I was browsing through TSR today and saw in one of the Select Artists blog, they have just opened a new site, and yes, it's pay. She goes by clcny20 at TSR.

I looked through the site and I am not impressed. The navigation sucks and the members section preview asks me for a name and password.. The PREVIEWS! So, I guess you have to sign up before even previewing the Members Section.

Edited to add that reading her About Me page at TSR, she also has a website charging people for tarot readings. Hmmm...

Needless to say she isnt getting any of my money for either ripoffs she's doing.

If people are ballsy enough to charge for pixels, they are apparently ballsy enough to open as a paysite. That's pretty much admitting that the money is solely an ego stroke, not for bandwidth.

lol the free downloads button doesn't even work.

in order to see the free page you have to read her faq page, once you get the link to it, you get a working link to the member preview page which has no working images.
And i feel bad for new downloaders or at least newbie-ish ones coming from tsr to her site and having to go through the incredibly shitty navigation she's got going on. Poor little lambs will get lost pretty quickly
If her pay things are the same quality as her free shit, i dont think its even worth being put into the booty

As for the site itself.. ugh, I thought they couldn't get worse than cardrew but they prove me wrong!  The free stuff makes Atwa's crapola look good.  It took going to the member preview to even be able to click on the free stuff button.  And yeah, I'm getting the log in pop up as well. The member preview pictures are broken too.

I read her blog a few days ago, and today is the 1st day the site was opened, and she had said many times in previous blogs, she didn't want to open it yet, because it wasn't all finished, and she didn't want ppl msging her about when this or that would be done. But despite that fact she said in the last blog I read, that she has decided to open it now, because so many ppl keep asking her when it will be done, and she's been talking about it for months now. So that's probaly why none of the stuff is working properly.

Some of her things at TSR aren't that horrible, but idk whats up with those pictures in this thread lol, she must be putting all the horrific things for free, so you want the pay stuff even more. She did say though, that she would never make anyone pay for the maxis recolors, only her own meshes, and mesh recolors. Maxis clothes are very bleh anyways, without someone adding those horrible colors to them lol.  :oops:

That's what I was thinking when I first read her name on this thread!   Out of curiosity I had to find her on tsr and lordy, the woman has over 2,000 clothing for just women!  (Given a lot of those are just recolors of one outfit but..)

Get this.  A friend of mine, who actually likes paysites, decided to join because she liked this girl's stuff on TSR. And you know what she told me? That the Members Section has no downloads whatsoever. She said there is not one and only a few in the free section.

She actually has some things in the members section, it is just a matter of suffering through an excess of messy navigation to get to the crap. She has quite a few things in her member section, just got to know how to get to them i guess. I was looking thru it from the link someone posted in this thread. like say you click member section, it takes you to a new screen with new options on the panel. then click clothes, then gender, then age, then category, ect. like that. not the best way to set it all up but w/e lol. kinda pointless that it will keep takin you to new screens makin you think youve finally gotten to a page when you actually have to click 10 more times. some of the meshes arent so bad, i liked the one toddler boy mesh, but thats my opinion lol.  :oops: other ones though were not that great, and her recolors of maxis meshes are a little extreme  :shock:

This site is now free, if anyone is interested. I looked through everything and found maybe two or three things I would download. Nothing great here, free or not.

I had plan not to post in this section again after Ydwk since I figured it was only so many ways you could tell me I messed up but I guess there’s more ways then I thought.

Paden dear, I did indeed go back and read the FAQ. It stated what STFU stands for but would you be so kind as to define the others you used? And reading the FAQ first is like reading the instruction first on how to put together a TV stand. After you put it together and see the screws left over then you go back and read the instructions to see where you messed up. Oh and I did apologize, I said I was sorry and that next time I would just have to read the date of the last post before I post again. I joined up the 25 today is the 26. I have posted 4 or 5 times now. All a response to this one section. I wanted to get to know new people and it sure did happen fast. The FAQ said “While newbies are not forbidden from discussing things that have already been discussed…unless “Is what I'm about to say needed or necessary?”  I didn’t know it was not necessary at the time. Now I know. Because I am new your constructive criticism is very helpful, Thank you. Next time I won’t be able to use the ‘I didn’t know’ excuse. It also said “But we stand by our beliefs, will fight to the death to defend our own, enjoy great debate and discussion, and oh, the RUM! punie, a little bit of advice.  The folks a this stage in the game are starting to get their claws out, so I would strongly recommend you take the following actions.

1.  Stop posting in this thread.  We don't like it when peoplez raise the dead round her, nkay?
2.  Lay low and lurk a little.  At least until this dies down a little.
3.  When you do decided to return from lurking, post only if you have something intelligent to say in a thread that has been posted in recently.  (As in the last day or so.)
