It still amazes me that T$R has so much advertising on their site. A top banner and a side bar? Don't they make enough $$$ from the subscriptions??? Guess not... And in this case, it just adds to the awesome (in the original sense of the word) ugliness of the site. Whoever designed that thing needs to turn in his/her license.

I'm late to the party -- Stupid long-ass process of getting my house listed for sale! -- but, OMG DarkLunaris...I want that hair. Totally. Because that's usually how I wear my hair, only mine's yet a bit longer. When I've got mine in a big fat poofy high pony like that, it's still down to my butt. But that's as close as I've ever seen to my hairstyle. I'm not big on fantasy sims but I am really big on that hair. DO WANT NOW! (I fear not the polys. *wubs her 4GB of RAM*) Especially if it's in dark auburn. It'd be nice if the auburn had some wee streaks of grey in it, but I know that's probably too much to ask. And I haven't the first clue as to how to recolor, I'm afraid. *sigh* Also want Nouk's hair. Will get Nouk's hair. Yay for more excessively long hairs!

You know, I tried my darndest to get the Audrey Hepburn thing in my game, and I can't get her hair to work. I know it was in the download, but it's not showing. Don't know if I did something wrong (It's the first time I've ever used a complete downloaded Sim, so it very well might be a "my bad") or if the file is not right or what. Whatever the case, there's just a (ugly, out of proportion) face and no rest of her head. Which makes "her" not only ugly but bizarre. Which means that I now find her oddly endearing. Shoot me now. I will post pics of her tonight, assuming that I don't fall asleep in the middle of playing like I did last night.
And you know, I think I have an "Evi callus" now. When I look at her stuff, I no longer have a visceral bad reaction to it. I don't know if this is a good thing or not...

Celligirl, I was kind of the same way with math in school, especially with geometry. I used to frustrate my teachers because I'd usually get the right answer but never be able to show my work. How was I supposed to do that, though, when my method consisted of drawing random shapes and moving them around in my head for a while until I suddenly knew the answer was 42 degrees?
Yeah, I see numbers as pictures and as parts of ten, which I then manipulate in my head, not on paper. So, kind of the same thing. I had a similar problem with geometry. My brain just doesn't think sequentially in steps, but in blocks of data which it then moves around. Music makes sense to me not because it's "math," per se, but because it's parts of 4 (or 3 or 6 or 2 or 9 or 13 or whatever, depending on the meter). So, I pretty much always get the right answer in math but not by using the "right" method. I always thought it was silly that they only teach one way to do arithmetic and that everyone has to follow the stupid steps. Who cares, so long as you get the right answer and aren't just copying answers from the person sitting next to you? As for the whole right brain/left brain thing...I don't know; I'm pretty skeptical of it. I was in high school when it became a big thing and everyone in this class I was taking took this test for it and blah, blah. Given that and my strange math thing, I was held up as a shining example of right-brainedness. I think it's a lot more complicated than just what half of your brain you use.

I've never been able to see that dancer spinning anything but clockwise, no matter how long I've stared and tried to make my brain see differently. But then all of these right/left tests I take -- even ones with psychologists way back when -- seem to indicate that I'm so right brained that one wonders if I even have a left hemisphere. No wonder I do math differently than everyone else I know. And why I always sucked at math in school because I could never show my work. 'Cuz I don't do it in steps, you see. That never made sense to me and I always got so frustrated (sometimes to the point of tears) in math class. When the right/left stuff became popular, people started having an indication as to why I got the right answer, but not the "right" way.

(Ooooh, watch me dangle prepositions! ) *HUG* Aw, thanks. *hugs back* I was an English major in college...although sometimes you'd never know it. Where I'm not dangling prepositions, I'm splitting infinitives. But, you know, if you don't dangle the prepositions, then you sound all stilted. I suspect that grammar rule will disappear one day, drowned in common but incorrect sentence structure. *sigh*

OK, not only is the jacket fugly, but what's with the weirdly-photoshopped background? I can see making the rest of the image black and white, if you want to be "artsy" and if you want the eye-searing jacket to stand out even further. But, why then apply the sketch filter? And why choose such a grossly out-of-scale background image to plop the Sims into? (Ooooh, watch me dangle prepositions! ) I just don't get it.

Speaking of Chaz... Yeah. Supposed to be Katie Holmes. This person knows nothing of facial proportions, do they? In other news, I have downloaded a Chaz creation. Later tonight, she will go in my game. Film -- or at least screenshots -- at 11, my time. I'm sure there will be much hilarity. And retching. But I'm just insanely curious as to what one of these things really looks like, so I just have to see for myself. This is assuming, of course, that I can figure out how to get a Sim in a game. I've never downloaded one. I'm sure it can't be that complicated, though.

Dang, dietofworms beat me to it. Smiley I was torn as to whether to put that "lovely" creation here or in the fug thread. It certainly qualifies for both! Yecch!
And so much for Atwat's heroic effort to sanitize TSR, eh? *rolls eyes*

I don't do orgies, but I'll serenade you all with my cello. I'm sure if I try hard enough I can make it sound like a smarmy saxophone.
