Wow. That's just so wrong. I always thought Milanocat made good things(or recolored good things). Why can't she just stick to recoloring Liana's meshes? She's so far up her ass I'm surprised she found her way out to steal yours  :lol:

Have you emailed the site, or left a message in their guestbook - maybe they will take it down - or risk the 2-for-u fiasco.

They look a little bit different. Are they photoskinned?

I've downloaded both and looked at the textures using the Clean Installer. There's obvious differences between them both, especially the pink one. The ruffles in the skirt are a lot smaller in Milano's version. It looks like you've both just used the same source photo.

The necklines are different too, and the bodice ends lower in the first lot.

No the mesh belongs to liana. its the dress texture and style  its also too much of a coincidence that 2 different dresses of mine that were copied belong to the same set I have, and are part of one set that the FA has.

I'm not sure if they are free or not, I will have to look again.

I exported them in bodyshop, and looked at the textures - they're both photoskinned, but they are different. I was glad I did it too - now I can see what photoskinning looks like :)

The ruffles are smaller in the liana raspberry one, and it looks like the liana one has a few extra cloning strokes at the side for the other one.  Where you've gotten a clear view of the dress, they've cloned bits at the side.  The liana purple one is a bit crappy due to the cloned texture though - so good job.

I would have thought that maybe she used the same texture as I did as we are both photo skinners, if it were just one dress, but with it being both dresses from the same set and the same mesh, thats more than a coincidence for me, she may have modified the texture, (resizing the ruffles ect) but I still think that it was copied/lifted from my file. the only thing that would convince me otherwise is if milanocopykat can produce the origional picture for the dress.

As its being offered for free I will let it go, but the minute they appear as payfiles on TSR, (as I'm sure they will) I will make a formal complaint to EA.

I agree that it's way too convenient that they both showed up at the same time in a set together. Perhaps they feel stealing from pirates isn't stealing. Don't you think that makes them the same. They are always bitching about how PMBD takes thier stuff and then they turn around and do the same thing. Hypocritical I think, Quite hypocritical.

You are being a pain in their asses lately, and this is a way to have a little revenge... showing you you are 'replacable'... Not very businesslike for a business...  more like petty.

That means you definately have their attention, so you do have an impact with what you do.

Probably she saw the dresses you made, said "Oh! How pretty!" and then figured she would try and make ones exactly (okay, really, really exactly) like them.

Oftentimes with photoskinning people will end up using the exact same source photo which can lead to confusion especially if she was using your dresses as "inspiration" (recently I can think of the situation around the similar lipsticks that Bruno and Iced Mango made, right).
 
However, if it did become pay I would throw a hairy stink about it too.

Actually, sherrie's is much better. It looks lika milano cut half the top off and the sims tig bitties are about to pop out. Sherrie's is better shaped at the top. Also, it's more obvious that milano's is photoskinned.

Uhm... don't get it. Lianasims and TSR are not the same, no? Shouldn't you complain about/to Liana instead?

Milanocopykat is a TSR FA. Liana is fully aware of the theft, aware enough to (ask TSR for my ip?) and ban me from her site. so I shall have to send my complaint to her c/o her yahoo website host.

ETA: I think your right about TSR being upset, guessing this coinciding with my new policy page going up today, is a little more than a coincidence.

I have had a mail from Liana, from Lianasims2, who hosts the files I questioned. She kindly provided me with the original pictures used in the creations, along with the files to compare. I have not had time to compare the files, but I can confirm that these are the exact same pictures that I used for my dresses, and its now clear to me that I made a mistake and that it was just a  coincidence that we used the same picture for our dresses, resulting in them looking the same, and that they were not stolen. I would like to sincerely appologise to Liana for my mistake.

Are they threatening to sue you?  Is that why you're apologising?  Is it just me, or am I being really, really cynical?

We all goof up, just look at me! On second thought, don't look at me unless you want to wet your pants laughing and knowing that yes, idiots can breathe and walk at the same time, while talking on a cell phone! Seriously, though, it's easy to make a mistake in the atmosphere of the Sims 2 community, because there are paysite owners who do rip off the free creators. One is Thomass, who keeps the work of artists who are no longer contributing to his bullshite site and he doesn't get their permission but blatantly tells them that their work is on his site and it's gonna stay there. Bastards abound and it sometimes happens that mistakes are made. The important thing is that you realized it and stopped the crap before it went too far... I still respect ya, sherrie_sim, cause you're honest enough to admit when you screw up... That and I like the stuff you make and the way you don't talk down to the less than able when it comes to making cc... Pass the rum!

There has even been a case of a TSr artist ripping off a freesite creator - however it did get taken down really fast and it wasn't an FA or [I think] an SA.  They did look an awful lot alike in the images.

And blue is the new Nouk.  I think green is the new blue and white is the new green, with black being the new white.

I think red is still  red though.
