Good point. But why are they talking about banning people on SFV then? I can see that they wouldn't for just being here. But if I posted a link in my profile and my signature to my site which contained free paysite stuff...that might be a cause for banning, right??

Well, I have access to InSim and MTS2 from other people so I could, I guess. But I don't know how I'd use their ISP. That's just confusing. Plus, doesn't MTS2 not ban ISPs or something silly like that?? I'm only on InSim and MTS2 anyway. I never signed up to S2C or any other forums. Not even MATY, not that that matters.
If I were allowed to do what I wanted, I'd do this: Freely offer every sim with what looks best on them, if it's pay or free, but with a link to the booty and a description of the mesh so they can download it, and full credit to the people who created it. The problem is that I'm sure that would get me banned by those who worked out who I was. I also don't want to damage one of the creators, as she's lovely and she has quite a few items on MTS2 up for grabs, and I don't want her to be killed because of my decisions. I'll talk with her about it, see what her morals are. I suppose the bright side is she can post all her stuff on my site if they work out who she is...
I will be putting up that FSF button, Dour. ^c^ Thanks for telling me about it! I don't do anything myself aside from make countless sims, though. ^^

Now I've had someone upload a story of mine to fanfiction.net and that made me mad. No credit to me, horrible formatting...and the story was already on the site. Exactly what happened to me. Same site. Somebody hacked me and so I posted my stuff on another site and my account got wiped. Then this girl comes along, takes my stuff off the other site, I go back on ffnet under a new name and suddenly a reviewer of mine tells me she just read the story under another name! Boy was I fuming...what made it worse was the girl had the gall to change the summary but to leave the author's notes!! Ugh, MysticWhite. If you ever encounter her...but she stole loads of Harry Potter stories so if you don't do that you'll be safe. She had more reviews than I do. That annoyed me. If someone just put up my writing with my name attached to it, like the files are here, I wouldn't stress over it. I'd be honoured!! Nouk, what you said there was right. There isn't any point. So the fact that we do what is unexpected is different and unique, and not theft when it could be. This site isn't about claiming to have done all of this--it wouldn't wash anyway. I mean, we could create user accounts with each of the pay creators' names and reasons of compliance, but we don't because we're not about that. So ultimately it may be unlikely but it's not impossible.

However, I'm opening a freesite not on MTS2. I don't fancy the idea of being another one on there--I don't know why, I just want my own site is about right, with me and a few friends. There's nothing wrong with wanting your own site. Putting your content up on one of the compilation sites (MTS, TSR, Insim) gets you more exposure, but you're faceless unless you update prolifically. There's also a lot to be said for controlling the look of the site yourself, and the ability to freely post content that those sites must block to stay good with paypal. That's another thing. Why don't they get a permanent file hosting site and a forum?? Because it looks ugly? Who cares? They do. And to be fair, you get a lot less visitors when people have to jump through hoops for your content. Juniper Sun and the yahoo groups are good examples- no matter how nice their stuff is, most people aren't going to bother wading through. But the line of thinking is that because they want their own site, they're entitled to have one, and have their visitors foot the bill...which wraps into the same old "I should be paid because I worked so hard!" line. Reply #1: Yeah, I guess that's the essence of why I want my own site--plus my site isn't going to exactly be the best thing in the world and it's going to allow some pretty weird things on it. I don't think I'd be allowed to post any of this on MTS2. ^^ I'd get banned. Reply #2: I hate yahoo!groups. They piss me off. I've only ever signed up for like 4 and I never go on them. Reply #3: Yeah, I think that's likely to be what they think. And they shouldn't. It's called selflessness. They should learn it.

I'm thinking of creating a website. I mean, I AM creating a website. About to. lol ^^ It's going to be a Sim Model Agency, so it will feature lots of sim models in clothes and hair belonging to various people (not all affiliated with me, to be honest, though I have two outfit creators in tow and a trainee hair-recolourer, and I have a couple of big designers allowing this scheme to use their content--with full credit, of course). The thing is, do you think I'd be allowed to make it file-share-friendly? I don't mean by making my models wear pay content. I understand that that is probably Very Bad and will make paysite-defenders hate me as I am offering everything on my site for something called "FREE" (and warm fuzzy carebear feelings), which paysite-defenders do not seem to recognise the concept of. It will make paysite owners hate me, when I've never done anything but float butterflies their way and hide here. What I mean, is do you think I'd be able to add a big explanation on my site as to why you should not pay for paysites and a link to PMBD?? Or would that get me killed?? I just thought I'd better get your responses first. I don't want to die. Not painfully, at least. Thank you.

TO ALL CREATORS WHO DISLIKE "PIRATES"
Do you have enough revenue to keep your site open? You do? Great! Then you get to spend your free time doing a hobby you enjoy and putting it up on the internet so people can compliment you! What warm fuzzies. So why are you spending said free time bitching at us? We're not hurting you.
You say you don't have enough money to keep your site open?
Well, come here, I've got a little secret for you, let me whisper in your ear closer closer that's it... now listen real good, I'm only going to say this once...
YOU CAN GET FREE HOSTING AT MODTHESIMS2.COM
Why are you still here? go play sims! Remember? That game you like playing so very much that you even create custom content? Yami, I love you. This needs to be the big Why You Need To Open Your Eyes To MTS2 quote. Because by goddess we need one. ^^^^^ However, I'm opening a freesite not on MTS2. I don't fancy the idea of being another one on there--I don't know why, I just want my own site is about right, with me and a few friends. I guess my response is similar to others, but I'm not about to turn my site into a paysite. The moment my host wants to charge me, I'm getting a proboards. Another one. That's another thing. Why don't they get a permanent file hosting site and a forum?? Because it looks ugly? Who cares?

Lmao this is such a shame. Normally I would say "Get 'er stuff to tha booty" But her stuff isn't even booty worthy. If she's even going to ask for donations she should make some good stuff >.> Hai. You're right. The stuff is sucky and not even worthy of Carla Niven's 25$ weave!!! ^^

I don't think I would mind my writing being shared on a website that I didn't place them on. Oh, I would. I'd be angry at the world. It's happened to me. But then again, the girl took TWO of my stories and didn't credit me. It took me and my friends about 20 complaints to get them taken down. She stole other people's work too. There is a Russian site my friend was looking at, and the site had loads of Rose's stuff on it for download. She never said it was hers, but she didn't mention Rose once! It made me laugh. Now that's theft... Us, we're a Free File Sharing Site, I think. Both. We freely advertise for other sites. If the pay content is good that we stock, people (like me) search the sites for free content too! So I think we're both, but we lean on the side of advertising. ^^^^^^
