Adele's stuff is gorgeous unfortunately that set is very high in polys...87.3 MB.WOW!!

Actually the polys are ok its just the file sizes of the sink colours which are huge. 15MB of alternative sink colours, to be precise, out of a total 20MB for the entire set. I dont know why she says its 87.3MB, according to my laptop its 8.3MB..

I noticed you dont have ColourSims listed. Amaranth does high quality objects, updates regularly and is completely free.

I am severly disappointed. Has she given any reasons yet? Corvi is quite well known and respected, if she needed help with server fees then she just needs to say.

Hrm what happened to WB? And Shanow..do you have an account at TSR with the same password, then? I wonder how they, if it was them, managed to achieve the hacking.

rum nate, all EULAs typically have that in. A company that would admit blame for a fault their program may have caused? Unlikely in most circumstances.

Thats what I noticed MissB, and this part:

(g) Creations compiled and exported from the SOFTWARE PRODUCT ("CUSTOM CONTENT") include both original "The Sims 3" game content and materials which remain copyright Electronic Arts Inc. and its licensors. All Rights Reserved. Original artwork including 3D Meshes, Textures and Images remain the property of the original artist as per international copyright laws.

4. COPYRIGHT
All title, including but not limited to copyrights, in and to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and any copies thereof are owned by IBIBI HB or its suppliers. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the content which may be created through use of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is the property of the respective content owner and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws and treaties. This EULA grants you no rights to use or redistribute such content.

So they are saying that even though the content belongs to EA, if you make it through the Workshop it is deemed original artwork and is therefore under copyright of TSR and the original creator at the same time?

Does anyone know what the terms of this workshop program are? If it comes with an EULA of sorts (which I presume it does) and what that says.

Well, Pescado did ask for riots. Cheesy Although its all gone now and there are no screenshots, boo...and PMing is more effective then posting.

TSR has just made a lot of their TS3 content pay as well. 15 pages worth of pay content, from what I can see.

Paden, it is not a surprise that someone would do this but it hardly means we are not outraged - personally I am furious over it, and I will admit that you saying that we know longer cares does annoy me. I do not have TS3, and do not intend to (they are too pudding for me), but still see the free community creating the tools and getting fucked over for it. Peggy does not play the game, she just creates products and sells them, and TS3 is another arena for her to do this in. And that line from Thomas that Pescado quoted a page back, well, I can hardly begin commenting on it..

As Wes has property rights over his tool then he can likely do something about this..I have not read anywhere where he has said what he is going to do so that is still up in the air. Likely an email from him would be more effective then flaming ones...discussions have greater effects then bashings. As a community, I say boycott - we should not allow this to happen.

UPDATE
We have confirmation that Peggy has callously disregarded the license prohibitions against making Payware with the WesHtool.

No surprise there. So what is Wes going to do about it? When Delphy releases his tool, am sure she (and others) will do the same.
12  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: New paysite opens (JB Sims) on: 2009 July 05, 09:08:38
Actually the purple dress is just a recolor of an all-about-style dress http://www.all-about-style.com/adult_fefor_2.html and the yellow is from Foomika http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=310606 . I guess the others are also stolen.

Are you sure they are just recoloiurs? If so then AllAboutStyle and Foomika need to be contacted.. neither of them are going to be pleased to learn that someone is selling dodgy recolours

Also, I thought webstarts was a free site domain register and host. Or at least, it has a completely free option for both. RiotOnTheRooftop, where did you find the link?

I love candles and therefore love that candle. You just fed my bizarre obsession some more marikocha Cheesy I also adore the the stack of books function as a function, as I do enjoy having clutter but not pointless no-function objects.

Pardon my necromancy, a user at SimsCave posted an email they recieved from dear Newsea which I think you all would be interested in and this seems the revelant thread. Hope Julia does not mind me reposting this here.

Hi Julia~

They always say I'm greedy, indeed NEWSEA earn very tiny(with this forum's help)and even can't effort my life, infact I creat SIMS work everyday and have no other job~
The download will never know creator's hardness, they just click DOWNOAD button(and saying, meshing is funny,I wish I can make mesh)modify mesh is so boring, you should mend it again and again~I need do it day by day, even when I'm not glad to do this.
And indeed there is not so many good free creators~even if there is some, they can update very very slow
and many free site closed, why, interest will cool down,if there is no benefit .(I don't think someone just mix a texture called recolor is a creator)

It's hard, but I wanna go on,and what they did just make a creator disapear from the world.
By the way,EA's SIMS is also virtual, why they not claim SIMS as a pixel flower and reject to pay for it?

greeting
NEWSEA

Yes, you read right folks, Newsea's defence for being a paysite is that he/she has no other job and is better then free creators.

I have to agree with some of the whining on SimSecrets though, there really isn't any truly well done dark skin.  I understand that it could be a graphics issue, but to me, the darkest skins aren't really all that dark.

Oh I agree with that. The one I am most fond of as a darker skin is Enayla's Pixie Ebony, which may not be to your taste but thought you may like the link
