1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: In Ur Accounts, Deletin Ur Stuffs! on: 2009 November 29, 18:49:24
Woot...I made the list.  Under a name I have never used anywhere, just part of an e-mail addy.

Hard to understand where they got the info.  I don't use that name or e-mail here, GOS, Sims Cave, or the BBS.  On the BBS, I've been very vocal against SecuROM.  Only posted on the Sims 3 forum a few times(that place is a mess).  I may use that e-mail at GOS, not sure.

Back in the Sims 1 days I did have a sub at TSR.  The only file sharing I did was with my nephew.  I'd let him use my account to download.  During Sims 2, I've never had a sub there, nor have I file shared.  The only thing I can think of is many months ago I deleted my personal info off my account there and made up a nasty user name and e-mail.  This is when the news broke they didn't encrypt their passwords.  I may have had the same e-mail as the name listed.  Too long ago and really don't remember.

Well they are working hand in hand with Thoma$$ now.

If you are referring to Prism/RYG and TSR then you are so fucking wrong.  Prism/RYG is a neutral site for info.   Various  things are tested, including TSR's tool.  The first tests a few weeks ago showed no problems.  A different angle of attack was shown to the tester and he found the AV warnings. Without Prism asking or contributing to the fix, TSR did fix the programing.  It then tested clean for warnings.  All Prism did was the test the stupid tool both before and after.

Prism/RYG have no vested interest in the pay versus free debate.  In fact most of the sims players on Prism are against paysites, but that is not the mission of Prism/RYG.

Get your facts straight before you post such dribble.

3  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: IN UR COMPUTER, VIRUSIN' UR FILES! on: 2009 August 05, 23:25:39
Prism is not endorsing the tool, only ensuring that is free of any nastiness.  The methods used were very scientific and able to be reproduced.   Any claims about problems  should be able to be reproduced through testing and the scientific method accomplishes that.

There will be many who will use it, just because at this point it is easier to use then Delphy's.  Oh yeah, I know what will be posted...."they deserve to be infected if they use it"...they deserve to be hacked"...etc.  To me that is just plain mean and only lowers the person saying it to TSR's level.  Why would you wish that on those who may not know better?   I know because "TSR is thez ebilz" and anyone silly enough or gullible enough to use it is evil by association.

TSR has a shoddy reputation and personally I wouldn't download anything from there except for testing purposes, but personal feelings are shelved when testing for problems with modding tools or DRM's.  Prism is an educational place that many turn to for information and will always be neutral on issues. Prism is a not sims site and never will be.  Therefore we won't be dragged into many of the debates that have split the sims community.

To be fair to both sides Delphy's tool was tested also and came up clean all the way around.

So flame away, I need some laughs today.  Doubt you can do better then someone else.

Some nice person posted this on the BBS in response to a thread about Corinne's mesh being on TSR.
Name and thread link withheld to make the Maxoids' censorship job harder

And your thread disappeared about 10 mins ago.  But not before you got some benes.  There was no flaming in it only info that made T$r look bad.  Bet the sticky gets updated again.   Grin

What gets me about her attitude was that she demanded hard proof of TSR's wrong-doing.  Didn't want links to places she could read about all this, but she swallows TSR's bull with no problem.  That post by TSR had no hard evidence.  Think that little TSR sheep had too much Kool-aid.
6  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: In Ur Accounts, Deletin Ur Stuffs! on: 2009 April 02, 09:16:52
For me, I'm not trying to change world.  I'm doing the things I can live with.  Part of that is not supporting a company who has treated their customer base like criminals, supports a site that has been caught so many times doing unethical things, and just generally lacks consumer support.  There are a lot of fun games that have nothing to do with EA or the Sims.  And plenty of companies that actually value their customer.  Those will be the games I play.  I'll continue with Sims 2 and maybe someday I'll pick up a used copy of Sims 3.

@CatOfWar  for the BBS, tech might be the place to start.  That's how I've built my reputation and I'm no techie.  A lot of questions can be answered by linking to the help section at MTS2 or even from EA's help section.  Gameplay also is a good area or any of the expansion pack sections.   I still manage to get into trouble though.  Have been warned twice, once for 4 words in all caps and once for telling someone to google Squinge and choose the .org site lol.  I also have a troll(a favorite of several) that I butt heads with from time to time.

It also helps if you have friends that can bene you on the BBS.  Pm me your BBS name and I'll look for you to give benes.  If you are who I think you are on the BBS, your doing fine.  Funny posts also get bene's.  It's kinda pick and choose your battles on the BBS.

