As a person with dark blue eyes who wears blue-tinted contacts, I would say that the dark blue eyes IMO are not too dark Smiley  However, if you brought them down one level they'd still be super.  Can't wait for you to post these!

I am scared of euterpes avi.

Hey!  I'm the resident baker here--what else am I supposed to have for an avi?''

*passes the fresh cookies to Squooshy*  Don't be terrified to post!  Welcome Smiley  It's only scary the first couple of times, then it's a snap.  And you've already been posting a bit, haven't you?  Still all in one piece so far??  Grin

To me that hairstyle looks like it could use a comb and a scissors taken after it with a vengeance. Haystack...

*giggle* Looks like my hair when I've been outside in a windstorm.  I have to agree with Paden here--just not my cup of tea.

I'm truly confused  Huh  I understand what you're saying, but you're definitely in the wrong place to try to sell this idea (pun intended  Cheesy )

I'm not going to repeat what Nii has already said very well.  IMHO (after a lot of years and money paying for garbage I ended up deleting from my game), the majority of the best creations are free.  And those who create/sell Sims creations for money when they know there are free/low cost sites available should, as my dearly departed father would say, go get a real job.

But this is by far not meant to govern everything regarding content. It's just a more community-friendly way to pacify the people that WON'T create WITHOUT money.

See above comment.  If they don't want to do it as a fun and free/low cost hobby, let 'em keep their stuff for themselves.  The rest of us don't need it that badly.

Ummm...just curious.  What did you do to get banned?

I personally don't think we should go into the TS1 business.  But, like Paden, I've got at least 3-4 gigs of stuff on supplemental hard drives and CDs that I could donate to the cause.  But I think TS2 is enough without adding to the mix.

I also vote for a WCIF section.  At least it would keep those who don't bother to lurk and read the FAQ before posting a place to put their requests rather than scattering them all over the rest of the forum.  I'd even *raises hand cautiously* volunteer to help organize it.  After all, for three years I dealt with people with the mentality of "Is my modem turned on?" while in an online technical support forum, so I developed the patience necessary to put up with the kind of questions we're likely to get.

I think we'd all agree that quality is a lot better than quantity.  It's so wrong to pressure creators to produce, produce, produce IMHO.  If it's supposed to be (1) fun and (2) a hobby, why should anyone feel pressured to create anything when they're not in the mood?  When they do, it's usually garbage and not worth having.  The creators that take their time and provide fewer but more quality creations are the ones I'd rather support Smiley

I have a lot of your things in my downloads forum, and I think they're all great!  My particular favorites are your fitness outfits--I think they're a thousand times more attractive than the ones EAxis provided us Smiley

Okay, I'm still learning new stuff every day...amazing at my age  Cheesy

There is free forum software, which SFV apparently did not like.  So they went to an expensive pay software, which the site owner cannot afford, so the site goes down, and no one knows why for two months  Huh

In the meantime, like Miss A pointed out, we have the lost SFV forum people over here asking "When will it be back?", which does get a bit annoying.

And SFV could use free forum hosting software, probably get some free hosting space for their files, and have the site back up and running in a short period of time, if I understand all this correctly.

*scratches head* I know I just woke up from a nap and may still be a little bit drowsy, but this seems like a no-brainer to me.

And BTW, creators over here do share their things with us.  I guess they just don't see the point of fixing damaged things when they can make their own and not borrow someone else's ideas.  And as some of us have said before, once we had the availability of paysite files, they lost their appeal, if you ever wanted them in the first place.  My downloads file is now 80-85% free downloads, and I like them a whole lot better Smiley

I'm just trying to understand why this is such a hard decision for TPTB at SFV to reach.  I'm more than willing to donate to sites for annual funding drives, or the like, but when there are free options available, why not take them?
12  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: SFV on: 2008 March 15, 22:09:56
I see--so it's the forum costs we're being asked to help subsidize.  I had no idea it was so expensive to run a forum (seriously--I'm not being sarcastic).  In that case, would it be possible to set up a separate forum area here for the SFV people to use, and let the members keep their files on mediafire, etc.?

Again, I'm not very familiar with SFV, so I'm just trying to get a handle on what sort of help could be provided here to expedite getting the site back up.  Money is certainly an issue here in the U.S., with the price of gas (and everything else) climbing higher all the time.  If we can figure out some way to do this that doesn't involve actual financial expenditures, that certainly seems to me to be a more logical solution.

Thanks for the info, guys.  Sounds like a place that if/when they get it back up I'll want to check out.  Like I need to download anything else  Roll Eyes
14  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: SFV on: 2008 March 15, 17:36:18
Not having been a big SFV person (I have an account, but think I only downloaded two or three times), what did they have that we do not eventually get here in the booty?  I know some of the hair in the booty comes from there, but what else did they provide as far as downloads are concerned that we do not here?

And I have never visited their forum, but I gather the postings are a bit less...direct than ours can be on occasion?  Wink

I grabbed 'em, Dachs--they'll look great on my back porch! Smiley
