Hey my lovelies.. i found the most sexy paysite to grace gods green earth.

http://malesims.us/

^^^^^^^ OH MY GOD.. 25 cents per item.. hey big spender.. i surrender.. i love their clothing with 'sims' and 25 cents attached to them :).

That 5 second typing of the word sims in paint just sold me :).

That is so damn hawt.

Well aren't they brave/stupid (choose most applicable).

Using the word 'purchase' for Sims content.

Ooh, naughty.

Yeah, I stumbled upon that site recently looking for some mens clothes. Why is there no decent clothing for men in the game? In any case the site blatantly has a shopping cart set up and I am willing to bet that many of the "items" for sale are recolors and not original meshes. Which even if the meshes are new still seems blatantly obvious to be breaking EA copyright! I dont understand why they allow this chaos to continue. What happened to a friendly sharing community?

$0.25 for fugly recolors that come with equally fugly screenshots. WHAT?!

Post by: Ghanima Atreides on 2006 November 20, 14:25:24
Apart from the fact that thre are no items in MOST categories and those that have them are just badly done recolors of maxis meshes (yup no new meshes that I could see), the descriptions of these undies cracked me up: You may be inspired to save lives wearing this bikini. Silver metallic "Guard" printed on seat in a special ink that won't crack when it stretches. Hello? It's pixel paint. It doesn't "crack" :P Plus I find the usage of the word bikini for a male swimsuit so funny  8)

And I do find the "purchase" button hillarious. Just like a regular (fugly) clothing company except the clothing you get does not actually exist in real life! Woo!

Umm, I wouldn't worry about this one. Judging by the content of this site, nobody is going to purchase THAT crap. I mean, this beats even Carla Niven.

Well good for them , if 7 people want to pay. I applaude anyone who can sell stuff like that and find people willing to pay.

I think some people deserve what they buy :P

Are we meant to squint til we go blind to see what we're shelling out for?

Even in micro-format it's horribly glaring.

Seems like someone's banked their ZOMG INTERNETS AND SIMS FAME just a little early!

EDIT: Oh you can get bigger images. OUCH MY EYES. Who needs a rainbow-striped suit? Who cares how many inside pockets it has? These answers and more on the Ten o'clock news.

Have you ever seen Will Wright? I am convinced the Sims clothing must match his personal style before it is approved for Sim use.

yes, I am aware he no longer works directly with The Sims games, I believe his stylish legacy carries on.

See, to download even the free stuff, you need to register. And registering probably counts as being a customer on their site. But I have no idea who would download that stuff, even the free ones.

2. Downloads
Not a lot of things there yet, and the pictures of the ones that are there are of low quality and the models not attractive. May I be completely honest? With such previews, I'm not sure I'd pay to download the outfits (no offense goes to the outfits, just the pics).

That's not completely honest...

Well, that's pretty blatant, wouldn't you say?  I have to give them credit *cough* for not trying to hide the part where people would be making money off this, without paying homage to the usual "bandwidth" sob story.

I also found this (http://pics.livejournal.com/grazhir/pic/00001f0w) to be amusing.  Nothing in the category, you say?  Then how come there are two offerings to titillate and delight consumers?

A 10% commission, you say? That sounds great! I'd love to make two and a half cents from each of the three people that are going to buy my work! I hope the system is set up soon so I can sign up right away!

Blue is considered a calming color and that is why I chose that type of theme. However, I have been looking into changing it to a warmer color like red or orange.

I remember when I was a child, I enjoyed very much to play pretending to be a grocer, or some other shopkeeper. Collecting fake goodies to sell, build up store furniture with cardboards... there are toy cash registers, toy phones, whatever...

Many paysites are just playing the same: build the store, put a toy cash register in it, some goodies, and so on. You can also have your own forum: spend many hour of enjoyement setting it up, creating all the boards, you can also write down the rules, just as the real forums do!
I bet that a big bunch of these "paysite owners" haven't spent even a single brain cell thinking about the sense of their actions. They're simply playing a new game, emulating what the others do.

I have not decided yet if all this is more sad than disgusting, or both.  :?

ETA: Just for not get out of a good habit :P I blame the EA! OfB seems to have pushed in everybody the need of drop a crate in the front yard with a sign "LEMONADE 1$" on it. :)

Err why would you ever do this?  10% commission off your skins.  That's like a slap in the face.  If you are interested in selling your skins, wouldn't you just go ahead and do it, instead of having someone else make 90% profit off your work?  The idea is crazy to me.

Yeah, it's a pretty insulting proposal unless your site happens to be like, TSR or something...

As for who'd download those things, I wouldn't, but I can see why some people might go 'OMG MEN'S CLOTHES!!!' and jump on it...

Well yeah, this is not a well known site where you might get recognition or respected for being a part of it.  The sheer idea that someone would be interested in that type of offer, from that site is hilarious.

I find it hard to imagine that these people like Carla Niven, MaleSims ect. are even being serious.  I'd almost be more inclined to think they start these sites as a joke just to see how many stupid people they can get to donate.  Why they think anyone would be interested in paying the inane prices for what they offer is purely mindblowing to me, and yet the sites exists.  Truly the sims community is one of a kind.

Hmm, I don't know if the joke really is on them. I think it's on us
Kids are just weird, you know how they gladly spend their entire allowance on utter crap like collecting cards and so on. I have asked my kids about this phenomena and their answer was chrystal;
See, I don't work for my money, mom, you do! Therefore money has no real meaning to me, I don't have to do anything to get it.

I don't know, it must be kids and blissfully dumb people that pay for that kind of stuff, and the paysites are just raking it in. Well, maybe not this one, only 7 poor souls so far

Post by: Feverish on 2006 November 21, 03:59:48
Yea you do value money more when you have to work for it and learn that you only get what you earn.
I can't believe someone would pay for that stuff though.
Not even loot worthy.

Well, old habits die hard...I use the term clothes personally, but if I want skintones, I'll be looking for skinTONEs, cos...skins sounds either icky like skin, or skins as in kingskins...>.>

ETA: Also it reminds me of a friend I had, who used to buy pork scratchings, cos they gave him something for his teeth to work against (he could chew through a drinks can in about a minute) and he used to refer to them as 'Piggg skinssssssss'....and the word skins has done that thing where it loses all meaning as a word when you say it too much...:o

At least learn to use the art program and find the settings then it'll be better quality.

I think thats what we call "pork skins" "pork rinds" or "chicharrones".
I've recently become addicted to them.
I like the hot and spicey flavored ones.
I like to chew stuff too.
And they are nice and crunchy.

I like spicy pork rinds.  I must buy some this week-end to eat.

My recent snack diet has been entirely fruits and tea, w/ the occasional cheesecake to add some richness.

I have to say it's been working quite well for me. I used to feel all icky after a dousing of soda or over-processed chips or crappy Hershey-grade chocolate. Now I actually feel nice and refreshed after a snack. I like the feeling.

Hershey chocolate is icksome. As are avocadoes...When I was about 3, I ate so many cherries in one go that I puked them up, oddly, they're still one of my favourite fruits...

Avocados are a gift from the gods. Yummmmm

Hersheys chocolate, on the other hand, is an abomination and should be smote from the confectionary world.

*smoting Hersheys*

Bleck. I'd rather eat a wax candle. It would taste better.

And I am allergic to cherries. Pity that I love them so much.

I like the spicy Cheetos.  Actually, I like any snack food that's spicy.  Because no one else in my family eats them, so I don't have to worry about anyone eating all of it before I finally get hungry enough to eat/not lazy enough so I can get up and get it.
