Wow, those are awesome. Must have them. Thanks for the link neriana.  Grin

I like your carpets too, Neriana.

Although, whenever someone talks about how fast it is to make floors/walls, I remember the floor I worked on for over eight hours.  Of course, once I was finished, I realized my mistakes and the next time I made a similar floor, it took me only a couple hours.  But yeah, walls and floors are usually pretty easy to make.  And sometimes the plainest walls look the best.

I just wish Maxis had put more trim on their walls.  They did a lot of painted walls with no kick or crown trim and that irritates me, because I've never been in a place that didn't at least have kick trim. And even in my crappy  ancient apartment we have kick and crown.

I know, I should just shut up and add it myself.  But then it shows up as custom and sometimes it's irritating wadding through nine million custom wallpapers.

I always thought that if EAxis were smart, they would have done the trim as separate pieces that snapped to fit over walls.  That way, instead of having to come out with so many of the same color wall, but with different trim combinations, they could just say, "Here it is.  Flowered wallpaper.  You want white beadboard wainscotting?  You add it yourself."

I wish I had a nickel for everytime I have thought the exact same thing. I have a gazillion wallpapers that I never use because they don't have any trim. Most of them will only work in ultra modern buildings. I usually build fairly traditional looking houses and they require kick and crown molding.
I DLed Homecrafter, thinking I could just change them myself, but I can't get the damn thing to even start up. So much for that idea.

There are separate trim pieces (3 dimensional) that came with one of the EP's, but I can't remember which one. They're not very useful though. They're too bulky for most rooms and don't match well with very many styles. I think they're fug.

It seems to me that it would have been much simpler to make different (2 dimensional) trims an option on all wall coverings.
But what do I know? I'm only a player.  Tongue

Actually, with the ability to be able to move stuff up and down the walls, and the way we can stick more than one object to a wall, if I had talent with meshing I'd do it.  Make the molding to be just like paintings.  Put them on the wall, raise and lower to your perfect position!

That is a fantastic idea. Someone, please do that!

I agree. Why is it so hard to find any male hair that looks even close to any real hairstyles that men actually wear? The only ones I have found are Nouk's and maybe 2 or 3 others at MTS2. Everywhere else I look, I find nothing but outrageously feminine, anime style hair for men. *gag*

Side note: is it just me, or do Rose's blonde hair colors look green and/or brassy. Not natural blondes at all. Does she even know what real blonde hair looks like? Some of the brown shades look really green also.   Piss yellow does not equal blonde.

edited to add: I think Peggy suffers from the same type of colorblindness.

I kind of liked this bedroom set. the colors were nice and it seemed to be reasonably made.  I could live with the fact that the pillows swallowed the Sims heads.

But then it developed a tumor:

I'm just glad I didn't actually pay for the damn thing.  Tongue

What happened to the table next to the bed? The lamp appears to floating above a box of pillows.

And looky here:

It looks decent enough from the front (which is the only view you get at her site), but turn it around and WTF!
I remember a while back, Cala talking about the infamous "Peggy Gap". Now I see what she was talking about.
The poor guy looks like a victim of radiation poisoning. Oddly though, the female version of this hair doesn't have the gap.
I included Rissa's recolor to show that the gap still shows up, it's part of the mesh.
This is unacceptable for a "donation" mesh.  Peggy, for shame!

(edited to avoid posting twice in a row)

Sorry that my post is so late...

The fixed mesh is included at my site as well as you can see from the mesh and texture information!
Seems like you have the broken version somewhere in your folder. Just remove it and add the mesh by Thebes (which fixes another problem with the teen texture).
The hair is working fine in my game thanks to her for more than a year already.
Btw, Peggy fixed it herself some weeks after is was released first (it was in her announcements and even made it to the frontpage of her site), but aparently nobody bothered to upload the fixed mesh here.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know the mesh was old. I'll try the fixed one. Without the gap, I think it's one of the few of Peggy's that I like.
I hope evryone understands that I used your recolor to make a point about the mesh. I really like your recolors, and was not ripping on them at all.

I was truly shocked at how heartbroken I was to lose a baby I didn't even know about 2 months previously.
I'm not really sure I see the logic behind this. Or why you would be surprised. Do you somehow have a problem with not knowing yourself? It seems to me that you are clearly mental, and if I were your husband, upon discovering this I would quietly go and have myself neutered to preclude the possibility of this coming up again. It seems you are clearly a failure at the art of war.

