Hmm... so they are saying that the donations items are special gifts to those who donate, but those who don't get the scraps. It's like, 'These items are just TO GOOD for the everyday person who doesn't want to waste their money on sims content, because they want to spend that money on other things, like a box of mac-n-cheese. Donating shouldn't come with a little prize in the bottom of the box. That's bribery. If I want to donate, I will, but I don't want you to give me an 'incentive.' If I donate, I'll do it just because I'm nice. That isn't really considered donation anyways. An exchange of money for anything in return doesn't really fit under the definition of 'donation.' And the last line makes it sound like donators are saviors, or martyrs. Just my two pennies.

Actually, I thought it was posted in April.  It's been up for a while.

How long has Raonsims been around anyway?  I hate that sites that aren't even a month old pop up with pay items, stating that their bandwidth is being eaten up so quickly.  :roll:

Some months, now. I believe she had pay items to begin with.

In fact, there was a thread on here complaining about the fact that she popped up randomly, with no reputation, and was a paysite (and that this was a growing trend).

In short - the "LOL NEEDZ MONEY FOR HOSTING" excuse falls through once again.

Having recently been to that site, I wouldn't donate to it even if I wasn't against paysites. Every other link I clicked led to a SQL server error. Sending money to a site that's so broken almost insures you're not going to get your money's worth.

So she/he/it should Pes be thankful...after all he's saving her bandwidth...

Yeah, she randomly uploaded to MTS2 encouraging people to visit her new site - and DUN DUN DAH it was a paysite  :roll:

If she really did need the donations for the site, then she should go free and ask people to just donate if they want to...thats fairer, not illegal, and would probably work!

The problem with Raonsims is that (with like so many paysites) the objects are very high poly, but yet s/he neglects to mention it anywhere.

I got it from booty, but I'd be really pissed off if I had actually paid for it.

What the fuck does that sentence even mean?  I've tried reading it aloud, I've tried inserting punctuation (ooooh, that sounds dirty!), I've even tried removing words and I still don't understand a damned word of it!  Maybe some of the money she's taking from poor, mislead idiots should be used for writing lessons instead of web site maintenance?  Because, Jimney Christmas, woman!  I cannot understand a bloody word!

"I'm not sure what donators think about paysites, all I'm saying is the money will go to website maintenance"

PS: website maintenance includes feeding Raon and her chilluns, because without Raon and her Cuuutttee chilluns, there is no website.

Well,for starter,I never liked raon's works,the free hair aren't worth Dling,and even if they got great looking mesh,the colors and textures is a major turn off

i was thinking *this might be a little off topic* but cant they just invest on getting google ads?
so in that way you dont have to make no one pay for your things but your still getting money. sure google gets a fraction of the money you earn but if you are getting visited by many people daily you get alot of money regardless. just a thought.

well im just saying that as a suggestion so that we dont have to pay at all for there things.

nostalgicpaty, it may be a bit more helpful if you gave that advice to them instead of posting it here. I'm not sure exactly what we're supposed to do with it.  :)

What I hate most about Roan is that her shit hair isn't color-binned and doesn't move. If you are going to charge, shouldn't you make sure your shit is up to standard with the rest of the community? That goes for peggy, too.

i posted it here to see what you guys think of it and to see if my suggestionis even a real replacement for making people pay. but hmm as if i can get incontact with them.

nostalgicpaty, it is a good idea. Most paysite owners do have ways for simmers to get in contact with them. Some have guestbooks, others have email info posted, and yet others have forums. Best thing to do is to go to their sites, see what kind of contact info they have posted and go from there. Just be prepared for them to be less than receptive of your suggestion. That's not saying all of those you contact will be non-receptive. Some of them are very nice but there are always those few bad apples.  :)

I actually think google ads are too complicated for their greedy mind to understand, plus if they keep their pay files, google might not accept them into the program because they're illegal...

