2  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: In Ur Accounts, Deletin Ur Stuffs! on: 2009 April 18, 15:23:49
TSR has always been a rip-off  so what else is new ?They are apparently in a turmoil over lost subscribers however since all their stunts have been brought out to the public.I received a TSR newsletter Shocked for the first time in eons offering me 30% percent off the sub price if I would just renew  my old defunct paid sub from 6 months  ago to TSR.my reaction to the offer was to delete the newslettter.

The flip side is that I have kept and added  free site subscriptions to list of forums I head to for custom content.I have used the booty since it opened and see no reason to "pay" TSR  another dime. Tongue

These are all SAD excuses for STEALING
uhh Hello??? is any home here?? or are thelights on and nobody is home? the creations you speak of first of all are legally owned By  "gasp" EA/Maxis and it so states exactly that in the user agreement  further EA clearly states that no "profit" is to be made using the tools they provide that allows these creations to be made. If that were not plain as day no stole anything each file posted here was purchased and then shared among a group of friends here! so absolutely no stealing has taken place here  .all creators are credited for thier items  and they were legally purchased from each site. this is a file sharing site nothing more :!: if anyone is entitled to make a profit off these items it would be Maxis/EA as they own all copyrights etc to the Sims2 and expansions and therefore all creative license is also owned by EA as the tools it takes to make this stuff is provided  By EA!!!! I suggest before posting gobbledygook you reread the User agreement From EA/Maxis in regards to all CC created for their Copyrighted ,registered product. Did any of your not so friendly paysite owners consult with and obtain permission from EA to profit off of their product? EA expressly forbids that in the user agreement. claiming that making  a dress or a bed is a Job designed to support ones family from a product you don't have legal rights to is plain old Bullshit! if you want to be paid for creating items for the Sims2 Get a Job with EA Games at least then it will be legal. EA hires designers to make content for their games and pays them  to do just that! if you don't work for EA and you are selling products made from their tools to people for the express purpose of making a profit then it is you the paysite owner who is stealing  :!:

If people actually download from that site I think it would only be appropriate for creators to stage at least one day of "pay for everything". Granted I don't think that anyone would / should pay but it's the idea of all the sites banding together to show support for those who've been robbed.

I didn't think anyone would be able to top that "download spree to kill Pescado's bandwidth" plan in terms of stupidity. How the hell does this make ANY SENSE?
It doesn't make sense and if she was so "hip" on the law she would know its a federal crime to transmit viruses "knowingly" over the internet.secondly some one paid for these files  she is claiming are stolen. this is a file sharing site not a den of thieves

err is she aware that technically all sims2 creations are technically the property of EA/Maxis as the Game itself is a copyrighted Creation belonging soley and legally to EA/Maxis
6  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / random ban of the week on: 2006 October 24, 21:08:27
I have been relatively lucky so far...........the only ban of the week I have had was from the BBS   I tend to be uber helpful pointing the sheep toward Hacks that fix game issues and the BBS doesn't like that

8  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / For Lyriclee on: 2006 October 22, 08:23:30
ahh Lyric Lee is a classic example of someone who has let a title go to her head    I can't help but shake my head at all  the files she downloaded and no doubt is enjoying in her Game immensely. what's hysterical is her defense that she did it because she was asked to.......to supposedly "help" the pay sites creators.....  mm'kay sure but wouldn't one "file" from each "paysite" be sufficient? why the literally dozens? heeck I downloaded tons of those files but my claim as to why ? I wanted them for my game . totally selfish here LOL no way  am I going to represent  that I did it  for the CC creators good because "they requested it yeah right Lyric Lee the spree says other wise
