Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: littlemisspirate on 2007 June 01, 16:21:08 When I checked Peggysims this morning to see if a new monthly gift was up, in anticipation of downloading it from the booty, I noticed something a little different about the main page: new blinking shit! (http://www.peggysims2.net)
If I recall correctly, Peggy's never run ads on her page before. Did I miss this, or could this be a sign that business is no longer booming for her? Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: missangelica on 2007 June 01, 16:27:06 Or she's becoming even more greedy? If that's possible?
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: squishy on 2007 June 01, 16:28:47 Peggy's site is dangerously close to giving me a seizure whenever I go there.. I didnt know it was humanly possible to put so much pink blinkering hell on one site..
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Frank on 2007 June 01, 16:53:51 Too bad we can't mass attack her site and force a shutdown due to high traffic,lol............just a thought............
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Hecubus on 2007 June 01, 17:12:42 I learned a long time ago to block onsite ads as well as popups. I still see Google ads, and the occasional non-threatening banner, but for the most part, I avoid the blinky shit.

I'll sue her for making me blind. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Ash Redfern on 2007 June 01, 19:04:13 I'm still wondering if she is ever going to take down the santa fairy or just leave it up until next Christmas.
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: littlemisspirate on 2007 June 01, 19:07:03 Quote from: "ameramer" The June monthly "gift" is hideous. I used to like how the hair looked on her models (until I saw them in game- not all but most get deleted) but now even on the models the hair looks craptastic. Wow, that IS awful. Like half of it just needs to be taken off the top. I admit I'm a sucker for her hair (although one day I WILL learn how to mesh so I can fix all those annoying gaps), but that doesn't even look good in images. I notice lately she's been using a lot of photo references with her hair meshes. Think she's trying to subtly counteract the Poser-ripped claims? Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (http://www.peggysims2.net/update/update_do_070601_1_b.jpg) What. the. hell. :O Seriously. It looks pretty much NOTHING like the reference picture.. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Nina on 2007 June 01, 19:13:17 *shakes fist*
Hold, hold! That model is suppose to be Jessica? MURDER! Jessica is sacred! Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: littlemisspirate on 2007 June 01, 19:13:17 It was a bad idea to start with, though. Jessica's extensions are so laughably obvious in that pic. Usually her stylist does a much better job blending them with her real hair.
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: fionaskye on 2007 June 01, 19:17:00 That poor model looks like she has some horrible birth defect that has caused her head to grow to unusually large proportions... either that or she's "from France". (Blah-hahaha!)
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: iamcoolerthanyou on 2007 June 01, 19:37:42 Oh my! That hair is so awful! It's like a big lump with a little tail coming out of it! Yuck! And then Peggy tries to call it a 'gift'. Well, if someone gave me a gift like that I would not appreciate it one little bit.
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Felix on 2007 June 01, 19:52:42 Not only is that hair a bad inspiration to begin with (looks like a version of a mullet if you ask me), but Peggy did manage to make it look worse. The model looks like she has a huge forehead and a receding hair line. There's something wrong with that girl's eyesite and perception me thinks.
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: keirra on 2007 June 01, 19:54:44 The model also looks like an elder. Why in the hell is she hunched over?

(Peggy) Post by: Succy on 2007 June 01, 23:49:22 I admit the model might not fall under my standards for "pretty", but then again, the skeptic in me would like to give her points for going for a diverse sim look - and diversity does match my playstyle.
I'd like to remind you all that she's not selling the model and that almost all of us here won't be spending money on either the model or the hairstyle anyway... So let's wait until the hairstyle arrives in the booty and see what gives. Finally, I can already think of many gothy adaptations of said hairstyle as long it's decent in game, in both it's animations and textures, so I am waiting eagerly to try it out. I am a hair addict and I like new toys. :P PS: Though that balding spot on the closeup seems kinda worrying... Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Bliss on 2007 June 02, 00:31:24 I thought the model was supposed to be Lindsay Lohan.

And I bet she has again removed the all the gaps and seams visible in the game. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: scribble on 2007 June 02, 10:42:19 Hecubus, how was your night? I haven't been to Peggy's site in over a year, because I couldn't stand all that blinking. I headed over there tonight to see just how bad the blinking had gotten and... gasp... I saw none at all. God bless Firefox and the creator(s) of AdBlock Plus! Someone mentioned Rose... I downloaded the new Rose hair from the booty the other night... it looked pretty and I wanted to use it in my game. Urgh. Asymmetrical hairline followed by an asymmetrical fringe at the back of the neck. I'm all about symmetry, so that one is going to have to be deleted. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? ... Ok. I think I now know what that is. I've got to admit, it's a miss-understood masterpiece. Peggy's only trying to cater for Sims of a less fortunate mental state. The Sim has obviously tried to back-comb her hair rather badly in the recent past and has tried to rectify the mess with a pair of kitchen scissors. To add further detail, I beleive the bald patch to be a sign of stress alopecia. Really adds character to the hair. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: mando on 2007 June 16, 22:10:19 Apparently, it was a really rough night for the latest Peggy model. I think the bizarre, dirty looking strands are really what makes it. I love when people go to the trouble of trying to add alpha channels and then don't bother to go to the trouble of making them not look pixellated and hard edged.

Bedhead!! Of course, even if I brush it, I can't leave it down, or I wind up with my head hair caught around my neck and under my armpits, which is not comfortable. Maybe I need a trim. However, one cannot forget The Invisible Pink Unicorn (http://www.palmyria.co.uk/humour/ipu.htm) (blessed be her holy hooves). Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? I saw that you're emailing Paypal about her screwing you over with your subscription. I encourage you to keep trying because, heaven knows, someone needs to knock her down a few pegs. Especially after she changed her disclaimer to read that everyone "donates to help her site step foward" instead of subscribing in order to get member privileges. Now I may be wrong about this, but aren't donations usually any amount you can afford, and not a set monthly amount? Maybe she needs to brush up on her English skills.
Heh, someone just invaded Deviant Art lately, going by the name of Peggy from China. Art looks a little familiar, too (kind of same style as some of the blinky crap from the site). Wonder if it's the same person. http://peggyly.deviantart.com/ Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? She speaks english competently and there is no blinky/garish crap in her work or on her page. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? And Peggy isn't an uncommon name. missangelica beat me to it, but the drawings are not badly done. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: mando on 2007 June 25, 22:20:30 Yep, I doubt they are the same person. Anime/Manga style art is very popular, so two people, both with the same fairly common name, drawing in that style is not a huge shock. Plus, I would think that in her bio that she would mention that she creates work for the Sims 2 (especially considering that PeggySims' Peggy is likely doing it as a job at the moment).
Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: keirra on 2007 June 25, 22:34:49 I agree. If it was the same Peggy, she would definitely want to advertise her business.

Paysite people are funny. Title: Is this new, or I am just slow? (Peggy) Post by: Mnemosyne on 2007 July 04, 07:32:15 You all were discussing that hideous "Jessica" pay hair a few days back and I gotta tell ya....it's hideous. It's pulled back so far off the forehead to make my sims look retarded. And the bald spot in front..gives me the heebie-jeebies. After downloading and checking out MOST of her pay hair in-game..gah I'd be royally pissed if I had paid for that crap. There's so many things wrong with them, so many gaps, holes, etc.
Someone needs to drop the bomb because she's pissing me off! |
