Stupid husband watched stupid Firefly and eventually stupid me had to watch and stupid me now loves stupid Firefly and it's stupid. Same stupid thing happened with stupid Cowboy Bebop. Stupid husband! We are in a fight. No one calls Bebop stupid in my presence! *threatens Dusdeedawn with broken rum bottle* Gayle, those alarms are awesome looking! I would love some variety.

I've spent quite a chunk of time wading through this thread... Goodness. First off, I want the $11 I donated back in Jan. back. Broke druid is broke, and could use it. Second, it's disgusting K&E have probably been making a profit on all this, scamming everyone.... But notice, not many people are surprised since they acted so shady *at the time* even - Not telling people how much more they needed, not taking down the drive post for quite a while (if ever? I barely visit), etc. I do feel sorry for all the people who sunk lots of time and effort into keeping the site running. That really sucks for you guys. This Walt person has definitely bitten off more than he can chew. /vastunderstatement I don't mean to be all sensitive or whatever you want to call it, but I dislike the slamming of his appearance. I know lots of people do it to Atwat too, but it just sounds so juvenile and drags us down a bit from our obviously-superior position. It strikes me as very 12 to be like "Yeah and he's UGLY TOO!" as a finishing argument. Just my thoughts at least, and I just wanted to bring it up once - I won't mention it again. Also, I am seriously disturbed by the offering of Pescado cookies. Are they laced with something? What would be considered "tough" cookies, since clearly those are the only kinds he would enjoy? I believe there's likely some kind of deadly poison in them that, of course, Pes has spent the last few years developing an immunity to. After I saw him quote the Princess Bride I now have it on brain. Of course Squinge should come over to "the dark side" but maybe... don't eat the cookies just yet. Fake edit: In the time it took to write this, 25 new replies were posted. O_o Apologies if someone already addressed what I did, I did a quick skim through of the replies but may have missed it.

Now, without really knowing what went on, dani has been perfectly behaved here as I've seen. Please stop delurking to bring up ridiculously OLD FIGHT that's from another forum, like 8(?) years ago. Old fight is old AND irrelevant.
dietofworms: lesson in comparative asshattery, lawl.
Also: there's a good reason Pescado calls inteen the kitten-killer. :p

Perhaps I'm simply not "USian" (as opposed to 'worldly') enough, but some of the phrases I see nothing wrong with using them or how they say we pronounce them. Why is "you guys" weird? And I NEVER pronounce it "melk" or "ayeggs" for milk and eggs. It makes me twitch when I hear people say it that way... And yeah, it sucks here... badly. The fiance-type (I need to find a shorthand way to refer to him... something awesome like "Mr Coolington" like cala has for her husband, but not as boring as "boyfriend" or whatever) and I are both struggling looking for jobs. I have something temporary that ends at the end of the month (sigh), and his degree doesn't lend itself to jobs around here... we don't have many nuclear plants. :p We've been looking to relocate elsewhere, but it's hard since we want, apparently, totally different things. We wanted west coast, I wanted east; he likes HOT weather, I prefer cooler; etc. I'm convinced we're going to get jobs offered to us simultaneously on opposite ends of the country and one of us is going to have to turn it down. Have any of you guys had any experience with this sort of situation? I would like some advice.

I'm from Michigan, so I just sound like an American news anchor who extends her "a"s sometimes . http://www.michigannative.com/ma_home.shtml <--the "michigan accent" guide... it's funny. I'm a michigander as well. The only accented English I really struggle with is Scots. It sounds as if it's missing most of its consonants.
I do ok with Scots... I had an old bf who was a brit, and he had some welsh family. Took me years to understand them. @_@ There's nothing wrong with it, I just had never heard a welsh accent before.... totally new and confusing for me lol. I think they just thought I was a stupid American...

Speaking of anti-virus progs going wonky and spyware, I took this back in June, and totally forgot to post it. I laughed. They're "fine" now (bastards) but, for one shining moment...

Hanging out on TSR doesn't make someone evil any more than being a Muslim makes someone a terrorist.
I vote for a new addendum (or whatever the correct term is... corollary? It's late here.) to Godwin's Law that includes terrorists. That was ridiculous, BootStrapBill.

I seriously have NO IDEA how I got it into my head that Corvidophile = Nixy. Absolutely none. Sorry. (This sort of thing is exactly why I try not to post. Clearly I know nothing. :p)

I have an obsession with cool mugs, so I just had to pick up the RETARdoh "bingo" board one. I liked the different options (colored lip, inside, stein, what have you). I know you've reached your goal, but put it toward next year or whatever... Pescado can finally buy a light for the bunker?

The only reason I know what Turkish Delight is was because of that Narnia book.
That was the same for me. As a kid, I always wondered what it was, since they made it sound so good - When I came across it at a specialty store back in high school, I immediately grabbed a small package of it. It was a Rose flavored turkish delight candy bar... I took one bite and almost retched. SO SWEET. It was like eating potpourri gel. I was so disillusioned! Why would Edmund do what he did* for THAT stuff... (It does explain why he gets awfully sick afterward though! ) * It know it's been like 50 years since the books were written, but someone always bitches when you give stuff away, even though I think the statute of limitations on spoilers for this is WAY past...

Someone actually not only claimed she'd installed the game on -four- computers, but stated that securom did nothing to your computer, that anyone who said was blaming their lack of a decent computer on securom, and that all the various articles on securom was shoddy reporting.
Now, I did A Very Stupid Thing (t) and, due to some switching of hard drives and other things, I accidentally ran Apartment Life without replacing the .exe with the cracked version. Lo and Behold, my shiny laptop got SecuRom. It promptly fucked up my DVD burner - It would tag any blank cd AS SOON AS i put it in the the drive so that it was "not blank" and therefore not valid media. (It took me a few tries to realise this - I now have a few shiny coasters.) It wouldn't read burned discs that I was absolutely sure were good (I had used them previously, on the same computer, multiple times). Thank goodness for the instructions at MATY, I replaced the .exe with the correct version (give me a good poking for not doing it in the first place... distraction is no excuse!) and removed suckurom from my computer. My dvd burner, luckily, seems to be in perfect working order again. Amazing coincidence, of course... I'm glad Sony views me making backups of my digital pictures and important documents as some sort of SUPAH ILLEGALZ and awful activity. Now, this was obviously not the Spore version. (And didn't they change the # of installs to 5? I'm pretty sure they did.) However, my computer is nice and still pretty new. Bought in April, it's a laptop w/ 2.0 gHz Pentium CoreDuo (whatever the mobile version is), 3 gb RAM. It's not a piece of shit - It's not top of the line, either, but, seriously, it's perfectly serviceable and not to blame for the burner going wacky.
