Thank you to everyone who participated in this showcase. We understand that many submissions contained pieces of custom content that were created by other Simmers. This custom content is greatly appreciated and we thank our Simmers for providing such wonderful creations.

Hahaha they're not stupid, that must be how they feel about the subject of uploading other people's stuff.  After all as far as EA are concerned they own the copyright of it so they're entitled to accept and publish it.

What I read is: Thanks simmers who made the stuff in the video.

Not: Thanks simmers who ripped off the stuff from other simmers and used it in the video.

But maybe it's just me  :D

Down the bottom is the major disclaimer - and there's an xmsims hair in there, as well as objects in the lots by others.

Pretty sure it means (very loosely translated from Maxodian):
Tanks to all you who has broken copyrights, and we do hope you'll continue to do it. They look very pretty on your sims/lots.  :P

I read this as : We don't give a frack if your crap is free or pay. We own the copy right but we are thanking you for making it :) Now we are going to share it with everybody. Thanks :D

I would love to see the pay site owner with the balls to give them shit for allowing their objects to be shared on the exchange.  :lol:

It might have happened already, but we'll never know because the site owners would be too embarrassed that they didn't have any power over Maxis.  They'll probably post something on their sites like "please don't download from the exchange, they took our stuff illegally and it's wrong."  :P

The slight problem this gives the federation is that we now cannot list any site that links to the official EA site...  :?

That's pretty hilarious and awesome. It does look like maybe Maxis/EA is subtley expressing how they feel about this whole copyright issue.