I've been getting server time outs for about 24hrs.  Figure this is the first place a lot people go to get the latest.

Maybe if their little "statement" had actually addressed what Shakeshaft did to Buggybooz, it would have more credibility.  Not one mention to what started the whole thing.  In fact at BPS, Buggybooz stated that "Tsr have actually suggested that it was me hacking my own account." http://blackpearlsims.com/showthread.php?t=24861&page=18

There are just to many coincidences for some of it not to be true.  If you connect the dots, it leads back to TSR.   I'm glad Delphy is still investigating.   I liked how the message had to spin what Steve told Delphy to match what Johan let slip on this forum.

The sad thing is that some will buy their statement.   Too many have that sheep mentality and won't believe the truth when it is right before them, but with every misdeed that TSR does more are having the blinders pulled off.

And why are you taking this fight to another forum?

Probably because the thread was locked over there and now it's closed? And this is the Insim discussion area.

What I find really sad, is suddenly we are at each other throats.  HWT does not usually post like that.  I was a member under a different name, and while I lurked more then posted, I read a lot of threads.  i think he is just under stress and feeling attacked. The staff is trying to get things back to normal as fast as possible.  Takes time away from getting the site up to handle wars in a naming thread.

I felt that because she didn't get her way at the new site, she came here to gather supporters.  We don't need another revolution so soon.  What happened to supporting the effort?  There will be bumps in the road and this is one of them.  Everyone needs to take a deep breath and realize we all have been through an emotional wringer, staff more so then anyone.

edit-cause I cannot multi-task well  Undecided

I'm really disappointed with the tone they are taking about the name discussion thing... basically no discussion, this is what we chose, take it or leave it.  So much for all us rebels banding together...  :shrugs:

There is no way they will please everybody.  They should never have opened it to comments.  Maybe have 4 choices to vote on.  I was on a site were they kept adding names to vote on and it was a mess.  People had hurt feelings when there suggestion would be weeded out.  Took forever to pick a name.  The sites need a name soon, not 3 weeks from now.

And yeah, HWT could have been more diplomatic, but your posts were pretty antagonist by themselves.  Give the staff a break, some things can't be as democratic as we would like, and they are under an extreme amount of stress.

And why are you taking this fight to another forum?
11  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Insim under new management! on: 2008 December 03, 01:36:39
In looking around, there was some hack by twojeffs that was called bender, that was to do close to the same stuff that insimenator does.  Why couldn't that one be used, and updated. Work with the creator of it, and give it a go?!!!

Wow, that sounds really cool. Good idea.

Okay, I rofled.

Me too!  Cheesy

me three

I'm with Paden on this one. We're the good guys, they're not. That's the difference.  Besides you don't want a piece of unsupported software sitting on your site.

Totally agree with this.  To me just having it would be a sick reminder of what they did.  Plus we may be Pirates, but we have ethics.

Passes rum around.
13  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Insim under new management! on: 2008 December 02, 23:23:54
In regards to Eric and Kathy's creations, those were the only creations they were entitled to sell.  My opinion, none of their stuff should be on the new site.  There are alternatives to insim.  Although for the 2 things I use the most, careers and toddler training, haven't found satisfactory replacements.
14  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Insim under new management! on: 2008 November 28, 09:11:33
Walt has made such a bad first impression, he may as well sell.  He came in all condensing, threatening to make the adult site pay and other things.  It is hard to change a bad first impression and takes lots of time.  Good old Walt doesn't have the time.  I've canceled my donation and will not donate to that air bag.  Have a feeling he thought he bought the creations, too bad.  Hope that all creators pull their content.

Lulz with what Pescado did, but slightly ticked as was posting at Insimadult when it went down.  Tongue

And Paden I'm so sorry for what you are going through.  Was not right what Kathy and Eric did.  I had posted at main site that while I appreciate what they have given to the community, was totally wrong to sell to someone outside the community.  Guess they got blinded by the $.
15  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: EA has been SUED TWICE! ARR! (1 more pending) on: 2008 October 16, 23:53:54
In searching the bbs, the earliest and only reference I could find to the removal tools was this

http://bbs.thesims2.ea.com/community/bbs/messages.php?&openItemID=item.21,item.104,item.41,item.127,item.23&threadID=ca9cea8b8f6ed84fdc97f42d919e009d&directoryID=21&startRow=1#114b2ce5e95f992a524694bb1c85dc9e

I kinda vaguely remember something about what you are asking about, but if it existed it went the way of many securom posts......pffft vanished.

Edit-checked with some else around back then and she remembers it too, so would have been before the date on that post.