I love being psycho-analyzed by someone who, clearly, was raised by squidbillies. Shocked

I never wanted kids my whole life. Now at age 38, I have one beautiful little girl. She was planned from the beginning.
About 2 years ago, I found out I was pregnant when I thought I was having a misscarriage. Turns out I didn't misscary, until 2 months later.
I was truly shocked at how heartbroken I was to lose a baby I didn't even know about 2 months previously.
At that point, my husband and I decided that we did want a child after all. Six months later I was pregnant again. That time I did everything I could to ensure no misscarriage. I think I was extremely lucky, as I was considered high risk. Despite being high risk, the birth itself was text book.
My whole family is amazed that I have a kid. They never thought it would happen. I was always very vocal about how I didn't want kids. I had a million reasons.
But now I have my little girl. I don't want any more though (had my tubes tied ASAP after giving birth). I want to be able to focus my attention and energy on just one. I have a dissabling anxiety dissorder, so one kid is all I can handle.

I do remember being berated and accused of hating children all the time because I didn't want children of my own. I never hated children, I just felt that I would not make a very good parent. I was too selfish, too childish, and too young to have kids.  At that time I would have made a terrible parent. Now though, I am more mature and stable.
Many of my friends that are my same age, have also waited til now to start having kids. It's kinda cool, cause all our kids are about the same age (only months apart), so they will be able to grow up together.

I just wanted to mention that I am a member of a sims group on myspace. Most of the members seem to be your average everyday players. Just the type of poeple who would end up at TSR not knowing any better. Lately I have seen quite a bit of enlightenment, on their part, on their forum. They have been talking about pay vs. free a lot lately and they seem to be coming to their own conclusions that TSR and EAxis are both not to be trusted. It is small but hopeful step in the right direction.

A possible next best seller?

Sorry for the shitty copy/paste job, I just couldn't resist and don't have my propper tools at the moment.
This just keeps reminding me of OJ trying to say he didn't do it, but if he had done it, this is how he would have done it. T$R seems to be opperating on that same mentality.

I showed Delphy's post about what happened to my husband (who does not play Sims at all) and he agreed that what they did was low. I still say it is TSR and they are blowing smoke to obscure the facts.

I told my husband about this too. He also does not play sims and thinks it's all frivolous waste of time (whatever). He agreed that this is not only low but unethical and quite illegal. Not just morally wrong, but an actual crime, punishable by fines and, yes, jail time.
Is there a way someone can actually press charges and sue TSR for identity theft, hacking and whatever else they have done?
This isn't just about some video game anymore. There are serious crimes being committed now.

I was gone for a day and came back to find all this has happened. I am literally sick in my stomache over this.
I have Buggy's planter pots collection. I love them. So this whole thing about the meshes being being stolen is absolutely repulsive to me.

fake edit: I believe the thread was split while I was typing this, so it sent my first attempt to post somewhere wierd. I don't really understand what happened. Just wanted to explain in case this post shows up twice or something.

I'm sure her kids will be absolutely thrilled to be known as "those naked kids" when they grow up. I don't like it when artists or writers profit directly off their children like that; it's worse that they're naked, because that will make it even more embarrassing for them as they're older, but it would be almost as bad if they were posed as cutesy flowers or something.

Her kids are grown now. I saw them on a PBS documentary. They love the photos and consider them a great gift from their mother. They seemed pretty well adjusted. All three were going to college and doing well.

I met Sally Mann when her show came to my school campus. She's one of those 'old school' hippie artists.
Also she does a lot more than just photos of her kids. That was just one series of photos that she released after she had already established herself as talented photographer.

Even still, I have to agree that the initial post that started this conversation does seem a bit creepy to me. For some reason, I don't associate 'Hello Kitty' with pure wholesomeness. I've seen some pretty racy stuff produced by that franchise. And the sim kids in that pic do seem to be posed in a weird way. I never even see my sims' kids in their undies, so I don't see the need for this item. I guess that's why it creeps me out. The thought that some perv out there might be acting out some pervy fantasy with little sim kids. ew!

I would expect different cultures to view this in different ways.

This reminds me of Sally Mann, the Apalachian photographer. She caused a lot of controversy back in the early 90's with her show "Immediate Family". It was a series of beautiful black and white photos of her three young children. The children appear nude in many of the photos, which caused the controversy, especially here in TN. People were trying to make them out to be pornographic. I think anyone who thinks they are pornographic has some serious issues. It's only porn if it turns you on. Mann's photos are capturing natural everyday moments in her childrens lives. They are so beautiful and her kids are natural born models.
I think small children should have the freedom to be nude without being seen as a sexual object. Unfortunately, there are a lot of pervs out there who ruin this concept.
I was raised in a similar setting, and we kids ran around naked all the time in the summer. It was more practical for our parents. When we got dirty from playing in the creek or the barn or something like that, our parents would just hose us off in the front yard. No one ever molested us or made us uncomfortable about it. It was just natural.
See her photos here: http://www.sallymann.org/
