Nice sofas!

Back a year or more ago, when I first became aware of the TS2 community, the first big name I heard about was Numenor.  To use the stuff I was just starting to download, I had to download the CEP, and we all know who makes the CEP.  Then I read a bazillion posts were someone was trying to make something, had trouble with it, turned to Numenor, and he fixed it for them.  And when I pawed through the files at MTS2, every time I downloaded something of his, I saw a lot of fawning comments underneath it.  It started looking as if the whole TS2 community saw Numenor as god.  

Then I stumbled upon MATY, and the world was never the same again. :-)

Netseeker, I'm sorry to hear that you were treated so badly at TSR.  One of the things I love about playing The Sims is seeing how it seems to spark the creativity in so many different people and in so many different directions.  I hope you won't let a few jerks take away your joy in making things!

When people treat me badly and I have no way to get back at them, I often think about what it must be like to be them.  And when I think about how it must be to go through life paranoid or insecure or never able to be sincere with anyone or whatever, I realize that I don't have to punish them -- just living as who they are is already a huge punishment.  And the worse of a person they are, the bigger the punishment it is to have to go through life as them.  I don't know if that thought will help you or not, but I pass it along, just in case.

Hecubus, your Falling Water is stunning.  I can't imagine how much effort it must take to reproduce the place so exactly.  Just amazing.

I hate the real Falling Water, because it seems to me that Wright is more interested in showing off what an artist he is than in making a house that's actually livable -- when I took a tour of the place, the guide didn't show us the kitchen because "Mr. Wright doesn't like kitchens."  Um, it's usually considered the heart of the house.  What kind of jerk shortchanges someone else's kitchen because HE doesn't cook?

But even though I don't like Falling Water, I still like your simmification of the place -- it's amazingly detailed and accurate, a real masterpiece!

Wow.  Charging to fix something that was defective to begin with.  What if everybody did that?  Firestone is gonna recall your tires because they might cause your car to explode, but if you want them fixed, you'll have to pay half of what the tires cost you to begin with.  There'd be a riot!

This is really stupid and unfair, since most of the people who insult you probably do not speak German.

If you want to send me your words before you post your creations on MTS2, I can change them into better English for you.  I don't speak enough deutsch to do this directly from the German, but if you send me what the translator gives you, I can polish it up and make it sound better.

I don't think that you should have to do this, but if I were posting in a German forum, I'd want someone to help me!

I'm very sorry to hear about what happened to you and Smithy and Beck and all the others.  My only contacts with Katy were positive ones, but the site felt phony to me, and I only went there for downloads, not for talking.  I don't know what it's like now, but when I joined (a month after SMB opened), if someone rated any creation lower than 5 stars, the rater's reputation was lowered.  I've given lots of praise on SMB, MTS2, Insim, and elsewhere, and I love to tell creators how much I like their work.  But to have that be *forced* felt totally wrong to me.  I'm not surprised that everything on SMB wasn't as sweet as it seemed, but I am astonished to hear that the owners of the site were THAT mentally ill.

I hope you recover from your bad experiences.
