All of the ones except Tristan.

Anyone have them?

I asked the chick who said she had Jacob, the other-guy-in-the-band-who-isn't-James, and some other stuff Aikea Guinea hadn't released to tell me when she got the stuff together, but I haven't heard from her in about a month.

I have her animation paintings. Very extensive list of actions, very useful if anyone wants them.

But I don't have any of the sims, and I believe beauty_scars was only given Jacob, Tristan, and Andy. aikea_guinea didn't give her any of the other sims, that I know of.

No need for killing. That would make a mess that I wouldn't feel like cleaning up. :p

I have them on sendspace for now.

Here (http://www.sendspace.com/file/msmvzf)

edit;

Oh, they're paintings that have most of the available sim actions that you can use to control them to a greater extent. They even have some hidden actions, such as 'female bow' and 'male bow' - very interesting actions, really. Haha.

They can be found under Misc>Misc in-game.

Animation paintings are extremely easy for anyone who knows how to make - takes me about 30 seconds to add an animation to a painting.  I had ambition to make one that had everything on it at once.  Got about as far as the first 700 before totally giving up as it was too tedious.

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=142907 - That tutorial tells exactly how to make an animation painting.  Not too hard as long as you've got some brain cells and have at least cloned an object before.

I prefer using a social plugin rather than a painting, that way people who are going to use it for movie making don't have to scroll back to the painting everytime they want to select a new animation. That's the method I used for the Bad Habits hack.

I tried it earlier and yeah, a lot of the animations on one of the paintings will require EPs - there's stuff like vampire animations, photobooth poses, and OfB stuff.  I'm pretty sure those parts just won't work and people with just base game could use the rest of it though.

Title: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: anoramic on 2007 January 30, 16:47:49
Yes, what HystericalParoxysm said. I have all EPs, so I don't know how well it will work with those using only the base game. No harm in trying, right? ;)

I tried making an animation painting, but I gave up after 350 animations or so because I received aikea_guinea's and it was so much easier to just use those.

Whichever animations are ep-specific just won't show up or they may show up and just do nothing, it depends on how she coded it.

I have the hair mesh from her sim Tristan( I've wanted that hair for a while now) but the alpha or mesh is different than the one in the pics on tsr.
It's missing the side pieces.
I've tried to edit the damn thing but can't.
Oh well.
I was just looking through her screenshots.

anoramic, I could kiss you right now, or else throw mashed potatoes at you.  Whatever your preference is. lol!  I have asked for the paintings at her LiveJournal, but I don't know if she reads the older ones.

Life is just so darn busy right now that I barely have time to play the game much less create anything for it, so I am very thankful for these.  They will make storytelling so much easier.

I would like to have some of her Sims.  Especially Tristan. He just reminds me of someone.

Mainly that she has a big story about them, Deception Pass, and she won't share them - partly because she apparently doesn't want others to have them, and partly because a lot of their content is edited from other stuff - like blends of Enayla skins, etc., I think.  I dunno, I don't think they're all that interesting, but a lot of folks seem to obsess over them.

What, asking for Guinea's sims makes you less scary in their eyes? Hmmm...maybe I should hunt for them as well, then. I know a couple of people who could benefit from a gift that reduces the scary.

*after MTS2-google* Hm, Tristan's allright. I was afraid he was like one of them KSK's freaks, but that's cute kind of ugly on him. Nuff special to have in own game, though. 8)

I did a hair retexture for Tristan, but I never got a picture of it. And I thought his eyes were pretty small too, which is why I edited them. XD

http://pics.livejournal.com/anoramic/pic/0004121c

His newest hair is a completely new mesh, and nobody except aikea_guinea has it. And it's not even black, it's really dark purple I've been told - it just seems black in pictures.

Glass Akira is not aikea_guinea's original sim creation. He's a sim from MTS2 and she changed the custom content. All you need to do to get Glass Akira's face is recolor Tristan's eyes, use that Peggysims2 hair, and change his skintone to SimsCribbling's Light.

The sim Glass Akira is based on (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=44281)

And no, her sims have never been uploaded by her, as far as I know. She passed them on to a friend, they got in a fight, and then said friend uploaded Tristan for all to download. Said friend also only has Andy and Jacob, aside from Tristan.

I'm fresh out of drama. I'm sick of drama, honestly. I like sitting here doing nothing more than I like reading drama. It gets old.

Anyways, no problem. For those interested, Jade Akira(Glass Akira's sister in Deception Pass) is also not aikea_guinea's original sim creation, but I'm not sure what sim she is. I know she's a Final Fantasy sim probably on MTS2.

I'm thinking maybe the side pieces are accessories.
Everything else about the mesh looks the same.
The girl who uploaded Tristan swore up and down that it was the same hair as the pics on TSR.
She said that the hair was purple but only looked black in pics and that the side pieces were make-up
But I can definitely see that the hairs are a different color(the one on tsr is black and the one she uploaded has purple hair) and the side pieces are not makeup because they stick out from the face.

Like she said, the hair for Tristan now is a completely different mesh. The one that's floating around is an old version, before Aikea and Simsbeauty99 got in their drama-fight. She hasn't released this new hair to anyone, and I believe commented that she wasn't going to, because of the drama.
Just my .02.

Post by: PirateChic dahling on 2007 February 01, 06:00:20
I've got the mesh, it was included in the download I downloaded...when all this happened I guess.
The sidebits are part of the hair but the whispy fringey bits that you can see between the curtains-like-part in his fringe and around the bottom of his cheeks is makeup. Just kinda blends the hair mesh into his head.
Also, yeah, the hair's sorta purpley and there aren't 400billion recolours since I figure it's just made for him :P

I downloaded him, opened him in bodyshop, laughed evilly and actually put him in my game. *frowns*

I'd still like James and Jacob though, even if they'd probably suffer a similar fate in my game :P[/i]

I don't even care what hair it is anymore, as long as I have him in my game all is well.

I remember Tristan's annoying and pathetically messy old hair. That was the hair that my friend got screamed at by all of her lackies for using on her musician. She didn't even know what DP was. She didn't even ask them to stop, and since then, I think, was when she took the original hair down and said she was 'unstable' about the whole thing.

Not that I'd liked her to begin with, but with her first and final personal impression? Well, I have never liked her since, either.

Lmao, I agree with the commentary on Aikea's sims, they are mostly generally unattractive. I do like James and Jacob, though, I will admit.

I can understand why people like them, however, because they actually all have distinguishable faces. You can recognize that Tristan is Tristan from a mile away, whereas if most people switch even the hair on their sims they become completely generic.

Eh, shrug, I like it when the men look like men and the women don't all look like exotic supermodels or Cali princesses.

See, I like that sim! If I didn't hate putting sims made by other folk into my game, I would give him some babies and a cult to run. I admire anything that comes out of Bodyshop with some character to it.

Randomly, it just dawned on me. Her Jacob sim looks an awful lot like Pete Wentz from that one band, umm, Fall Out Boy, doesn't he? I saw someone mention that Glass/Jade weren't original creations and I thought about why everytime I look at her Jacob sim, why it seemed so familiar to me.

Then it dawned on me that it was probably because I'd seen Wentz's mugshot so commonly on ONTD@LJ.

Except that he doesn't look like Patrick Wolf at all, which is why I laugh so hard. I love PW's music and before I was really into him, I looked him up on google and was shocked by how much he looked like one of  my characters who is named Tucker Rosenkreuz. I mean, it was a fluke of luck, and an amusing one (since PW is not very attractive, but he IS very British and so is my character...), but it seems odd to me.

