Well this whole thread is personal information and it's been around for a very long time. Personally I think it's relevant because people are paying this person money and you can see where it's going and to what sort of person and what their mentality is like. I am not TSR and I am not hacking into anyones accounts or stealing anything that is not purposely and freely put out on the net anyway and easy enough to find, but if you want to play net nanny then fine I will delete it and probably take my ass out of this place too for a while because you know what, of all places I really don't think people here should get up on some moral high horse or start censoring.  Roll Eyes

Have I mentioned lately how much I loathe photoskinning?

It was a necessary evil in TS1, somewhat tolerable in TS2 as long as it wasn't too extreme but I am sorry this is 2009 and we have better computers and the game engine is meant to be fully 3D and high detail. If you need shape to something either make a mesh or don't do it.
3  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Ugliest Paysite Creation Find: Round Two. on: 2009 August 22, 15:19:46
Well here's the thing. Hair meshes are hard to create completely from scratch but it's relatively easy to edit and tweak (or simply convert) an existing mesh if you have even those most rudimentary knowledge of how to use a 3D editing program. The TSR people take the route of tweaking the existing game hair meshes which tend to make for fairly similar looking hair.

Other creators, like Peggy and Rose and so forth, steal their meshes from other sources like Poser. They appear to have new completely different hairstyles because they took the lame shortcut to rip them off from someone else in some other community. Since those meshes are generally not well known in the Sims community it appears new to us and everyone goes ooh ahhh.

Now I am definitely not one to be a defender of TSR but in this case their meshes look the same because they are using game meshes and not ripping them off from somewhere else.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I'm uncomfortable with links outside of the sims community being linked to, especially with personal information on it and yes, even if it is public.  :/

Well those sites have settings to make your page private and in fact Facebook defaults to private so if someone made their page public they intentionally set it so.

[links removed to appease Miss Angelica  Roll Eyes Do a Google search if you want them]

He's chilled the hell out with the nasty talk because his mom is on his Facebook but he is still whiney and complaining about everything under the sun, how much his life sucks, how depressed he is bla bla.

He's got some inane Facebook quizzes too like that he's 94% bored, and that his best quality is being generous  Roll Eyes

Oh and he seems to have a thing with posting fart joke youtube videos.

Openhouse Jack has discriminating tastes and I am sure he buys only the highest quality used dirty jockstraps. He will not be buying Fruit of the Looms from some overweight balding 60 year old, it must be Calvins or 2Xists from a hot guy (or someone who uses a picture of a hot guy) for him!

Sometimes with as much as he whines about things, and his writing style, I wonder if he really is the age he claims.  Roll Eyes

As much as I would like to think he is a snot nosed whiney spoiled 12, sadly I have seen photographic evidence to the contrary.

Sims3 is quite an expensive game especially if you want to create as well. Why? Some of the tools needed to make CC are not free, and the tutorials were not made for beginners. I guess it will take some time for me to learn not only to make CC but uploading them.

I hope I can afford not only the game but the needed programs needed for the tools to work. cross fingers and toes

Oh Openass jack. Complaining because of what? You actually have to PAY for milkshape! Poor little paysite owner who is paying his way through school with his paysite.  Roll Eyes

Hey now, he has other expenses too you know, like dirty jockstraps to buy. They aren't cheap!

Somebody really needs to make a simple program to extract a sims3pack to package without some fancy pants installer asking you a bunch of questions. I know Delphy has his sims3pack installer thing so maybe try that one out.

Once you get it to a package it's super easy to compress, just drop it on the s3rc.exe file from Pescado's site and that's it.

Well the economy thing isn't just effecting going out though. I read a news report the other day that said video game sales are down and kind of in a slump.

Of course there were two large companies that were exceptions to this and were doing quite well in spite of the economy.

You can guess which one one of them was. Tongue

You can extract Sims3packs to package files and then compress the textures in S3PE. There's various tools to do the extracting from Jfade, Delphy etc.

I should go try it on those elder clothes and yeah I agree that files size is nuts.

Edit: Okay got the Elder Tunic file down from 22 MB to 1.5 MB  Shocked

Here it is if someone can't be arsed

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nzgzghz5ztj

But here's what I did. First I loaded it in JFade's 3Viewer tool. I 'installed' it but chose to install it on the desktop. It created a package file with a hashed up gibberish name which I renamed. Then I dragged the package file onto Pescado's s3rc.exe and voila 22 down to 1.5 and no launcher needed to install.

Oh and found this by randomly looking at the BBS (don't ask)

Apparently, patterns won't show on it but you can change the color.

Poly count is 1882 so not so bad.

You know, when I was reading this thread I was scrolling down, saw this at the bottom of the page and thought 'Oh, Peggy's got a new female long hair. Probably won't animated worth a shit though'.

Then I saw the rest of the picture  Shocked

Also, her Puddings deeply disturb me. They all look exactly the same and have the same vacant, hollow stare.

However, the most interesting works are placed only for the registered subscribers.
Understand us correctly, we squander time, forces and money in order that you could enjoy good skins and objects in a game.
A traffic which appears as a result of download of skins and objects costs large money.
Be therefore adequate and not write spiteful letters to us.
Better play in The Sims or do some interesting work which you will be able to place on a site (write to the administrator and he with pleasure will give possibility of permanent authorship to you).

What the hell sort of ESL talk is that?

And that second bathroom kind looks like it could work for World Adventures if you are playing a mummy living in a pyramid. Tongue
13  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Openhousejack on: 2009 August 21, 01:20:51
Well as long as he finds sheep to pay him (or to pay TSR to pay him, after Thomas gets a majority cut, of course) and parents who refuse to kick him out then I guess he never will get a job.

Denise is probably his drag name.
14  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Openhousejack on: 2009 August 20, 07:01:46
Okay, I know this is like super duper crypt keeper necromancy, yeah yeah. But I was curious and I had to do a where are they now on him. Tongue

His site's still around. Still pay. He's had some TS2 updates as of July and a few TS3 (non pay) things http://openhouseforsims.com/index2.html

He's also still on TSR, in fact, he's been cranking out a steady stream of TS3 stuff very recently with some more on the way it looks like.

http://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/openhousejack/

He is currently only a "Select Artist" for TS3 so it seems like he is trying to become a Featured Artist.

I guess since the demand for TS2 content is dwindling he's got to find some way to pay for those dirty jockstraps on Ebay.

I also noticed on his profile for housing he put "parents basement", who publicizes that?

And for job he's got "I'm studying". Studying what, proctology?

Singed is when your sim gets burnt or electrocuted. Basically only one hair should be set to singed and that's the singed hair. You wouldn't want a sim walking around all dark and roasty looking in torn clothing with a perfectly coifed bouffant.
