If you run a paysite, you are stealing intellectual property and trying to make a buck off the community by reselling things that depend on tools that are free and a game engine owned by EA. Why are you shocked that someone who has the balls to steal from a huge, international company would likewise have the balls to steal from peers?

A dutchie is slang for a pot cigarette, a factoid that made the one-hit wonder in the 80s, "Pass the Dutchie" (Musical Youth did it, maybe?), more interesting.

I don't get the embarrassment factor of saying "doo-chee" instead of "doo-knee" in public ... the other anecdotes seem to refer to bodily functions being talked about loudly and overheard by strangers, so the connection escapes me.

Me, being 6, found the pussy and ass together on one of the glasses to be lulzy. Of course, I hadn't slept for 42 hours at the time. I have no such excuse now that I'm sharing this with you, because I've had a nap.

That hair looks like the poor girl gave up trying to detangle it halfway through the job, and just ponytailed it.

That said, I have used that hair on one of my African-American Sims, and she looked cute in it, though it wasn't that particular weird shade of henna'd red.

If you did it, you won't do it again, so all's well as far as I'm concerned.

The page is not written by just one person. Random people send in artwork they make to confess their secrets.

This is pretty clear if you wait for the whole thing to load or read the text at the botytom of the page, but not at all obvious if you're in a hurry.

There's always the very satisfying ritual neener-neener, "I told you so," "We were wrong, you were right," "Kiss my butt, you and your lame "ZOMFG Copyright Abuse!!" lawyer letters complaining about the copyrighted content you stole from EA that got bought from you and then shared," and the gloating and smugness.

Not that we would ever be so petty.

It might be nice to feel a TEENSY bit smug for being on the side of the angels, though, in compensation for some of the crappy attitudes and fucked-up attitudes paysite owners have had while trying to justify their theft (of intellectual property for personal commercial gain) all these years.

We can be a little smug for a while.

And make a big Graveyard full of pixel tombstones and dance on each grave, giving them all the attention they deserve, in proportion to how sucky they were. TSR would have a 67892 page thread; 11dots might luck out and get a few posts.

Maybe we can shift focus and go after Intellectual Property Thieves. You know, the REAL kind, the ones who steal original objects from people who made their stuff from scratch, not someone stealing from Poser or EA or another Sims 2 content creator and then whinging when someone steals their stolen items from them in return.

There'll be more Nouk's Hair Dun Got STOLED!!!eleventy-1EINZ10rz!!! posts, and the hate for TSR may never fully die out, but we probably won't be interested in poking at unimportant, crappy content providing small fry like [name goes here].

It won't be as busy, but that can be seen as a good thing.

Maybe Pes will turn it into a Dominions2 forum, or a forum specifically to host Peasantry content and MATYVILLE pix.

Who knows?

Maybe EAxis will do what it has always done, which is act outraged, do nothing, and then shuffle the papers into a circular file somewhere, and then act outraged again a few months later when the matter is brought to their attention again.

Bless 'em if they finally grew some legal beagle cojones and decided to protect their customers from scam artists, and themselves from copyright infringement.

A (very) quick revision:

"EA now recognizes paysites as a problem, but we want them to actually take action against them.

Paysites have broken so many rules, bullied so many people, profited off of other people's hard work, even broken laws. They were always protected, and they always covered themselves by saying 'EA is okay with it, so we can do what we want'.

Well, EA is NOT okay with it. And it's time for them to do something about it.

If you agree that EA should take action against (and/or disallow the existence of)  paysites, please sign this petition. Maybe we can make a difference if EA see what their community (and part of their livelihood) thinks."

That was not directed at you, and if you choose to take offense after I explained why I wrote that (again: I did not want a long debate about what the official stance on requests that aren't for booty that did not have someone who could actually clarify the issue because THEY KNOW what the site rules are because they were tapped to enforce them), then that is YOUR choice.

Feel free to decide to feel persecuted, and to be snarky about it, but my world does not revolve around you. This is a request, but it is not a request for Sims 2-related things, which (I think) is what the No Requests Rule applies to (let me know if I am wrong, IF you are a moderator here).

Some of you (Sistah Hecubus, testify!) know the horror I went through with Geek Squad in March. I had to re-buy MS Office, replace all my Adobe programs, you name it. Several programs I bought legal student license downloads for were completely destroyed, despite having serials. I had to reinstall my ISP files, my Photoshop brushes, my custom fonts, all my MP3s...you name it, they fuxxored it.

To add to the funtimes, they put stuff I did NOT want on my machine, such as Norton, Trend Micro, various promotional crappy things, Quicken demo, iTunes, etc., etc., etc. It took me almost as long to remove the crap as it did to ATTEMPT to replace the stuff I wanted. Only about half of it was backed up, and the backup was done minutes prior to whatever stupidity the GS did to remove my programs WITHOUT PERMISSION.

That's the short and less-shouty version. Anyway, I have just found another program they buggered for me. I had a registered, paid-for copy of AVAST! Anti-Virus, and now my old program is borked and the new file I downloaded is only a demo. I am annoyed, and am hoping I don't have to buy the damn thing again.

The version I downloaded to replace the old one is Avast! 4.7. This is not the version I had before. It's shinier. It also has a Register Me nag function the old one lacked (as it was paid for).

Any hints are welcome. I prefer to buy my (non-Sims-2-custom-content) stuff, but I get narked off when I have to buy it TWICE. At that point, I draw the line.

DISCLAIMER: Not all GSers suck. The guy who made a house call in January was amazing and knowledgeable, and I can think of at least one other GSer who has gone out of his way to try to help me, thanks to his auntie.
