Wow, reading that thread makes me now firmly believe that every single one of them is NOT making things for this game because they enjoy creating or sharing their creations. It's only either money or being worshipped and that's it. Everyone should see that thread so everyone knows what a buncha selfish, whiny assholes they are. I wouldn't give any of them a frickin dime.  Not to say that they aren't assholes, but to me that whole thing read more like people's feelings were genuinely hurt and they weren't so much concerned with the money - at least during this particular discussion. I know I'd be hurt be if I'd done something I was really proud of, something that hadn't been done before, and then was passed over for recognition - with that "recognition" going to someone nameless, whose accomplishment is unknown to me, other than that it was apparently better than anything I've done. I know I'm super late here (I mostly lurk here), but the thing that made me pissed over it was that opposition against good stuff being featured. I can understand being hurt if your creations are passed over, and that bonuses thing does hurt, but the issue I have is that BECAUSE it's pay it must be better, so there is no need for those slots for free creators. It makes it murky because of the pay line, but take MTS2. If a creation is featured but yours isn't, it just means make something else. And features and picks and front page stuff is all well and good, but you really should be making stuff for yourself anyhow. And if I remember correctly, one FA liked the front page stuff because of the extra traffic, and a lot of days there was no FA stuff to show. |

MTS2 is cliqueish, they approve anything from people that belongs to their clique and reject from people who donīt belong to their clique, no matter the quality and no matter if are pay itens in the screenshots. If you post questions at the support area they will copy and paste their rules page and lock the thread. Been there, done that and got 4 threads locked and HP telling me to shuddup.
Since MTS2 is a free site - despite the fact that not-so-retired Delphy is always asking for donations, what put me in doubt if we really could consider completely free because a lot of people donate but the site is 50% of the time offline and have a slow slow traffic - I am not going to extend myself too much but I think these points should be considerated specially for those who donate to the site. I donated once myself but I will never made this mistake again, in fact I removed all my stuff from MTS2 because I donīt like what I see going on there.

There's so much bullshit in your post that I hardly know where to begin. 1) People need to not put payshit in their screenshots in the first place! This is not a new rule. The mods don't have time to hold your hand through everything and shouldn't have to. They're volunteers and don't get paid to put up with all that they do. They also shouldn't be expected to know what all the payshit looks like. In regards to 1, what dani is saying is that some paystuff in photos does get through, and there are still photos around the site with paystuff in them, especially with some popular creators. It gets frustrating for someone who has half a vase in a picture that shouldn't be when there still pictures with paystuff prominently displayed, or they run into roadblocks over some stuff that has been free for a while. I've seen pics well after the new rule with paystuff in it, and it was usually a talented creator. And there are a lot of issues people have with MTS2, but I won't really go into it here, because we're pro-free and we don't talk about the quality of free stuff. I do know why Dani gets angry about MTS2 like she does. |

Seriously, I love you Cala. I was racking my brain to figure out when anyone said anything about jfade being a horrible person. Is it just me, or are people from TSR almost always deluded about how we feel about them? Remember one of Atwa's friends who was all angry about how "badly" we'd treated Aikea Guinea and Geldyh when they went free?  Could you upload the screenshots Tomato? If you have them? |

The thing with LiveJournal is irritating me though, because they suspended it. I'm not very active in LJ, but I used to be and it used to be that unless you really broke a major rule (like posting child pornography) they would tell you that you had X amount of time to remove the offending material. The fact that they just suspended it, is weird. It implies that someone who had a lot of pull with LJ had their panties in a twist. I don't think Atwa has that type of pull with LJ. I don't think Thomas does either.
Long shot here, but the only thing I can imagine TSR being able to get a quick bitch on was the fact that she pasted up PMs. Maybe TSR claimed that since they were PMs from TSR, that the background images and all such, were property of TSR and thus, could not be posted. But even then, it shocks me that LJ didn't just send Paleoanth/Tomato a "Take that down now" email.
I honestly agree with you here. There's lots of crazy shit on LJ; it has to be some seriously crazy shit for them to take it down or someone with monstrous pull. |

Oh for heaven's sake, leave him alone. Hanging out on TSR doesn't make someone evil any more than being a Muslim makes someone a terrorist. Jfade has contributed a great deal to the community and has never charged money for his work. He shouldn't have to give up his old friends and haunts just because the place has changed since he got there. Aren't there some real paysite owners out there who need harrassing?
Please. I was fine with him. However, I'm still upset that he's at TSR. I don't think that every person at TSR or who has been at TSR is evil. However, he still sat in a thread while illlegal stuff was going on. And unlike Aikea Guinea, he hasn't addressed it at all. I'll say it again. NOT EVERY PERSON WHO IS AT TSR OR HAS BEEN AT TSR IS EVIL. HOWEVER, I WILL ALWAYS THINK AND SAY THAT YOU SHOULDN'T BE THERE. You don't have to listen to me. There's nothing I can do to make you. I could talk all day and get my GoSling friends to persuade you to leave. But I won't stop saying that TSR sucks just because you like it. I'll salute the fact that you have a free site, that you pay for, but I still will be honest and say your "haunt" sucks. |

I never said you were a horrible person. I didn't see anyone saying you are, compared to Thomass and Atwat (sorry, not losing the nicknames here). I still think TSR is a cesspit, no matter how many homey feelings you have for it. It makes me sad because you don't have to be there. You're Awesome.
ETA: Also, before people think I'm blowing over the pirates just to be friends, I still think that knowing about TSR breaking Paypal's TOU and not doing anything about it is heinous. I forgave AG for it because since she has gone free, I've seen nothing but good intentions toward us and filesharers. And I find it funny that the one quote that says you're not a horrible person (my quote) is used. I'm sad because someone so good at creating and such is at TSR, and I'm sad for the community.

It's sadder that they've supported putting someone in danger by ilegally publishing their personal info and afterwards, not alerting anyone or anything.
That's sad too, but an angry-sad.  But it makes me sad for the community when good creators, artists, or what-have-you are pay or with TSR (TSR is just that bad). When I even see a good creator over there, it makes me sad.  This whole mess though? It's simply sickening. |

I didn't know that jfade was at TSR until today. I assumed since he was sorta a regular at MATY (he posted the Compressorizer there) that he had never set a toe in that cesspit.
Is he still an FA? How nice of him to condone this kind of crap. I searched, and he's not anymore, so yay! But boo because I never thought he was. It actually makes me sadder when a creator goes pay or has been pay and I didn't know it. |

That's what I've hoped. It's going to be spread all over the place - is it not better for her to deal with one person on one forum, than dealing with all the sims communities out there? Would she prefer emails, or guestbooks, or Simsecret? And when it does come up, someone will link here, and it will be over.
I think you're being a little optimistic. No matter if Aikea writes a book here about her exploits on TSR, tons of 12-s will say, "tl;dr" and spout the shit that's been paraphrased. Don't believe me? Exhibit A: GoS's "takeover" of Simsecret. Started with misunderstandings and was "cleared up" but not really. Ended up with a whole bunch of GoSlings making secrets about us being awesome and others making secrets about "emo geese." Stupid people still think we "took over" SimSecret even though there are a lot of us with LJs and the number of secrets was dwindling. Just Saturday someone said that we should make a "gossimsecrets" because they're were three secrets about people from GoS (most of whom had LJs). An anonymouse also said that we "took over SimSecret." People still make secrets about A&G being overrated, how their stuff is pretentious, and people fangirling just because they're free. That's not really going to change much. |