His name is from PW songs obviously (The Towans, Jacob's Ladder) like half of her charcters (MY NAME IS TRISTAN AND I AM ALIVE and all that crap), but his apparence is almost, well, ridiculously similar to Wentz's. I asked my bestfriend and she agreed too. Maybe it was a fluke, who knows, but even the Wikipedia entry's picture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Wentz) looks similar. They even have similar hair.

I still can't get over Tristan's name after officially hearing the song he is named after. It is so dramatic and everything I think of her, the aforementioned "My name is Tristan and I AM ALIVE" thing pops into my head. In about the most hilarious way possible. He is a vampire, they are not very much alive. Maybe more than zombies, but still very much technically "dead," even if barely.

Umm, yeah, anyway!

Title: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: bollocks on 2007 February 03, 14:40:17
One thing to consider is that the Tristan we're getting isn't coming directly from Aikea herself, but from SimsBeauty99 or whatever the fuck her handle is. She's the one that posted him, so she might have changed him to say, "Ha! Your sims = ugly!"
Not knowing the details of the situation, I can't say whether or not this is probable.

Title: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: SunsetCiti on 2007 February 03, 15:54:50
I highly doubt Aikea listens to Fall Out Boy (Imagine Cruxshadows and Fall Out Boy back to back XD) ... and since she usually tends to base her characters on her favorite artists I don't think she would make a pete wench sim. Plus, I don't really see the correlation between Wentz and Jacob anyway. Perhaps in the lip structure, but Wentz is a fat lard (with horrible song writing abilities) while Jacob has sort of skinnier features.

For the record, I like her sims, but they look odd in my game too. She probably changed him around since giving him to 99beautyscars.

She may have, but I think Tristan looks pretty much the same to me.  I don't have any game captures yet, but when you catch him alive rather that in a basic pose, he looks better.  You know how pictures work in real life ;)  Or at least *I* look better (that's not much better mind you :P) when I'm in action rather than posing.  And you know how people advertise their sims for download with other awesome pictures and then you get her or him in game and go, "why on earth did I download this sim?? It's hideous! KILL IT! KILL IT!!" and so on.  I've got Jade and Glass sims now... at least as close as my CC would get them.  I kinda took a guess at Jade's CC.  But at least they're recognizable

I think I'll try him out, too. Will give him max playfulness, max nicety, Shrink's glasses, musketeer beard and have him play pirate in a bathtub so that he could recover from his woe-is-me angsty past, poor thing.

SFV = SimsFileVault. But the sims are apparently in a "you have to have 100 posts" area or something.

The only place that mesh is located is in aikea_guinea's download folder. She never released it to anyone.

Oh, they're paintings that have most of the available sim actions that you can use to control them to a greater extent. They even have some hidden actions, such as 'female bow' and 'male bow' - very interesting actions, really. Haha.

Oh, darn, I already had these!

I thought you were talking about paintings like in Sims1 Makin' Magic, which moved around and so on. Very Harry Potter-esque, but great for haunted houses.

Can those be done for Sims2? HAVE they been done?

Tristan fixing tips: Change the eye colour... and widen them a bit... also longer hairstyles look better on him. He has a bizarre jaw line  On the plus side, he makes gorgeous sim kids in my game    and he also looks nice as an elf  :?

*sneaks in*

I haven't changed his eye colour, but did make his eyes slightly bigger. At the moment he's still got the purple hair as well, although I will try a different style on him at some point. In my game he has a thing for my self-sim - bless him - and he's working his way through the education career track. No sign of any angst. Yet ....

Forgot something: I have absolutely no clue about meshing, re-texturing, etc but I was puzzling over whether or not the updated hair that Aikea Guinea uses on him is a tweaked version of her Robert Smith hair? I can see a few similarities in the overall shape (which could be wishful thinking), so maybe she tweaked the alpha/s a bit and retextured  :?:

He's a sweetie in my game too.... he's been alien abducted a few too many times   and I've just moved in an Emily and they just had the cutest little girl and are engaged (he's a family sim in my game) He's in the medicine career.

I can't remember much about the elf version except he's married to a tweaked version of my self sim

I think I had him loaded into my game at one point, but when I opened him up to take a look my first words were "Ugh!", and not in a way that I wanted to fix either. I'm fairly certain I chucked him lest the ugliness spread to other sims. I'll have to take a look again, if it is as you all say, and I can make him look less like some kind of goblin.

You can find Tristan there.

The African drum and guitar are by padre333 from TSR but can be found here (http://paysites.mustbedestroyed.org/booty/tsr/padre/). It is in the African safari set.

ETA: The violin he is photoshopped holding is by drpixel and is free over at tsr here (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/meshes/157393/).

Thank you!  Jacob will have to have some editing, but Tristan's hair is ALL MINE now!  :D

You know, Aikea is weird about who she lets borrow her Sims.  Not the masses, mind you, but close, personal friends, I guess, have been "lent" some of her Sims.  Case in point, someone on the Simchantment Livejournal Community had Markus for a photoshoot.  Not that I really care for Markus, in any way, but doesn't that go against her own policy?

Quote
inyri_jax:
thank you to aikea_guinea for sending Markus for a visit.

But that's not all.  Apparently she has Serge, Tristan, Jacob, and what I'm assuming is James.

But the image won't show up here...?

Since Jacob is not a real Jacob, he needs some editing :) Especially eyes  ..
Aikea is not only weird about who she lets borrow her sims, she is weird about all "I can't share my sims with you , since they are people in my head bla bla" thing, she acts like a 4 year old who doesn't like to share her toys with anyone else. And how old is she 32 or something? I know she shared some of her sims with her close friends like Gelydh.. Maybe we should try to make best buddies with her and she will give us her sims too   I tried to make Chris everything went well but I failed miserably in eye part   And in the link you sent I couldn't see Tristan, Jacob nor James, It looks like inyri_jax has only has Markus and Serge..

xD I've thought of getting all buddy-buddy with her friends, but I think they would get suspicious if I asked them for her Sims.

The last picture of the "photoshoot" was the one with Markus, Tristan, James(?), Serge, and Jacob.  The link to that is above.

I really do wish she wasn't so secretive about her Sims though, like you said.  "THEY'RE MINE, you can't have them!"  I'm not sure exactly how old she is, but I know she's not a teenager, and has gone through college.  Other than that, I have no idea.

Normally I lurk for more than a couple of days before posting, and I generally make sure that I have a few posts under my belt before saying something like this, but... I stumbled across PMBD a few days ago, and while I totally agree with the mission statement, and with nearly all of what I've read here in the forum, this particular thread makes my stomach churn.

It started out fairly innocently, I suppose, but it seems to have evolved into something that I'm apparently not able to quietly accept. Let me start off by saying that I read Deception Pass, and I completely understand the desire to get your hands on Aikea Guinea's sims. I'd personally love to have a little James clone running around my neighbourhoods, but it would never, ever cross my mind to demand that she make him available to download. Ask her, sure; only it seems she's already been asked and has answered 'no', so what would be the point?

Admittedly, I'm new here, but it seems that this issue is far removed from what we're supposed to be trying to do. It's one thing to ensure that available content is available for everyone; it's quite another to get up in arms because content you want isn't available at all. That's like getting upset because your neighbour down the street, whom you barely know, won't let you borrow their swanky new graphics card for a few hours, or let you read their copy of a book you want to read. They're under no obligation to share those things with anyone, and neither is Aikea. Unfortunately for her, she has allowed a few friends (or former friends) to use a few of these sims with the result that some of them have been released to the masses. Since EA has made it pretty clear that only they own any Sims-related custom content, all she can do is ask us not to use them and hope that we'll comply; it's one of the drawbacks of sharing digital information.

