to be honest i failed to look at the date of the thread/last post. i wouldn't have revived it otherwise, considering how much i'd already been scolded. the thread was near the top of the forum, so i mistakenly assumed it was active. the active threads at the time (delphy and lyric lee) were of no interest to me, because i don't know anything about either of them and i tend to shy away from gossip. i opt for threads related to sites and/or crappy downloads in oppose to those involving gossip about people i don't know.

i do find it interesting that reviving old threads is tantamount to death at the stake, but flaming, degrading and being unnecessarily mean to new members (that mean no harm) is totally acceptable.

i guess i'm too chatty and sensitive for u guys. i'm approaching this forum like a knitting circle instead of a pirate's ship. :oops:

necromancy is bad, but folk are instructed to search for existing threads, rather than post new ones. i'm not a dumbass. just a tad confused by the forum etiquette expectations of the board. so is it safe to assume that newbies are altogether banned from discussing topics that established members have already discussed?

forgive my excitement and overzealousness of wanting to be an active member and wanting to add my $0.02 to posts i find interesting. i guess i need to lurk more - post less. apologies... again.

1. TSR - being forced to scroll through a multitude of atwa, sunair (*gag*) and tabbylou "creations" to get to content that's actually worth downloading annoys me to no end.
2. peggy - no explanation really necessary. most of what i've payed for i've removed from my game.
3. reflex photoshop trickery. nothing EVER looks in game the way it does on their site. EVER. new 'highlight' set sofa looks exquisite on the site and looks like pure shyte in my game. huge gaps between the wood trim and upholstery. i never learn my lesson with this site. well at least i didn't pay for it this time...
4. carla niven - i've never downloaded anything from there, but after seeing that meat slab dress... there are just no words.

i have a pc - so does that mean there's hope for me? i didn't know an "integrated" graphic card was a bad. i'm truly ignorant to all of this. can u suggest an appropriate graphic card?

*nm* i just reread your post. i guess it's safe to assume i need a graphic card that has it's own memory. and it shouldn't be integrated. i'll figure it out. thank you guys SO MUCH.

that's really disappointing because i was actually on my way to get it and start the clean up of my initial clean up. i'm just going to have to be diligent and do it manually. i thought i had about 1000 files - it's actually 6,515. this is going to be FUN! thanks everyone for the help and advice. i'm off to tackle this monster.

jf - seeking in silence would have taken longer since i really don't have a clue about the machinations of the game beyond playing it. u helped me instantaneously. my display device/driver and sound driver resulted in unknown capatibility. thanks for your help. at least now i know where to start. didn't mean to aggravate u.

wow. if what u'r saying is true i'm REALLY in trouble. i didn't know u could or had to delete recolors one by one with the design tool.  :shock:

i was basically in the catalog clicked on the item, and then clicked delete. isn't the mesh file what shows up as the catalog icon? if not that means i possibly have errant meshes AND recolors left. i'll never find them now if that's the case. u guys are scaring me. i do not have a backup of my dl folder either. seems i really went about this the wrong way.

how do u do that? i really am ignorant to all of this. i need to fix this though. i just never knew where to go for help or answers. this is the first forum i've joined where i'm actually talking to people. i usually join, lurk and dl. i want seasons, but i'm afraid my pc will implode. it's getting progressively slower and the graphic thingy is happening more frequently with every dl. but i can't stop dling - it's a disease...

that's the biggest issue with my dl folder. i don't have any subfolders. it's got to be over 1000 files in one big undiscernible lump. and i even removed the dl's that came with subs. *shaking head* the only files that are in a sub are jmp's hacks. and i only did that because i was initially afraid of them. i like jmp - we have the same initials.

i have a huge job ahead of me guys. thanks for the guidance.

will do - thanks for the link, tim. my dl folder is completely out of control right now. and finding this site is not going to help the situation at all! i think i spend more time downloading stuff than i do playing the game. which is kinda pathetic when u think about it.

yes, angelica i have noticed that. sometimes one file will have all the colors, sometimes mesh and colors are separate. i understand now. i'm pissed for all the click click clicking i did last night thinking i deleted stuff. looks like i gave myself pre-carpal tunnel for nothing.  :x
