The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Sims 2 on Wikipedia

Question: Why is it fair, balanced and non-biased when it's only YOUR opinion YOU feel is being censored? There has been some controversy as to whether paysites can legally charge for custom content since the EA license agreement states "You may include materials created with the Tools & Materials on your personal noncommercial website for the noncommercial benefit of the fan community for EA's products"[6]. Protest sites such as http://paysites.mustbedestroyed.org have started offering pay items from other websites for free stating that those websites are the ones that are illegal per EA games license agreement.[6]. The fact that paysites may not be legal and that other websites are offering these payfiles for free is subject to censorship on many of the fan communities The first casualty of the paysite controversy was popular site retailsims.com [7] who after closing urged other paysites to also close in protest. Whomever wrote this Wikipedia entry is clearly expressing their own personal opinion. And as such this entry hasn't any business on an open source encyclopedia. There has been controversy over Wikipedia's reliability and accuracy, with the site receiving criticism for its susceptibility to vandalism, uneven quality and inconsistency, systemic bias, and preference for consensus or popularity over credentials. Information is sometimes unconfirmed and questionable, lacking proper sources that, in the eyes of most Wikipedians, is necessary for an article to be considered "high quality". The author of the qouted entry is obviously neither a spokesperson, representative, nor laywer for Electronics Arts. Neither I suspect, is he a judge charged with interpretation of the EULA for the Sims community. He like others, is simply one person with his own opinion. I will respect his right to expressing it whether I agree or disagree. But there is no question that using Wikipedia to espouse one's personal agenda isn't appropriate. Ummm. Actually, it's a pretty matter-of-fact statement of the controversy, if you want to call it that. And considering the fact that I'm not really in favor of file-sharing (in general) and haven't downloaded any booty, but I do understand and agree with stamping out bad paysites, I'd like to think I'm fairly non-biased. Anyway - please point out the opinion here: 1) There has been some controversy as to whether paysites can legally charge for custom content since the EA license agreement states "You may include materials created with the Tools & Materials on your personal noncommercial website for the noncommercial benefit of the fan community for EA's products"[6]. 2) Protest sites such as http://paysites.mustbedestroyed.org have started offering pay items from other websites for free stating that those websites are the ones that are illegal per EA games license agreement.[6]. 3)The fact that paysites may not be legal and that other websites are offering these payfiles for free is subject to censorship on many of the fan communities 4) The first casualty of the paysite controversy was popular site retailsims.com [7] who after closing urged other paysites to also close in protest. 1) Fact - there is controversy, and that's a summation of it. 2) Fact - PMDB is offering the files, and for that reason. 3) Gray. Perhaps "The fact that..." should be changed to "The contention that..." or "The opinion that...", but the censorship is fact. 4) Fact. Or perhaps it should read "One of the first..." But really, it's pretty factual IMO.

There are others who support the cause but refuse on moral grounds to touch the booty. That's my category. And I still donate to those sites that I like that have done me right in the past. And I'm also making note of which sites will never get a dime of my money, even if hell were to freeze over (yes, Rose, I'm looking at you). But mainly, Lieg, I just had to say that I LOVE your siggie. It literally cracked me up - oh the days of sitting around a table and rolling real dice :-)

Oh, and somewhat off-topic (if there IS such a thing for this thread ) if someone's looking for a good set of romance novels, I'd highly recommend the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Paranormal, though, alas, no pedophilia. Anywho - exerpts to be had at http://www.dark-hunter.com. And I, too, would like a translation for yaoi. That one flew right by me. Though to be fair, I haven't watched anime since the days of Vampire Hunter Dee, Devil Hunter Yoko and Wicked City.

Disney's own idea for Pocahontas was to make her small child, oh John Smith you bad bad man... Pocahantas was 11 when the events John Smith made up supposedly took place. And none of it happened. He was well-known for being a con artist, and she was EXTREMELY ticked off about the whole thing. Basically, she came to England with her husband, and was a social sensation, and Smith ran around going, "I banged her first!" Yeah, he was a lying prick. Really?!? Hell. Learn something new every day.

Yuck to the sexy walk. Although maybe it looks better if it's naturally occuring in-game? Context may make all the difference. And the fashion show was a cute idea, in fairness. That said - who the fuck downloads that shit? Eeeewwww.

See, shit like this just makes me wonder if I've just had good luck with pay sites or what. I've seriously never had a problem with not getting what I pay for and or getting crap like this. I mean, I'll grouse a bit about SimsConnection hair, but I've never seen ANYTHING like this.

/lurk  I think the title of my senior thesis should be "Internet Drama Whores: Manifestations of Hysterical Neurosis in Cyberspace". Girl, (if not a girl, sorry :-)), that actually sounds interesting. I'm being totally serious, too. It sounds interesting, and god knows it's an actual phenomenom. So if you're a sociology or psych major, you might seriously give it some thought. Just have to get a professor to take it seriously. Beats writing about rats in mazes looking for cheese. Hmmm. Not sure what's needed for that. But yeah, anyone who's been online and part of an online community for more than six months has at least one story, I'm sure, of the drama and in-fighting that takes place.

Well, I managed to choke down my shrimp pasta, but ONLY because I didn't find that skinned rat that is supposed to be a hair mesh in the packaging. Gak! Wait, no - if I did I could sue and be rich, because that would definitely be both NASTY and traumatizing. Hmmm....

Don't forget to ask him to wash your car and do your dishes ;-) Put a couple of links to porn sites in there, maybe a couple of derogatory comments, and absolutely NO "thank you"s, or "please"es, and you should be good ;-) This is so frustating. Only 17 postings and everyone seems to know what really turns me on   You really shouldn't be so easy, hun :-) I think you need to expand your Terms of Use to at LEAST 10 pages, they should require a lawyer to decipher, and... oh, yeah. Charge at least $50.00 per month in subscription fees ;-)

I don't blame you. He's good looking, intelligent, witty and has a great sense of humor. A girl can only dream about someone who has all these quality together. I'm lucky. I have one at home I hate this 'quote' stuff   I have one at home, too :-) Just to clarify, because the internet is sometimes wonderful at losing the subtle nuances of conversation, I was teasing.
