The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Problem Files/Overwriting Maxis

A vase from the 'Spring' set at WallSims overwrites a Maxis vase. A shame, really, since it was a nice vase and Cathy at Aussie Top Enders has made some beautiful recolours of it.

Aww do you feel special.... Cause that's my real name... And thank you for the support everyone... And yeah I know it's spelled wrong I make all my avies at 3am and I'm just to tired to fix it !@_o! Yes, and you misspell most of the words in your posts, too. I've got a word for you. It's spelled D-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-R-Y and it is your friend.

A lot of furries are fucked up, but that was as disturbing to you as Holocaust footage?
There are no goddamned words.
Well, I was being perhaps a bit facetious. One of my major gripes with e-mediums is that sarcasm and hyperbole for the sake of humour just don't seem to translate very well. Though if you had seen the video, you'd understand...

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: OFFICIAL THANK YOU THREAD

Instead of thanking Pes and company for the booty, which I really don't care that much about, I would rather thank them for allowing what is truly a medium for free speech. I was recently banned from a forum (non-sims-related) simply for stating a differing opinion (politely, I might add). Such an unfortunate occurance has made me appreciate the fine folks at MATY and PMBD even more than I already did. I do not 'donate' to paysites as a matter of general principle, even though I could easily afford to do so. Thus, I consider PMBD an honourable cause to support. Thanks, guys!
Ach, I'm sorry if I gave anyone cavities with my sickly sweet post.

HChangeri threatening to close her site is comparable to those pathetic twits who threaten to kill themselves just to get back at somebody whom they perceive to have done them wrong. It's a classic case of cutting off the nose to spite the face.
'I'll show him! I'll kill myself, and then won't he be sorry! Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket!'
My response is always this: Then fucking do it already, and quit yer whining, you mewling little shit!
Does that make me a bitch?
like I really care
Oh, I see that she's already removed her content from her site. I'm crushed.

After all the uproar about furries on MATY, I mentioned the subject to a friend of mine, who is into some weird stuff. Big mistake. My friend just happens to own a porn version of Alice in Wonderland, complete with people dressed in animal costumes, and felt the need to share it with me. It was one of the most disgusting and disturbing things I've ever seen - right up there with Holocaust footage. In fact, I could only watch about 10 minutes of it before I had to leave the room. It was like Zoobily Zoo, but with fucking. Eye bleach won't even begin to repair the damage!
Please don't tell sanmonroe that I mentioned furries

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Why do people pay for some of this stuff?
|
on: 2006 November 19, 11:37:35
|
To be perfectly honest, I hardly download any of the booty from this site, and I certainly don't pay the original 'creators' for it, because most of the stuff is total crap. I am extremely picky about what I download, even from free sites, and I really don't see why people go crazy over some of the shite that's floating around out there. Peggy's hair is some of the worst that I've seen, and I wouldn't download it even if somebody paid ME. This whole paysite phenomenon truly boggles the mind.
Oh yes, and Carla Niven MUST BE DESTROYED! I only made it through a couple of her(?) pages, nevermind the 'Fashion Show,' before I had to close my browser in sheer disgust at the badly-made textures and truly horrendous colour-combinations. My retinas - they're burning!

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / How much does bandwith cost and how much could they be using

This is what I get for $10 per YEAR at hostingrevolution.com and have never experienced any downtime:
Subdomains: unlimited Parked Domains: 1 Addon Domains: 1 Mysql databases: unlimited Disk usage: 50.00 MB MySQL Disk usage: N/A MB Bandwidth (per month): 5120 MB Email accounts: unlimited Email forwarders: unlimited Autoresponders: unlimited Email filters: unlimited Mailing lists: unlimited FTP accounts: unlimited
Edited to correct missing punctuation.
EDIT 2: Well, I do realise that the above-mentioned plan wouldn't do much good for a site of this magnitude, but it's quite useful for my puny little website, especially since I used to pay $3.99 per month for the same plan from a different host. I believe that Hosting Revolution has other plans, which are probably quite reasonably priced. It might be worth looking into for peeps who are paying up the butt for bandwidth.

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Interesting post on Sim2.com

Well, it seems obvious to me that the reason for EA's neutrality in this matter is strictly profit-driven. They don't want to take sides, because they know that both sides are consumers of EA products. Why would any business-savvy corporation want to risk alienating a large segment of its consumer-base for any reason? It just wouldn't make good business sense to do so.