I personally think the fact that those files are being linked to here is bad enough - it has nothing to do with PMBD's mandate as I understand it, and things like that can be a real blemish on a community, especially one that's a little bit controversial to begin with. However, I freely admit that the reputation of this site is none of my concern. What really sticks in my craw is the hypocrisy of the last couple of posts. Making suggestions (even tongue-in-cheek ones) about trying to get buddy-buddy with Aikea or her friends in an effort to weasel something out of her, and then going on to make comments about how immature you feel she's acting - I'm sorry, but how old are you? Because that's the sort of behaviour I expect to see in, well, twelve-year-olds.

----

I apologize if this post has broken any forum rules that I'm not aware of (I looked, but couldn't find any), and I'm kind of sorry that my first impression here is that of a loudmouth bitch, but I'm not going to apologize for speaking my mind.

Oh dear.  I think I've already managed to make someone angry, and I haven't been here for that long.  I'm a GIANT fan of Aikea_guinea's work, but that doesn't keep me from downloading her stuff from the Booty.  And honestly, if I came across as demanding, I didn't mean it.  I was just wondering if they were available, bootlegged or not.

I really was joking about getting buddy-buddy and asking, I wouldn't ever attempt something like that in my life.  It's not like I'm out there demanding that she share them, either, I'm just asking for the ones she's already shared with other people.  Once again, sorry if I've made you angry.

Title: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: Feverish on 2007 July 30, 02:17:42
Honestly, it's a bunch of pixels, and it ain't that important. The graphics card/book comparison is not the same. If my neighbor wanted to borrow my graphics card, I'd tell him hell no because I'd have to be without it, and if he screws it up, then I'd be screwed. If I had an unlimited supply of the graphics cards, I'd freely give them out to my neighbor and whoever else wanted it.  She still has her precious sims so who cares who else has them.

Title: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: falln_angel on 2007 July 30, 03:16:45
Kiriu - The comment that actually set me off was "she acts like a 4 year old who doesn't like to share her toys with anyone else", which you didn't say, so technically you didn't make me angry. (I'd say I wasn't angry at all, but I'm not a very good liar.) I've also helped myself to her items in the booty, but only because it's stuff she's decided to share with the community (as opposed to a select few personal friends). As for the other stuff, if she wants to say "THEY'RE MINE, you can't have them!", she's perfectly entitled to that.

Feverish - Okay, yes, the graphics card analogy is a little extreme. (I was originally going to say that it's like getting upset because a digital artist you like won't take a commission from you, even though they have from other people, but I didn't want to get into the whole copyright thing because that's really beside the point.) But while it's over-the-top, I think it's still relevant. If you were going to be out of town for a week, nowhere near your computer, random-neighbour-from-down-the-street would still be completely unjustified in being mad at you for not letting him borrow your stuff.

keirra - You may not think sharing her sims is all that big of a deal, but she clearly does. Writing is a deeply personal thing, and writers have a tendency to get attached to tools that they use for creating. Is it completely neurotic? Probably. That doesn't change the fact that those particular clusters of pixels mean a lot more to her than they do to most people, and because of that I think it's disrespectful to continue to share the files she didn't want out there in the first place. (Copies created by other people are a different matter, more along the lines of fan art.)

I'm sure I'm being irrationally over-sensitive about this whole thing, but what can you do?

I see your point, though I do think you are being a little sensitive.  If you lurk some more on the board you will see that we are a bunch of smart asses.  It goes with the forum.  We freely say things here and you might get tossed overboard a few times, but we are a forgiving lot of rum drinkers as well.  No harm ... no foul.  You really can't take apart everything everyone says or you are going to be very busy typing.  Lighten up a bit.  Everyone here in entitled to express their point of view and you have the right to disagree and even be an asshole if you want.  Seriously though, I understand why you might have been offended and it is ok for you to post that and direct it at whomever.  Just understand that there is always a lot of sarcasm involved in most threads.

What armywife said.

Also, falln_angel, I like you.  :D  I respect your opinion and how you have stated it.  Your arguments are also very good and I completely understand where you are coming from.

I don't want her sims, but, I do download her stuff from the booty.  I am sure she would prefer that I bought them myself, more money for her. She doesn't care about EA's wishes.  That's why I don't think it's a big deal that people share her sims.

ETA:  Her mistake was sharing them in the first place.  If you don't want your sims out in cyberland, don't give them to anyone.

I get what your saying, but I do still think that at least some of the sentiment I was reacting to was definitely not sarcastic. I do have a tendency to go overboard a little bit when something pushes a button (fortunately I don't have many of them... at least, not ones that can be triggered accidentally), but I've had some food between my first and second post, and I'm definitely not as riled up about is as I was. I haven't changed my views on it, I'm just not fuming, you know? Anyway, I've said my bit and I'm not going to keep going on about it.

And I really don't make a habit of the combined-individual-response posts. Believe it or not, I do tend to ramble on some and in that case I decided it was actually more efficient to address the responses individually rather than try to summarize.

Thanks for not making me walk the plank. (http://www.vanmega.com/photos/emoticons/pirate.gif)

I didn't think you were being sarcastic at all.  You were stating your opinion with reasons to back it up.  Very nicely, I thought.

Redlove used to be sarcastic...and pretty funny doing it, but she is all nice now and confusing the crap out of me.  I'm in her head, though, so I will figure it out eventually.

ETA: Nevermind, I misread your post.  I can be stoopid sometimes.

I still wouldn't consider it the same thing. People only share copies of her sims. She still has them in her game. She doesn't really part with them. If someone were to put her sims in their game and make them fat, her sims in her game wouldn't be. If my neighbor broke something of mine, I'd have to pay for it to be replaced or fixed. And like it's been mentioned before, when you share your sims it's out of your hands. You can't really control what people do with them or who they give them to.

I'd personally love to have a little James clone running around my neighbourhoods, but it would never, ever cross my mind to demand that she make him available to download.

At what point did anyone demand anything of AG - at no point.  Do you see her email address? No. Do you see posters enjoining others to spam AG with requests for the sims? No.

Chat about what you would like doesn't equate demand unless there is someone to demand something from.  This *isn't* AG's forum - I doubt she comes here at all - so how exactly is this a demand?

What armywife and Feverish said..

Falln_angel, I'm sorry that my loudmouth of bitchy words have offended you... I guess I should've written  /sarcasm/ after my "we should try to make best buddies with her" sentence, I have never seriously thought about it, it was just a sarcastic sentence like 60% of the other stuff I wrote.. I adore her work, but I really DO think her attitude about sharing her sims is strange, I totally understand she is attached to her sims, doesn't want to share them with anyone else... But I think she could act more mature about this, answering to a "Can I marry Tristan ?" question "Fuck No!"  is not mature in my opinion but it is just my opinion. Maybe there are some hidden sarcasm in her words..  :? And again in my opinion that is one of the biggest reason, made people want her sims more. I know we can't judge people about their personalities.  And I didn't mean to judge her, just expressed my thoughts here like everyone does... You can think they are total bullshit or not, it is not my problem anyway..

Like keirra wrote if she really doesn't want her sims to be shared, she shouldn't have shared them with anyone else, when you share you can't control your stuff.

And I totally agree with Calalily. None of us didn't demand her to share her sims with us or tried to be best buddies with her then get her sims and spread them to world..

DP sims which I gave their links they aren't her sims they are just fan art like you said . (I'm not sure about Tristan though)
And I don't agree with you about "I get her stuff from booty, because she shared them with public" , like Keirra said, she shared most of her stuff with TSR subscribers, and like other paysite creators she doesn't like her stuff is shared here in PMBD. And you are just a content stealer for her. (Please don't get me wrong, I'm not calling you a stealer, to me we are all fellow pirates who want Sims CC to be shared without paying. ARRR! )

I hope I'm clear about all this stuff, like you and everyone else here, I don't want to keep going on about it either..