You can try though, websites that target a specific product usually generate a lot of revenue that way.

if she can affort to buy photoshop and meshing programs, im almost positve she can affort to run a site...with out a donation drive

Her browns often have a more sludge green colour. If I ever download from there (well the booty  :wink: ) I have to make and bin my own recolours.

And they certainly wouldn't use stolen copies of Photoshop or meshing programs to make items for which they then CHARGE.  Why, that would be wrong!

I would not pay for her downloads, but I would never pay for any downloads. And I thought this way WAY before I knew this place existed....

However....

Am I the only one who thinks her hair is very nice? I went through the list of sites (been to nearly all major paysites just to peek), and I think her hair is one of the nicest looking. If someone held a gun to my head and demanded I give money to a paysite, it'd be to Raon... simply because I do like her work... I prefer it to peggysims, I like her textures better. O.o

(although I do bin the hair after DL myself) :/

No, you're not the only one. I like most of it a great deal and use it frequently in game. Most of her textures are good and the make for nice recolors.

Apparently I am the odd man out as I couldn't give a rat's ass whether or not hair is color binned.

I also would never pay for any of her downloads, but I don't think her hairs are too bad. Some of the colours are little weird, and I usually have to bin them, but compared to a lot of other pay sites' hairs, they're not the worst.

Yeah, I like Raon's meshes but what is up with the some of the recolours? Blonde does not equal yellow, woman!

Every hair from Raon that I be havin' downloaded from th' booty has gone starboard ou' o' me downloads folder again! Lily livered scurvy dog! Most o' th' textures suck, an' I hate 't when they be nay binned an' animated. Ser'sly.

I like the meshes but not the colours. However at least they aren't too shiny (like Peggy) so they are not too hard to recolour.

Or green. bleh.

To be fair though on my old monitor the color was vastly askew and dark. It had happened slowly over time and I didn't realize how bad it was. So, when I got my new monitor I looked at alot of my stuff and went, "Wow! I had no idea I made that color/shiney/whatever!" Some of my own creations went to visit the Recycle Bin.  :lol:

Green hair can be quite useful at times, such as for aliens, plant sims, or sims who just want to have green hair.  :wink:

You can put custom hair on Plantsims?  Can you tell me how?  I am not all that fond of the leaves they have now.

Quite honestly, I'm not sure if you really can. I only have one plant sim and one faux plant sim child. I haven't tried to change his hair but I use the green hair for his faux plant sim child.

I think Raon's hairs a better made then peggy's and her textures are better too. Also, color binning isn't that big of a deal to me. I use mostly black anyways. I love black hair on my sims. Especially if they're pale light skin.

I like her hair also. At least it doesn't disappear into the body or fold in half. I think she uses a real hair texture on the hair the wrong way by using a texturizer filter, which makes it look off. Her colors sometimes are a little strange, but I think she's one of the better out there at making hair well other than Nouk. She's the bestest ;) I even like a few of Rose's hairs though. So maybe I'm just easier to please than most. lol

my main issue with her stuff, beyond the obvious charging people, is that i downloaded some free hairs a bit ago.  I thought I'd downloaded 3 hairs.  I was trying to figure out which hair mesh i needed for a recolor from MTS2.  I narrowed it down to 3 very similar ones.  I did that download, and then the download from MTS2.  I went to my game, and discovered that I did not have a black brown red blonde custom in three styles.  I had like 20 blacks browns reds blondes customs in three styles.  and none of them were the mesh for the one i wanted from MTS2.  GARR!!!  and, in addition to that, I like one in game from the 100 hairs that are now there.  I cannot figure out which one it is in my freaking folder.  
It's a folder with just those downloads in it, but since it's literally 100, I'm just going to delete them all and then figure out if I have any bald sims.

**edit: i just noticed that i did not clarify, it turned out the mesh i needed to make the MTS2 recolor work was a donation mesh.  i could probably get it out of the booty, but I don't care anymore.**
