16  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / What would you do if EA oficially supports paysites? on: 2007 May 28, 03:45:42
I'd do something different, namely;

...I would roll my eyes and figure EA Games was basically taking the easy way out and completely avoiding the issue of having to sue some dumb shmuck selling downloads out of her den, who could give a few interviews and make herself look like the poor wittle helpless underdog being crushed in the jaws of the big evil EA tiger, when she uz on'y tryin' ta feed hur poor chilluns...*sniff*

Then I'd basically ignore it and keep downloading the booty.

Corporations set great store by public opinion and public opinion is not informed by truth. It's informed by Geraldo Rivera.
17  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / The real cost...results might suprise you on: 2007 May 25, 07:37:23
Does anybody know how many items (objects, clothes, hair, eyes, skin tones, walls, floors, etc.) there are in, say, the base game?

'Cause I think it'd be an interesting comparison (this is the kind of thing I think of while brushing my teeth) to calculate how much it would cost to buy The Sims 2 if EA Games priced it by pay site methods.

If I knew the number of items in the base game, or even how the hell I would search that to find out in less than an hour (hello, my name is Count Four and I am google impaired), I'd do the math. But it's already 3:30 a.m. The Carla Niven saga has kept me up way past my bedtime.