PS: I'm twenty by the way...

I really like them, not just because they're part of the story, but because they're really very pretty (to me, at least).  Also, they are very distinctive, you can tell them apart from the others.  I would also like to see what their offspring would look like, if they might come out as pretty as the original, or if all the Custom Content is what makes them look that good.

Might be at least partially true -- after all, I downloaded that Tristan thing just because of hype (although no hype in the world would persuade me to have any of Schuldig's androgynous zombies,  so it's not ALL about the hype...). Then I discovered that the make-up of devoted boozer fits him perfectly, and then that his skin disappears when in water so I had much fun woohooing him in bathtub, and eventually I got kind of attached to that poor ugly bastard. (Not enough to get any other of AK's sims, though - one of a distinctive creator's works is enough for breeding purposes)

Title: I know this may be considered necromancy... but...
Post by: de Pommes on 2007 September 26, 23:38:03
This is necromancy, and I apologize in advance. However, I have a few complaints about Aikea, as she annoys the ever living hell out of me. I had a bit of drama with her, something like two years or so ago over at  livejournal.

Awhile back, she was a lot more generous with her male hairs. I had downloaded a style that wasn't too long or short (one of Tristan's, I think?), because it suited a male sim I wanted to make at the time. I think it was over at MtS2.

Anyways, I had actually never heard of her Deception Pass series, and so I had no idea that she owned all the rights to gothy musician sims. This was eventually corrected when I decided to share a few pics of this college band I created. They weren't gothy at all- more like emo? I created some sim named Corbin Elliott (named after a Mage; the Awakening character I used to RP back in high school), who was just a pissy little lead singer to a band that made the college I was making more fun.

The next day, I awaken to find something like fifteen fucking emails from her little fanclub, accusing me of “OMFG CLONING” Tristan Payne (I'm sorry, but that name is just so Harry Potter!sue-esque I want to vomit whenever I see it).

Just to clarify (since I deleted the sim, the entry and the pictures featuring him sometime after this shit), here's what these two sims had in common:

1)Male

2)Pale

3) The same hair mesh (different colors though; Tristan's is black, Corbin's dark brown)

4) Musicians

Corbin Elliott was made to be a pompous little prick that banged everything that moved, dressed in a way more Hot Topic “emo” style, and didn't play any instruments. He just sang in the band. Also, Corbin was a 21 year old human. Tristan Payne, from what I can remember, is supposed to be all nice and dark and a vampire. And doesn't he play the guitar, maybe even the bass guitar? And Corbin wasn't for a story, just part of this campus I had made. He wasn't a tortured soul, didn't wear all black (or purple), didn't have the same facial features at all. Corbin had a more pointy little nose & chin thing going on, like... femme. Tristan was/is very obviously a dude, despite his constant whining.

So, I was appalled at all the flaming going on. I ended up emailing Aikea, telling her to get her fanclub off my nuts, (in a politer way). Of course, it wasn't her fault her fanclub consists of hags with no life, so I don't yell at her. I just said that I downloaded her hair and that it was probably all that started it.

She wrote back, stating that she has no idea why her fanclub went off like a pack of rabid wolves on me, and how her heart breaks whenever she sees that mesh used on some other sims. Which was like, “Um, wtf  did you upload it on a fucking public forum then, moron?” But I was a more considerate soul then and told her I'd use a different hairstyle if I was going to post pictures of sims, I guess I was thinking  that she was probably crazy or something, being possessive of a hair mesh she willingly posted.

She never wrote back, which I thought was kind of rude. THANKS for accepting the apology and gratitude for doing something I really didn't have to do. (Removing the pictures, using a different hairstyle on the sim, etc.)

Then, a friend of mine who was LJ friends with her showed me the reason why all these psychos were emailing me. I had previously figured they just saw my post over at the main Sims2 community on LJ. I never really stopped to think how odd it was that every single person that was being a bitch about the ordeal was LJ friends with Aikea's personal blog.

Apparently Aikea had posted an LJ entry about “somebody” who was using her precious hair mesh on a sim that was OMFG SO SIMILAR to Tristan. She then linked to my entry. She mentioned how other people were doing it, but if I recall correctly, mine was the only one linked to.

Of course, I friended her on LJ using an account for my better Sims 2 stories and pictures, and she friended me back. I commented on an entry of hers, stating that my other account was the one that posted the supposed “Tristan clone,” and she unfriended me before I could weed through her boring ass blogs about Donnie Darko, how her currently simming was going and pictures of herself to find the incriminating evidence of her bitchiness.

The friend told me that she ended up deleting the entry. It didn't stop the flaming every time I posted different stories under that account. So, frustrated and being the immature angst machine I was back then, I decided to quit posting my Sims 2 stories for awhile, delete that account (& all other Sims 2 associated accounts just to be on the safe side), and gave up on the community.

I'm making a slight comeback now, but I still cannot stand that two-faced jerk. On top of her arrogant attitude, her stories just aren't that good. All the drama of V.C. Andrews, Anne Rice and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, none of the intrigue. Her stories are the sort of thing I'd have been into when I was a 14 year old little pseudo-goth, which I feel I have grown up from. She seems to think she invented not-so-subtle greek mythology links, vampire sims, vampire musicians and the angst that comes from mortals & vampires falling in love, when really... Anne Rice has been doing this since she was 7 years old or something.

Another thing: She claims that the tattoos she uses for her sims are meaningful and unique, except the only one I can remember is the one on Tristan's back (angel wings?), and I have friends with practically the same tattoo, and none of them have heard of her stupid little story.

All that aside? She makes absolutely stunning stuff. Though it disgusts me that she thinks people ought to pay to use her pixels, I have enjoyed downloading her stuff here, knowing that I didn't pay a goddamn cent for it.

Cheers!

That's so stupid...everyone knows that sims have a resemblance if you use the same hair.  Gah, every time I put Nouk's brown dread ponytail on a sim, I always think of HP's Pariah Corax.  I would kept the sim just to make her mad.

Well, she's known for that kind of behavior apparently among those close to her. There was a link to an LJ post on the community beautiful_sims awhile back made by the maintainer that outlined every flaw that AG has pretty much. If I remember correctly the OP talked about how she's manipulative and bitchy. I didn't comment on the entry because I was like "Okay, whatever". But yeah, this girl got into it with her also apparently over a singer.

What a pshycopath. Anyone that attached to their sims needs extensive therapy. She should be thrown in a padded room with Jan.
One time I uploaded a self sim to the Exchange when I used to go on there, and a couple days later, someone used my head and added a bunch of CC. Mine got three stars and was taken off and theirs is still on there, though I lost the link ages ago. It was really, really weird, but I was more amused than anything. If you don't want someone using your stuff, don't upload it.

Oh, it wasn't really all that painful, just infuriating and annoying. And certainly enlightening! Everyone practically ooohs and aaahs over Aikea, since her attitude makes her seem so very high above everyone else.

When really, she's just a twat. So it goes!

But yes, thanks. I wasn't sure where to post my little story, since there wasn't any "AIKEA SUX :(" threads, so I did a search on her name and this one came up. And when I saw it was old, I almost hesitated. But, meh.

This is something I'd totally do now. I was a moderately nice 17 year old when this happened (and now, a bitchy 20 year old), and wanted to get along with everyone in the Sims 2 LJ community. little did I know that some fans of this game are kind of cunty.

