The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Nouk's emo hair stolen?
|

Shouldn't the word 'plagiarized' be used instead of 'stolen?' When Black Pearl was accused of stealing, I wasn't quite sure how she could actually steal a digital creation without hacking into someone's computer and taking a file without the permission of the creator (and that's a whole different can of worms).
And in this particular case, said plagiarism was quickly fixed; she failed to give credit to the originator of said mesh and corrected that situation when asked to. It seems to me that if a mistake was made and corrected when it was pointed out, there's really no need to keep harping on about it; it makes the 'accuser' sound petty and childish.
That's a good thing about publishing oneself on the Internet: mistakes can be immediately corrected at the source instead of having a wait for a retraction to be printed out and distributed.

I'll give him this much: he's at least making an effort to sound reasonable and civil in that thread towards me. I sincerely doubt we'll ever come to an agreement, but it's rather refreshing to not have it descend into petty name-calling and personal insults.
I wonder how long it's going to be before that thread is locked/split for being off topic.

I sincerely doubt SFV or the Fish's site would want to help in the first place. They blatantly violate other people's intellectual property so it doesn't surprise me the are going after free stuff now too. I've been thinking that for a while now but I never dared to say so. *shrug* Yeah, that doesn't really sound like you were referring to one specific person, darkangel. Sorry. He may have made the accusation, but you agreed with him about it. That makes it look like you have a pretty poor opinion of people on Sims File Vault and those that frequent 'the Fish's site.' At the very least, you weren't exactly clear on what you meant (that you were talking about one person on one of those sites).

The most frequently off-topic topic posted has to be about popcorn, I think. Perhaps someone should post a topic about popcorn and it'll eventually make it's way back to talking about paysites.

My French is pretty much limited to "merci", "souffle" and "merde" 'Thanks...dinner...shit.' Well, if you ever ate at my house, you've pretty much got the whole conversation covered.

From what I've heard, online petitions are as useless as a cake made of poo. I think Maddox kind of proved that when he signed the petition someone started to get himself thrown off the Internet.

I'm wondering why Alcoholics Anonymous would even care about something like this.
Seriously, though, could someone kindly spell out what AA means in this context? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Couldn't there be an amicable compromise? As in: you speak with these free site creators and request that you be permitted to make said meshes available in the event that their sites become unavailable for whatever reason (with full credit given and links to the site provided)?

Can you change genetics on the fly in SimPe, or do you have to do Sim Surgery? That's the only thing I haven't really figured out, and before I sorted out some of my yuckier skintones, it was the only way to save born in game sims that ended up with stupid skintones. Yes you can. In fact, I wrote up a tutorial about how to do so (with version 0.58) on how to change both the appearance and genetics of NPCs using SimPE. You can find that here. Take a look to see if it's what you're wanting. If, however, you want to change just one aspect of a Sim to something else (instead of making their genetics the exact same as another Sim's), that I can't help you with. You'd have to do some more research on that. :(

/looks up from reading N99/
Delphy is a convicted pedophile? WTF??? Why hasn't he been drummed out of the community? Because pedophilia is only a black mark against you if you don't run one of the most popular and free Sims 2 sites in existence, apparently.

Oh - forgot my terms of use:
You may only use them on sims that have my approval - you may have downloaded them, but I have control of them in private dwellings as well.
Don't look at them out of the corner of your eye, don't look at them in bodyshop, and don't use them on the following sims:
fat, thin - ONLY ripped ones. teen, child, toddler, young adult, elder - ONLY males or females, adults, aged 1-5 sim days. All sims wearing them must have the biggest lips ingame.
Don't even THINK about taking screenshots - even if they are stored on your computer only - I will know!
 Calalily...you're killing me here! Oh wait...does your file have a built-in self-destruct mechanism that will automatically activate in two weeks, forcing the user to repurchase?
