1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / TSR IS A SUCK-ASS SUCKY WEBSITE on: 2007 January 09, 01:41:37
I HATE the fact my favorite Sims site, Sims2sisters went over to their darkside (TSR).

I used to get whatever I wanted from TSR from a fellow simmer before all this paysite/share controversy started. I really never go there anymore. I am sure I've caught at least one virus in the past from that place.

I agree with Lookatmytreasurechest.

Again, I also mean no offense if you like those long haired, girly guys but I like my sims men (overall) to look like men. I hardly have any long haired ones and if I do, they get beards or other facial hair.  I do have the odd one in my game with some of those 'rock star' styles but overall I tend to use the Maxis short haired ones or the curly locks by HP.

Pets IS small, low on content and interactions. The new stuff, besides the dogs and cats, simply is crap, like they started it but didn't finish it sufficiently to be actually usable, playable, for instance the catalogue changes and the diagonal roofs.

Amen. I am so tired of hearing HOW GREAT Pets is. So many people jumped on me when I said it was garbage--it's the worst expansion. (at least we got some useful items with University).

I have given up interacting with the Pets in my game. I find they add little to gameplay.

I just want to find mens hair that isn't going to induce my grandmother to come out of her grave and snarl "You cut that hair!! You want people should think you look like a sheepdog?"

Does every man on the planet HAVE to have hair that covers the eyes and is oh so emo? The vast majority of my male sims are stuck with Maxis hairs because of that.

I agree with you. I cannot STAND all these girly looking guys. Someone at S2C was complaining about it.  Maybe it's an age thing but I CANNOT stand all the 'femme' hair on men. (some, okay, but a lot just looks weird).
5  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / The Sims2-community are a bunch of nutters! on: 2006 December 30, 01:07:34
Not everyone is a nutter. I think because creating for the Sims is 'creative' and artistic (if you're talented, that is) you will get the same sort of fringe egomaniacs that you find in 'acting,', 'writing,' and 'art.'

Some people just crave thanks. I think we all like people to enjoy what we make.  Just certain 'unstable' people go overboard.

Sometimes we need to be reminded it's just a game.  A fun and time consuming game, true, but still just a game. Smiley

The only people who annoy me are the ones that think what they do makes them above everyone and SAY IT like the rest of us are 'losers'.
6  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Have the paysite debates changed your mind? on: 2006 December 29, 17:08:55
Well, I have been lurking here a long, long time. I respect the right of people to create things (and sell them if they find a buyer) but I have to say my eyes have been opened by the spoiled and babyish way some of these 'creators' have reacted.

Selling information? That smacks of telemarketers--another whole group who should be destroyed. Childish rants about how you are some uber, alpha being and the rest of us are scum? What the hell?

I really can't stand drama queens or people who set themselves up as 'super people' because they make computerized items.  Yes, a lot of pay stuff is great, but there is a whole lot of free stuff just as good or better.

I have not paid for custom content because I'm cheap and like value for my money. While I admire many of the items you can buy, I can't see spending when I have generous friends who share with me. Smiley

Once you spend your money, you have the right to do what you want with the items. If that means emailing it to your best friend or posting it, well, it was paid for.

In addition, the vague replies from EA/Maxis/Whoever they are confirms to me that yes, this is just a game, and no, they don't care what's going on with these pay sites.