They should also seek mental help. I don't use anything by her. All her paintings said this might work and that might not work, and I never finished this or that because I made it just for me. Dispossessive wow, I knew she and her cronies can be a little possessive that is a bit on the extreme side. I have been snapped at by the LJ cult of Aikea a couple of times myself, and that was enough high maintenance experience for me. Seriously if she isn’t after the attention, or happy to see people enjoying and using her stuff, or willing to take a bit criticism now and again,  she shouldn’t bloody well put herself or her content out into the public realm.

Or if she was using a medium that wasn't a fracking computer game. Like, if it were a comic and I was running around with my own series with a character that looked or acted similar... but no.

Leaves me wanting to collect AG's Sims, dress them up in bright cheerful floral patterns, make them healthily plump and innocently blond, snap the shots of them farting at the table, catching butterflies or doing something equally mysterious and gothy, and make a LJ just to post the pictures. Deception Pass is the sort of soap opera that gets aired after midnight.

I have Tristan but don't find him attractive. I would have deleted him, but that would have made her happy and there's room on my external HD for him.

Oh, god, yes. Finally somebody agrees with me. I actually read through the first season of DP, because everyone were like, OMG, it's so fantastic, the best sims story evah!!! and I figured it had to get good at some point, but it didn't. And when I tried to start reading the second season, it was so mind-numbingly boring I just could not go on.

And the greek mythology thing? Everyone was commenting on it like it was something that was never done before, and brilliant, and I thought it was rather obvious and done badly to boot. Oo, the triple goddess, yawn. I wonder what she's talking about? Hecate and the furies, mayhaps?

I've read so much better sims stories on S2C. In fact, AG's stories would be better if she concentrated on writing the stories instead of having the sims act them out, since the sims actually cannot act and the pictures lack drama and movement.

Her CC is indeed pretty. And it is the reason why people want her sims. I tried recreating some of her sims and realised that all her men look exactly the same. In the end I got some sims to be really close to her originals, but then tweaked them more because I thought I could actually make them look better. In the end my Chris and Deanna are much better looking than hers while they still do not look like maxis sims.

Sorry, I just want to laugh when I see Aikea's sims. I'd love to see her sims all plumped up and happy with kids instead of moody, emo 20-30 year old.

EA created Vampires in the game for fun and now Aikea's using it for her stories to do something UNIQUE? -guffaw choke spleen scabula seizure-

I've read way better stories on the exchange like the Vampire Chronicles (a light, upbeat legacy) and the Prettacies. These are much better stories that use half the effort.

So basically, isn't Deception Pass an emo Friends?

Quote from: "Voide"

She's an avid fan of Neil Gaiman, and draws most of her inspiration from his stories, ie plopping in The Three in her story. I suppose she's trying to follow Gaiman's style since he is quite fond of using the Triple Goddess in most of his works, but it's not only that...There are other aspects that strongly reminds me of Gaiman's influence. Whenever I read her stories, I feel like I'm reading a cheap knock-off version of Gaiman's with a mix of Buffy. She can keep the cheesy Buffy, but I wish she'd stop borrowing ideas from Mr Gaiman.

Yeah, I thought it might have been something like that. The reason why she is not successful in her attempts is because she is just a hack ripping off Neil, whereas Neil is actually recreating something of his own using existing myths or creating his own from scratch (see Sandman and American Gods). That, and Neil can write.

Quote from: "Voide"
And to think her fans are suggesting and supporting the idea of a live-action series of Deception Pass...

Oh god, no.

Feel free to laugh at me if you want, but I too have sims that I wouldn't want to share. Slapping one together in BS in ten minutes is one thing, I'd happily share those. But I have a few based on characters in stories I've written, or characters I've roleplayed a lot, and the thought of someone downloading one of those, giving it a gappy Peggy-hair and a dress from Carla Nieven makes me cringe.

Yeah, it's slightly obsessive, but the characters in my stories are very real to me. Then again, I seldom show those chars to people either, so they don't know what they're missing out on. And if someone DID get their hands on them somehow, I wouldn't be a fucking bitch about it like she seems to be. So... meh. Dunno.

Neil Gaiman is the best, by the way.

Hmm...

I've tried reading Deception Pass and can't get into it. But I am not one for sim stories, so thats no surprise.

...And:

Quote
<Snip>She seems to think she invented not-so-subtle greek mythology links, vampire sims, vampire musicians and the angst that comes from mortals & vampires falling in love, when really... Anne Rice has been doing this since she was 7 years old or something <Snip>

Meh all writers get influenced by other writes, artists, etc. You can't blame her for being influenced by others..delibaretly lifting plots and characters is another thing, but I dont think she does that - do not get me started on JK Rowling >.< Now that is lifting to the max

Quote
<Snip>Another thing: She claims that the tattoos she uses for her sims are meaningful and unique, except the only one I can remember is the one on Tristan's back (angel wings?), and I have friends with practically the same tattoo, and none of them have heard of her stupid little story.<Snip>

Nah he has more then that one - from what I remember from her preview pics where she uses him as a model, he has a kinda celtic red design on an upper arm, and another one, as well as the large back piece. They are nice tats. I want them  :D

And the conversations which I have had with Aikea, she is always nice and pleasant...a bit blunt, but nothing rude. Am sorry to hear you (dispossessive) had a bad experience with her...

All this talk about *exclusive* sims makes no sense to me.

Anyone can make the same sim as another if they study it long enough. If you don't want your shit out there, don't fucking give it away.

I'm stumped as to why these sims mean so much to people. They're pretend!
It's like having a barbie and saying no one else can buy the same one.

Kiddy stuff.

Her "cult" snapped at you. I mean I like that story that she writes with her friend but not everything she does is fucking great. The funny thing about her is that she says she doesn't want the attention yet she does. It's a long twisted convoluted mess.

And Ry, I agree.

Voide, The Three has been around since god knows how long. I even have a version of The Three (or Triple Goddess as I call them) in my own story that I'm working on.

And yeah, she's heavily influenced by Neil Gaiman, but then again so am I.

And lastly, least we forget there is another person who writes DP also. She's nicer from what I hear though.

Black Mars, I absolutely realise that it was not her directly, but anyone who allows their network of friends to act in such a flagrant thuggish manner (to anyone who oversteps the boundary they define), well you have to wonder why anyone would allow that if they did not want it to happen.

Her behaviour, although admittedly indirect, does not change that, yes, I do like some of her work, but it does mean I have no more tolerance for the cult mentality that follows her around.

And I count myself among the numerous hacks out there writing something that is very heavily influenced by other things, and only moderately original, but I suppose the difference is that I am grateful, pleased and humbled by the attention that I do get, and feel capable of speaking for myself if the need arises. Convoluted mess or not, attention from people you don't know, who have opinions and independent thoughts  comes as part of the choice to put your self out there or not.

But then you don't share them. At all. Which is fine. You have every right to keep your creations to yourself. It's giving them to a bunch of people, then saying that they can't talk about them or post pics of them or share them that's completely messed up.

I never share any sims, either, except for my self-sim (who is about to get an overhaul thanks to Warlokk's meshes and some play time in Milkshape). Seeing people use her cracks me up. In my own game, it's a bit creepy.

I understand that, and you go at it at lot better than Aikea.  She gives her sims to her friends and she shows them of in everything she makes..  Then she gets pissed off if a sim has a tiny resemblance to her "pweshous Twistan."

I actually meant to put a question mark after I said "her cult snapped at you?" Which means I don't approve of that kind of behavior myself. That's why I like the fact that the beautiful_sims maintainer put that post up to show people how she really is. A lot of people who are part of her "cult" ignored it but I know I didn't. From that moment I was weary of her and especially Gelydh (who is apparently ten times worse). What makes it insane is that she hates other creators also and I heard this from a friend of mine.

