One thing I've always disliked about TSR is how they've artfully mingled the crap downloads with the decent ones. I dunno if this is a deliberate attempt to slow down subscribers - I can't help thinking it is - but even if it isn't set up to do that, it certainly has that effect. It takes ages to weed through the ugly, unskilled recolors to find the good, worthwhile content. I know it's always been this way, since Sims 1, but man. What a sucktacular way of doing things. Crap content = the appearance of more downloads, even if half of them are things no sane Simmer would ever want near their game. Arr.

Personally, I hate the lack of categories. I wound up having to throw "male" in the search box at some point when I was after some male clothing. A pipe dream, I know, and yeah, there are creators that I'll probably look up first, but sometimes, I do want some variety so I do stupid things like that. Then I realize I'm not that desperate...

Half? The craptacular stuff makes up wee bit higher percentage than that. And yes, this is a ploy since the Sims 1 days to brag about the number of downloads available, as if quantity outshines quality. Apparently in many peoples eyes it does, otherwise they would have imploded years ago.

Why do people inesplicably downalod even the most horrible stuff TSR have? Geez, these people also have the guts to leave comments to thank the same 'creators' I'd throw in the fire for good and without even blinking. We know we're talking Uber Craptastic here. Beyond Human crapstastic. Heck, it's Cross and Garlic craptastic. I hate those tasteless fucktards almost as much as I hate paysites. Their fascination with stuff worth weeks of eye bleach and barf fuels the greed of paysite owners, and laughing at them isn't enough of a satisfaction anymore. It's just too much. It's a SIN. IT'S EVIL! :shock:

Well, honestly, what at TSR is worth downloading (that isn't available elsewhere) other than cyclonesue, aikea_guinea and cashcroft (if you like Victorian stuff) and maybe sunair? Am I missing someone vital? Every other folder I've looked into has had piles of shite in it.

As far as exclusive TSR?  I like windkeeper and Shannanigan.

I like a couple of the SA's as well and some of them don't upload anywhere else.

I gotta admit, I really do like Shannanigan's stuff and Marko's hair.

The Carina stuff by chrissie, but mostly so as to have the stuff to go with the lit stairs that Numenor put on MTS2 for her.

Saves me the time of reverse engineering the rails.

I love Xandhers and Cashcrafts creations.

Theres a couple of good FA's there, but yeah most of the site is utter crap...

gelydh had nice stuff too.

I just discovered Shannanigan. That's the kind of stuff I've been looking for a while. I love tacky furniture.

Oh...and then I pirated the pirate stuff just for the irony...even if it's not really that funny. I'm just strange. :P

I admit, though, there are enough creators there that are sort of hit-or-miss that make some OK stuff that's the sort of thing I don't mind having but that doesn't mean I find it worth paying for. Then again, that's how I feel about even good custom content...I prefer supporting the artists than their stuff.

I discovered Shannanigan back in Sims 1.  Her stuff was superb.  What I find mildly amusing is that she actually *did* have bandwidth problems but still kept her site free out of her own pocket (and I *think* some donations toward the end)!  I guess with Sims 2 she didn't want the stress.

I have all their stuff :D, I think they're friends with aikea guinea.

Gelydh's style is very much like aikea. I like her face masks too.

well,I love Jirka's stuffs(have some exceptions too;Kate Winslet & Jessica Biel amongs them),and ChazDesigns,like the Prada Perfume n Jessica Simpson hair,and some of his sims

xandher. i loved her stuff for ts1 and she's probably the only person at tsr who handpaints all of creations.

I'm surprised that more people don't know of her or like her work. Maybe most of the people here were never Sims1 players so hence they never came across her work from the 'old days', she was very well known in the Sims1 community, I guess not so much in the Sims2.

I found her singlets [the ones with the bra straps showing underneath and the necklaces] through a wcif, and i've been obsessed with her stuff since.

also, i'm obsessed with aikea_guinea's mens stuff. there is too little good mens things out there.

I love Ms Barrow's stuff-her maxis matching completer sets are my favourite items in game :D

I'm a huge fan of Cyclone Sue myself. I can never get enough of her 'urban decay' stuff, and her lots are fantastic. She seems very down to earth as well, and was more than decent when she poked her head in here once upon a time. The lady has class, I think. Now if only we could get her away from TSR...

Cyclone Sue is awesome.  Her stuff is good and original.  And when i have seen her posts, they are always nice and helpful.

On my quest for dresses that don't suck, I found that Confide's stuff is quite nice.

Xandher is pretty good too.
