Apparently, Jirka decided to bring Glance Models back. I went on a downloading spree last night, and got all the skintones of the MOTMs. Could this mean he might be considering leaving TSR?  :o

(Or, at the very least, he's taking another step away from it.)

 his work is much better showcased there than on tsr, it's good that he's taking a step in the right direction. lets hope he leaves the restrictive ties and awful reputation of tsr and gives his work the chance it deserves on a legitimate website.

i dont know why everyone (not just here) keeps saying they cant get the site to load, it loads up for me within about 30 seconds or so
I think flash isnt the best way to go considering how un-userfriendly it is, but it keeps people from hotlinking or stealing images. Jirka himself doesnt design the site or do any of the technical stuff, a guy named "Adam" does according to the site info page. So I am guessing one of them thinks it looks cool and who cares if its difficult for the visitors to load/navigate

I couldn't get it to load for 30 minutes in IE, but it took seconds in Firefox.  That might be the problem.

for me it's perfect to load that site and i like the navigation. i've seen worse

I've got IE and it works perfectly for me. The navigation is good too; I'd love my site to be that easy.


However, after looking at 6 different models and seeing the exact same face staring back at me, I can't understand why I ever wanted to see that site in the first place. And Kate Moss looks nothing like Kate Moss.
You may say I've no experience in creating anything. I don't mind. I'm just not following this JirkaGlance Models obsession. I think I'll stick with creating models myself.

Download the models with highlighted-brown links. Those are the past MOTMs, and the quality is usually better.

I just download for the skintones, anyway.

I believe they are non-anatomically correct. :( I had a few skins from Jirka that had nippys but I lost them. :( Someone asked on adult InSIM if his skins could be edited and posted but someone else said that Jirka only allowed it for personal use. :( So sad cuz his skins are wonderful.

I'm glad to see his site is back. I don't really use other peoples sims in my game but I do love the skintones.

Skintones, I highly doubt it, but it might be used for genetics and makeup.

Aren't his skintones supposed to be shit because they've got the models' faces on them? Don't they look awful if you try to re-age them, or put the pictures on a different model with a differently shaped face?

...Adding to that the fact they are edited only for adult female. At least from my brief experience. Thank the gods I didn't try to breed the sims. I suppose they are good for watching ...and uhh ...taking pictures..? O_o

Not all of them have faces on them. I've used them before on other models and they look great. Maybe I just haven't downloaded a bad one yet. The face masks however - avoid like the plague! :D

The newer ones are edited for all ages, mostly because people whined and whined.lol I didn't keep the old files for precisely that reason; I can't stand skintones which aren't made for all ages, or only for males/females, like SOME creators like to do. (to me they're only halfway done then, and there are enough quality ones around not to settle for unfinished products) because apart from my site models I actually play my sims.
About the skintones, some look very odd on males and younger ages, but some are quite pretty; I use them at times. However, Enayla's are still the best out there, IMO.

I've never had a problem with aging on jirka's sims, I use them a lot, they look good old and in child form  :D

Maybe I deserve to get shot then, because I loathe Enayla's skins. Possibly even more than I loathe Jirka's sims. I also loathe Ren's skintones. I dunno why. I swear by Allan Akbar.

Maybe he realises that TSR isnt paying him much and is 'threatening' them with opening a new site?

I dont think Glance has much to do with Jirka's stuff at TSR. He said celebrities would be at TSR but models would be free from Glance.

Allan Akbar's skins are cool for people into maxis like genetics. They usually dislike realistic skins. Which is ok; fortunately both exist.

Np. I remember his name from a WCIF on S2C...they're basically maxis skins with adult details...I had something similar from ParadiseSims before I discovered the wonderful world of MTS... 8)

Like I've mentioned before, the links highlighted in brown are far better than the rest (especially since he made it available for all ages).

I edit those skintones before I use them with my sims - they always got eyebrows on the skin, so I have to remove them .... that sucks  :?

... i already have edited about 10 of them for my personal use

1. The skins have eyebrows on them

2. The skins look like normal for male skintones

3. The models look totally distorted when male, their kids look fug as toddlers.



Shame because I like his stuff from what I see.

Urgh, the Glance folk need to learn that while their flash page might be pretty it takes a long time to load anything and is very un user-friendly. But they can get away with it cos people are all OMGZZZITSAGLANCESKINTONE.

the site imitates designer sites such as Dolce&Gabbana, Versace etc.
if you've never been on such a site, then go google one and only then you can say something about GLANCE - compared to those sites it's very user friendly, you won't believe

I must be the only person on the planet who is not at all impressed with this style sim. I hate the skintone/facemask with a real person's face pasted on, and I absolutely hate the whole concept of having those freaky ass models in my game.

Yet so many sites insist on using those sims to model their clothes. It is enough to make me not want to download their clothes. That, and that stupid "sexy walk" people use for pictures. Ugh.

Sexy Walk can go jump in a lake, for all I care. Especially that one point in it where the Sim's waist contorts. People use it because... why? The waist looks "smallerzomg MUST HAVE THE SKINNY"?

I looked atthe skintones I downloaded from his site in Bodyshop. Out of a little over a half-dozen, I found two or three that might be worth keeping. The rest were too overly-sharpened, or eyelashes/eyebrows-on-the-face-y.

Acutally good replacement skins like the ones from Louis do it for me. I don't need anything else. Plus I can keep the genetics. Same goes for eyes. Useless. Barcelonista's replacements are awesome.

Yeah, that stupid sexy walk show is annoying. Especially since the sexy walk is probably one of the more rigid poses out there, which does nothing to showcase how well the mesh will perform under stress. They should show the sim engaged in more different poses, like, say, doing a Yoga or BLEH!!!ing a Brynne.

Actually, my sims look far better with his skintones (edited in Photoshop to achieve a visibly paler look) than with Ren's default replacements. I think it may have something to do with the fact that his skins make Sims with angled jaws look more beautiful and model-like, while Ren's skins just makes the face look obese.

The sexy walk irritates me to no end, though. Maybe I'll take up Pescado's suggestion and take screenshots while the sims are taking a shit or something.  :lol:

Oh, I don't mind skintones that have a little facial definition to them, Navetsea has some nice face-in ones that make the faces look interestingly detailed, not strangely pasted on. My main beef with those type of skins is that when a celebrity's face is pasted on, it looks like someone skinned the celebrity and are wearing his/her face like a mask.

You're not. I can't stand it, but you know how people are all "OMG TEH MODELZ." I don't think much of them IRL, so why would I want simulated versions?



The "sexy walk" is all kinds of wrong. When creators take pictures of it, I tend to think they're trying to hide some kind of horrible flaw with the clothing and avoid the site entirely.

I checked out her skins. They're quite detailed, so I think I'll try them with a bit of editing.

Hmm. The rest of her skins seem to be hosted on Spicysims, which just happens to be a paysite - which just happens to be hosted on PMBD.  8)

@Allanskins: Yeah, I hate realistic skins. They basically are Maxis skintones with other colours in as well, with adult bits. No shiny or anything. Shiny is bad. And it's alright, I probably wouldn't have understood what I meant if I were you. ^^^ Allanskins are good though.

Precisely. That is why my models will always be engaged in HUMAN poses. Like weeding the garden and watching TV. My sims won't touch a catwalk anyway; that doesn't show you what sims look like IG.

Now I want to open my own 'model agency' just to have all models do the gorilla slouch or that open-mouthed, cross-legged couch potato pose.

Sexywalk is annoying even in the game. I only keep it unhacked because Sims look utterly idiotic doing it, and a little humiliation never does'em wrong.