A bitter little apple.

The only reason why I call it a convoluted mess is because one moment she wants everyone to go "wow" and then she wants to hide it.

I still don't see why anyone would want her sims in their game. If you look closely they aren't all that great and anyone can make a better clone. I guess because I prefer making mine and if someone asks me I'd gladly share.

I don't understand the not-sharing thing at all. My Sims are always going to be mine, in my game they'll always have my characterization, what does it matter if someone wants to use one because of how it looks and make it have a different characterization? It affects me not at all, except that I'd be happy they'd want to use something I made.

Aikea, of course, takes it to a whole different and obnoxious level. I want those Sims so I can satirize them. She obviously likes pain and drama, why not give it to her? Anyone who takes herself so seriously is begging others to laugh at her.

I'm fine with people who don't want to share their sims.  There are lots of people who preface a their introduction to a new creation, "The sim will not be uploaded."  I can't really sympathize much seeing how I'm about to worry myself into a grave because I don't know how many people will use my sim.

But you're right, Neriana.  Aikea takes it to a whole new level, bullying people who make similar sims.

Post by: de Pommes on 2007 September 28, 02:02:01
So much to reply to! I'll try to cover all the bases (I'm too lazy to track down quotes, sorry).

* Neil Gaiman is the shit. I've read damn near everything he's ever written, co-written or mentioned in his blog. </bibliophile> I'm dressing up as Delirium for Halloween. He's a genius. And pretty too. AND I've seen him in Minneapolis, (which is not far from where he resides). He's amongst my top five favorite authors of all time.

* I understand that a large portion of artists of any medium (including writing) draw influence from mythology. That's not my problem; My problem is that she thinks it makes her story COOL.

The whole three goddess thing is practically everywhere, I also realize this. I mean, I can't talk smack about that sort of thing, I've written countless short stories about the Kindly Ones abandoning their posts and feigning as normal people.

It just annoys me that she feel so confident in the uniqueness of her not-very-unique plot that she can sic her little fangirls on a 17 year old girl who just felt like posting some pictures out of boredom. And make no mistake: She sicced them on me. Her entry may not have said "OMFG go flame dis bitch," but she did complain about my un-Tristan-like character and linked to the entry with the pictures of him. & that is just way too high school (in its passive-aggression) for a woman who is either within or entering her third decade of life.

* As for my own (lack of) appreciation for her & her friend's story... I understand that this is very much my taste. There's no actual way to universally judge the worth of any form of art. (Except for the Meatslab dress, which everyone must agree is fuggin' ugly.) I'm just saying... It's kind of stereotypical of anyone that likes the things that she likes (writing, The Cure, vampires, Hot Topic, angst, etc.). And while we're on that topic--- she did not discover Patrick Wolf, she gets no indie-cred on that.

* People are allowed to like or dislike Aikea, I'm certainly not trying to convince anyone. I just wanted to share a prime example of the sort of person that enjoys prostituting their skill on TSR. If she's been polite or nice to you, awesome. I'm genuinely glad that she hasn't made a major habit out of sending her goonies to discredit the creativity of other people simply because they used a mesh.

* Though my instincts scream, "OMFG STUPID," I can sympathize with the desire to keep stuff to yourself. Fine. But when you've gone out of your way to make a sim (or in this case, an entire fucking cast of sims) popular, don't get all snooty about sharing him/her. And certainly don't send him/her to a few of your friends, only to tell others, "OMFG HE IS SPESHUL TO ME YOU GET NOTHING."

* I can accept that I'm wrong about the additional tattoos, but the descriptions of those don't sound very unique to me either. I mean, they sound cool in so far as tattoos go (I myself am looking into getting a few myself, but of a different nature entirely), but they're certainly not amazingly creative. So many people are into celtic designs, crosses and angel wings that its amazing she can go to sleep at night telling herself that she (and her characters) are the ONLY ONES.

Concerning tattoos, I can give Aikea credit for one thing: her tattoo tutorial over at MtS2. I don't know if it's still up, but from it I was able to make tattoos on my own. If she isn't going to share Tristan's tattoos that apparently no one else on the planet has, she was at least able to share how to make them with out charging anyone.

All the same, some people just aren't that skilled at creating their own custom content. And want to download that sort of thing instead of trying to figure it out for themselves. One of these days, I'll have to check out MtS2 and look into fulfilling a few tattoo requests, since I have at least that much figured out for myself.

* LOL, emo laundry detergent.

This is entirely too long, sorry.

There it is~! For some reason I thought it was over at MtS2, but I guess it's at her LJ. Maybe it was over at MtS2 at some point.

Doesn't matter, I found another one that shows you how to do *overlay* tattoos.

Dude, not wanting to share your Sims is one thing, but handing them out and then getting pissy about them being, you know, used is a whole'nother thing. She gotta set her priorities set - either keep them to herself and get no fangirls, or post them and get her ego fed, but be aware her precious creatures ain't safe anymore. And even one is annoyed by that, it's not difficult to calculate that a hissy fit would make you look daft and keep your emo reaction to self.

Comparisons with Gaiman are ridiculous even if they aren't in AG's favour (duh!), because one is a world famous yet self-conscious writer with great sense of humour, and another is a e-drama queen who makes emo soapies out of goofy goofy game.

Aaaand here be a little makeover for ya'll:

Eh, sims are some facial variables and then whatever eyes, skin, and hair you decide to slap on em.

Maybe it's because I have bred most of my sims, but even the ones I love, I'm not too attached to.

I haven't bothered to share any (aside from my Firefly ones), but I'd be tickled to see any of those in someone's pics, as well as any that looked a bit like mine just by coincidence.

An aside about the 'three' thing - and I'm surprised I even have to say this, but no one else posting here seems to realize it:

The number three, triple goddesses, the trinity, etc. has been around since the dawn of humanity. We think in threes, comedy works in threes,  we have three blind mice, three little pigs, three fates, even The Third Man and "Three is a Magic Number".

The fact that some fantasy writers have been using it is absolutely nothing special. They're using what is natural for us, and is prolific throughout myth and fable.

Oh, and symbols to represent "the three" are almost as old as three itself.

ngaire_j - there are also a few versions of Aikea's sims up at SFV, along with recolours of Tristans hair mesh if you're interested.

If anyone's interested, I did a bit of surgery with Tristan's tattoos, and moved them to an Oepu base. Also, I have the PSD layer of them if anyone wants to make their own skins with them.

That would provide a certain amount of instantaneous satisfaction, but in a way it would probably be much more vindictive overall to let them lead normal happy sim lives. You know, jobs, alien abductions, affairs with Don Lothario, Maxis content…

Oh, yes. I've been intending to do the asylum challenge (http://simscout.blogsome.com/mini-challenge-asylum/) with Tristan, Emily & co. Should be fun. :)

If I actually manage to do it, I've been thinking about posting the story to the Exchange. :)

Good luck with that. As long as you are prepared for the hate-ratings and nasty comments, go for it. The problem with assylum challenge is that it involves a type of angst, I plan a happy life for Tristan surrounded by a loving family with permaplat aspiration. He will not be wearing black at any point in his regular length, fruitful life.
If it works, I'll let you know where I put the pictures.

I have no problem with hateful remarks. I love poking people who take themselves way too seriously.

Tristan and the others will be wearing as much as AG's clothing as possible, because I want people to be able to recognize them.

The asylum challenge does indeed have a lot of angst, but as I intend to play the game with Andy as the controllable sim, he might actually be content, unlike the others. And would just love to watch Tristan peeing himself.

Happiness and angst free life for Tristan actually sounds actually pretty sweet. Maybe I should try it after I finish the challenge.

