the years?

I downloaded it, and, no, she didn't compress. The files named 'Adele_opheliaSet_alt1' through 'alt9' (which I'm assuming are the sink recolors) went from 1711 [KB] to between 858 and 902. The sink mesh itself went from 1954 to 985. The rest of the files are relatively small, but they all went down some, too. All in all, I'd say those are numbers that I wouldn't be afraid to put in my overly-crowded DL folder. Wink
Booty stuff is not compressed, and this is because it does change files and sometimes they don't work for some people or have problems being recolored, etc. I think it's better, anyway, to have the file whole and intact and let the downloader decide what to do with it from there.

You're talking about using the Compressorizer, right? I remember reading somewhere (maybe here, I dunno, I go lots of places) that sometimes compressing the mesh file fubars things, but compressing any recolors is no problem. I never had a problem that I was aware of, but better safe than sorry. So, since reading that, I make sure to separate out any mesh files and only run recolors through the Compressorizer.

It does astonish me how much smaller the files get. It doesn't make load times any shorter, sadly, but it does save considerable hard drive space, which is at quite a premium for me these days.

Anyway, I'd make room for Adele no matter what! She is a goddess. Or an alien or something. She's not of this world.
20  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Sirona Sims Adds Pay Section? on: 2009 August 30, 21:08:41
What the hell does it matter whether she "asks forgiveness" or not, or says nothing at all about it? The mission is to get rid of paysites, no? She went pay, for whatever reason, and now she's back to 100 percent free, and that's the only point that should matter in light of PMBD's goals. You get nowhere by beating up people who align with your cause. Keep your eyes on the prize, guyz.

So what, in light of PMBD's goals, we should not be suspicious of someone who knows the community, yet still chose to go pay - for whatever the length of time? We should forgive, forget, and not bother with it? I refuse to pay for a ticket on that train of thought.

Corvidophile has been around long enough to know the issues, to know the fight, to decide where she stands; pay or free. Clearly after a move like that, she is not a person who 'aligns with our cause'. The prize? I needn't remind you that the 'prize' is the abolition of all paysites. It is not the flip-flopping of freesites to paysites and back again and who knows whether they'll be pay once more. She hasn't come out and said that she will continue to be free, and if she did, we'd still have every right not to trust her. As of now, not a single one of us can say with certainty what she will/won't do. But this is about what's been done already. And what has been done was very WTF-ish. I, for one, do not appreciate being poopooed for not sighing in relief and shrugging, saying "Ah, well, crisis averted!"

Not poopooing you, m'dear. Attack isn't my style. I'm just saying that IMO it doesn't matter why she went pay, what matters is that she went back to free and that's what people here want. What she will or won't do in the future is irrelevant. So tomorrow she goes pay again? So you boycott her and trash 'n slash her again. It apparently worked the first time. If that's the reason she went back to free, it's doubtful she'll try the donation file route again, because obviously she cares what's thought of her and said about her. If she went back to free for other reasons, what difference does it make? She's free again, that's the goal. No sighs of relief are necessary. There's no "crisis" that was averted. It's a freakin' game, for God's sake. Nobody's died. She saw the light. This is a good thing. Don't flog her for making a decision you wanted her to make.

I get 8.3 MB for the whole shebang, too. The extra "7" must have just been a keyboard slip. So, go ahead and download it. It's Adele, for God's sake! *does happy dance*

Wow, I didn't even know about this site and soon it won't exist.  Cry  Time for a downloading spree.

Thanks for the heads up, Karu.

Oh Doctor, I had to use up the last of my rum after looking at those. I must go lie down now, I feel all dizzy and nauseous.

Oh, very nice! A little stretchy on the pattern, but a great shape. A good start! Thanks, Doc!  Grin

Wow, Sigmund, great find on that AAS tunic. They've come up with several dynamite new clothing meshes, and I'd also invite you to check out their TS3 shoes: http://www.all-about-style.com/Sims3accessories.html

I can't wait for them to figure out how to create new meshes for their famous Victorian and other themed styles. I have one entire Sims 2 game that contains almost nothing but AAS clothing.

WTF is up with this Cara Big Breasts? They all need counterweights, for Chrissake. Why not just clone the udders from the carnivorous Cowplant onto their chests and be done with it.

Thanks bunches, Paden, for the link to the computer. How'd I miss that all this time?  Huh

Great find on those bangles! I rarely, if ever, used them, but I will now.

Now, to stick my hand in the fire, I'd like to recommend a visit to Holy Simoly to see what can be done with the game's own resources in terms of creating truly beautiful Sims. For those who think you have to settle for homogeneous puddings without custom skins, eyes, brows, makeup, hairs, etc., you really should see what can be done in the hands of a master.

Yeah, I know, technically they're a paysite because of the donation packs, but I make an exception for Holy Simoly. So, go ahead and throw your punches, I've got plenty of Dr. House's rum left to deaden the pain.  Tongue

It's a TS2 hair, Veles. The thread's split now, remember?  Wink