Enayla by her turn edited Rens/Louis- body skins. Isn't a small world?

I think she could actually be young though, she really doesn't have wrinkles, I just think she might be a natural blonde and maybe her thick make-up is covering up some of her eyebrows to make them look gray-ish.

Too much make-up is a bad thing and Dark shades age people.

What I don't understand is what her arm is doing in that picture.  I notice a lot of "scene" kids on Myspace do that.  What does having the arm up achieve?!

But I guess at least we know she's married (or faking it).  Unless the photo has been mirrored for some reason and that's actually her right hand.

Unless it's someone else's hand completely.  Which is stranger, since then it would look like someone is kneeling behind her and reaching up.

The hand bothers me so much.  Her face is fine.  Who cares about her face.

That reminds me of a scene from clueless when Cher compared Amber to the Mona Lisa. Just had to point that out.

I don't think she has a negative appearance. Just not what I expected. Her eyes are a lovely shade of blue. And the rest of her is ok. I'm done commenting on her looks.

But, that doesn't mean I post them up in public areas, that just screams for people to laugh. If you can't take everything people say with a slice of pieh and a cup of rum you'll never survive.

Edit: I will even say she would be even fairly attractive without all the crazy make-up's. Make-up's are teh scaries and unattractive though.

A while back I promised Tristan a full and happy mortal existence. I did add him to my game and let him marry a pretty girl. They had triplets, but BV crashes resulted in me raising them from infants 4 times at which point I got pissed off. Here are a few of the pictures I saved from my hard drive format.

I changed his name and removed all of AG's CC. He's much more attractive, even in EAxis clothing, with HP hair and a furry face.

First off, lol @ the fact that my horror story with Aikea had already been posted by my old friend from middle school. Fail me.

Second off, I've now got Emily, Jacob and Tristan, thanks to you all. I am looking for James, the drummer (whose name escapes me) & Mary. Maybe even Deanna, but I think she came out after BeautyScars had her falling out with crazy ol' Aikea. So if anyone has any idea, definitely let me know.

If not, I'll just make my own from scratch. but since I like making my sims look.. not like little Aikea clones, I'd rather not let it get to that point.

(I am working on a parody!)

Finally went to see what all the fuss over Deception Pass was about, and read it all a couple of weeks ago. All else aside, she does take very nice pictures. Storywise... not the worst thing I've ever read, but I can't see why it has garnered such a rabid following or why she's so possessive over her characters... they aren't that unique. I usually like Aikea Guinea's (and her sidekick gelydh) clothes even if the associated footstep sounds are never fixed (and I usually have to do it myself in SimPE), until last night, when I actually tried to put them to some use other than creating a (in my game) regular Sim.

No fat morphs. For f***s sake. These people are getting PAID for products that are only 33% complete. The audio problem I can fix. Broken meshes on the other hand are way outside my area of expertise.

Yeah, I've noticed that, which makes me even more surprised when there's no fat morphs. Then again, now that Gelydh is a "Featured Artist", she has to focus on churning out stuff daily to make money or else lose that 'coveted' status. If I remember correctly, there was one mesh of hers that was almost exactly the same as a H&M Stuff Pack mesh...

I am enjoying playing with Tristan and Emily, but the no skin in shower is a bit annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :D

That's a very easy thing to fix. Just export a skintone linked to the regular maixs meshes, export the Tristan skintone, copy the Tristan BMPs into the first project, and there you go.

If you need better instructions, go here: http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=41045
It's for clothing, but the process is the same.

I don't have much to add here, but I wanted to bump this ahead of the troll attack.

I will say though that no skin in the shower sounds creepy.

No skin in the shower IS creepy. Especially when you're using Crammyboy's penis... A floating head and penis - with nothing else - is kind of... disturbing

twistingsims - here you go, this is the Tristan skin base that stays put in the shower or other naked states:

I can't remember the current nickname of the person who made it... Cherrylipssim was her name over at the old SFV forum.

I haven't got any clothes made by Aikea in my game, mainly because I am not a fan of the goth/emo look (despite having emo-ish hair in r/l)

I prefer the small accessories she makes like the Art Nouveau necklaces. The scattered letter and vintage photographs are wonderful and I like her distressed wallpapers.

As for her sims, I don't see anything special about them. I only have 2 sims which are special to me and both I have downloaded from free sites, (one from sfv). Its a funny thing sims, you can get bonded to one which is kind of creepy and probably shows you have a limited social life like myself. I think Trinstan is ok looking, feminine, yes, but not as bad as other sims I see  ::) Personally I hate people putting eye liner, paper white skin, etc... on male sims. I think pale skin is fine but not overly pale. Maybe I'm being a hypocrite as I like to keep my skin pale, but I would never wear makeup! Its just peoples different tastes, and I accept that :) I think twinkleta27 produces some amazing clothes that I love for my male sims but I hate his/her anime male sims, I honestly would mistake them for females if it was a headshot only.

I used to have a sim I downloaded from mts2 years ago of a famous singer (its not available anymore). When I look back now at the few photos I have of this sim she looks pretty crap. But because I used her all the time I felt very upset when I lost her in a crash. Whilst I can understand Aikea's emotional attachment to her sims I think it was wrong of her to share them if she didn't wish others to use them. Maybe she feels that if she sees others using her hairs, she feels that that the person using them has no talent and its something of an insult to use them on their crappy sims/screenshot.

I think the photos she has on tsr2 are beautiful, defiantly unique to the sims2 community (unless I am missing some other person who creates similar or even better photos) However if you look on places like deviant art you are bound to find photos in the popular section that are similar to her sims2 work. I few days ago I found an amazing video on youtube of someones version of Alice in wonderland made in the sims. Alice was dressed as a little girl, pale skin, long black hair, etc.. Everything you would expect from a goth/corrupted version of Alice yet it still was very creative (it took the creator about a year to make) I was shocked to see in the comments section that someone accused of her 'ripping' Aikea Guinea's style. I have never read any of her stories but I saw her rendition of Edgar Allen Poe's, 'The Raven' Not really that inspiring to be honest, maybe it was just TSR's small story image size, I prefer to look at large photos and take in all the detail.

I'm not sure at what I'm trying to get to here, or if I'm even trying to get at anything. Just my thoughts I guess on the whole situation. I'm somewhat surprised at learning that shes in her 30's, this is the kind of behavior I would have expected from someone 16-25

Nice retort, full of intelligence and wit. I knew exactly what you were saying. You are an imbecile, bent on getting pirate attention through necromancy, and perhaps you suffer from a slight case of tourette's too. Is that right? And you expected sympathy by attacking one of our longest standing pirates here. So that must also mean you have a death wish. Well little illiterate emoesque asshole, why don't you go and verbal diarrhoea somewhere else?
Don't make Paden chase you and tear you a new one, because I can guarantee the only "fuck head" that will be left standing, will be yours.

Ooooh, I'm shakin in mah Reeboks! You're so fierce... so scary... so goddamn fucking STUPID! Look, you silly-assed brain fart from a cretin, it takes some real bone deep idiocy to exhume a thread that has been dead for months, asking for something that you sure the hell aren't going to get.

For one thing, there is a policy about not doing requests. Or did you miss that sticky? Or did you miss the whole, "read the shit you ought to find out before posting something and looking like a twat," lesson in Forum Posting 101? In your case, it's more like 404, but let us push on.

If you'd bothered taking a look at the forum threads in this section, you'd have noticed that the person who created those sims is now a friend of ours, and a member along with her partner in creating. You could have had a chance of asking NICELY, but no! You had to bring the dead back to life and make even more of a total ass of yourself than you would have done in a PM.

You're more annoying than the donation drives they have on public TV, where they break into the program every fifteen minutes or so and nag for twenty minutes for you to send them monies. You're more aggravating than a yeat infection on a hot summer day when you can't get home for hours. You're more exasperating than the guy with flatulence that sits right down next to you on the bus on a winter's day and you can't open the damn window! And you are more infuriating than the dog the refuses to be housebroken and keeps pissing on the sofa that cost one thousand dollars when it was on sale!

Gosh, yer so spaychul, you think you can do all this shit that we've roasted folks over for many moons before you even fouled our doorstep. I'd ask if your mama dropped you on your head, repeatedly, when you were a child, but it's obvious from your lame response that she did much more than that. She must have played basketball with you as the ball! Either that or rugby, not quite sure yet.

You are an error code in the data stream of life. You are a URL not found message. You are the blue screen of death when it comes to having a lick of sense about how to join in and not be noticed. You fail! You can't do it. Out and out truth is, you suck green Martian wangs when it comes to being anything other than an annoying pimple on the ass of humanity!

About the only time I've seen something as nasty as yourself was in high school and we were using microscopes to look at various bacterium. Then again, the comparison is apt because you're both as infectious and irritating as all hell. At least we could use Listerne on the bacteria to get rid of it, but you are going to take something a bit more extreme. If I were in the mood, I'd just casually slam you with a hammer or something... Oh fuck it, I AM in the mood! STFU!

Yes, the hammer has returned. And no, I don't fuck heads. I just fuck them UP.

A. Necromancy is bad mmkay?

I would like to take this opportunity to ask a question about this.  In most forums I know of, they would rather you necro an existing thread than start a new one.  Now in this case, yeah, it was stupid and I am not defending it at all.  But in general, why do we insist on new threads instead of necroing older ones if one has something new to say?  Besides, sometimes we are inconsistent in that we yell when people necro and half the time we yell when new threads are made.  Seriously, unless you are an old hand around here, sometimes I feel like you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

And yeah, I have read the FAQ more than once.  Still doesn't explain some stuff people do around here.  Too many people try to moderate.

Also, I actually feel sorry for this troll. I feel like it was deprived of a good education in troll school. It's just so pathetic. Maybe it will make up for lack of creativity with staying power. I sure hope so. I feel like giving it a pat on its little troll head. I think Paden's given it an education in how to insult people, at least.

The way I feel about it, lets say a thread about puppies goes dead. Well 3 months later if someone has new information regarding puppies I'm all for posting it into that thread.

This one, he had no information to add. He was asking if someone could send him that skin instead of asking Aikea herself. He even failed to quote properly. The way I feel about it, he could have pm'd her, or put this into Ask a Pirate instead of reviving an older thread.

Yeah, that is why my question was not about this post in particular.

Title: Re: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: Missbonbon on 2008 October 02, 04:12:34
Whoops... well in general, if there is information to add, to me it is okay to necromancy. But if it's super dead, like over a year, I would rather a new thread. Who would look so far back to add to a topic anyways?

But if there is nothing to add, and it's a question that could be pm'd to the appropriate party, asked in Ask a Pirate, or answered by themselves by lurking/searching, then I mind. Because to be frank, I lurked here a long time before I registered. Then once I registered I lurked even more. Granted I didn't read all of the threads, so when an old one pops up out of no where with 10 plus pages it catches me off guard and makes me think I missed something. So then I waste time reading threads from months ago because someone wanted to ask a question about a skintone.

As for new threads, I don't mind new ones at all. If it's dumb, like the whole "Why is everyone so means!" thread, then I'm sure people mind. But likewise, before I start a thread I try to remember to check to see if my information is relevant to an older thread. If I'm not adding anything to an older thread I keep it to myself. If it's a question I go to ask a pirate.

As for the whole moderating thing, I don't think to many people are moderating. It's just that there is a thread for new people to read, that 9 times out 10, people don't read. They join up, then post, then get defensive when they break one of the rules. Just like if you go to say "The Sims Writer's Hangout." Post a link to PMBD and it will be removed along with a couple people saying that isn't allowed. Here it is a bit more harsh, but I think it's justified.

Not venting at you, and yes atleast he got the correct thread, but it was fail on all other parts other than that.

Title: Re: Looking for Aikea Guinea's Sims
Post by: keirra on 2008 October 02, 08:20:26
As long as there is new news or something new and relevant added, I would rather see an old thread brought back to life than a new one started. That is what the rule has been since I joined in Dec. 06.

Of course, this necro doesn't fit that criteria.

Ah. That was cool. As for necromancy, I also believe that if it's new information definitely necromance it. If it's opinion or a request. NO. Necromancy in that regard is a massive PHAIL.There is plenty of space to try necromanced topics, like "How big is your Sims Download Folder' in the many many derailed troll threads :D

Moms don't have a cock. They have a vagina. Did they teach you what that was at school yet? It's  'ladies parts'.

Men have a penis, slang term as you used, being 'cock'.

Women have a vagina, slang term being 'fanny, or twat'.

I'm surprised you don't know about twats. You know, you being one and all.

It looks much better now to my cafeine deprived OCD brain! :D Anyhow saying as I was forced at gunpoint to take German as a second language at school (mumble bloody hated it's pronounciation mumble) I can now swear fluently in it. Everything else more or less has thankfully faded away  ;D.

Fake edit: anyone spare me a space bar? I seem to have misplaced mine tonight. Or even a spare thumb, mine refuses to hit the damned space. argh...now I have to recheck my entire post again  :o

Cut out for the dumbness.

Are you an illiterate twat? Do we need to teach you that women don't have penis's? Or are you so in-educated that you don't know the difference between a vagina and a cock? Let me tell you. A vagina is something your mother has, that all the men in your neighborhood partake in. A cock is what is slammed into your asshole every night. Got it? Good.

Oh and was Paden to mean for you? Well let me tell you something, you are bothering me like a tick on my ass. Did you know that if you jump off a cliff you can fly!? Go try it, and leave this forum in peace.

Or do we need to tear you a new one for you to shove various objects into?

I don't know what makes you so stupid, but it really works!  Actually calling you stupid would be an insult to stupid people. My apologies to all those who have an IQ below 20. Except you beninblaone. And what the hell kind of name is beninblaone? Were you trying to spell bologna and realized your to fucking illiterate to spell? Just so you know, if you had another brain, it would be lonely. Very, very lonely.

You are the kind of person who, when one first meets you, one doesn't like you. But when one gets to know you better, one hates you. I mean sinking so low to try and insult me in another language? How childish. But two can play that game...

I wonder if, even after the dozens of posts telling that Aikea is a member of PMBD, this pitiful excuse of a troll actually tried to contact her. His little pea-sized brain must have completely forgotten the reason he posted in the first place.

Ah, having both high school French and German under my belt is coming in handy. For once.

I did French in school and I don't have a clue what that meant!

And Alexia - I have a problem with hitting the semi colon instead of apostrophe!

That is a relief, cuz Babelfish made no sense of it:

Right if we know, I think your of annoying like l' hell now.
The laughter are on and made with and maintaining your Juste is delayed.
To go from l' before and to cry in a corner, nobody looks after here.
Thus to close kisses it and breaks into leaf s' you like it.

Lol! I love Babelfish. When I played Popomundo, there were a lot of turkish players on that site. Well sometimes for good chuckle my friends and I would use Babelfish to translate. Always made a bad day turn good.  :)

Two questions:

A) Where do trolls even dig up such ancient threads?

and

B) Why are we kicking the thread's corpse back to life by bashing the troll for several pages? XD

This is a question you must also ask yourself.  :D

I know! Hence the 'we'. I still do not have an answer, regardless. ._.
