Has anyone seen this site?
It reeks of a paysite-to-be-destroyed on so many levels.
To start with, this idiot wants $15.00 per month, or pay per file, and they are charging $1.50 each for a top and bottom. That's right you need to buy them individually. The preview images are all shot in the dark on some very unattractive models and it still doesn't make the clothes look any better.

If the fugly clothes aren't enough, they are also using other peoples creations as bases without credit.


Who would pay $15.00 per month for stuff that looks like crap, and is copied from other sites including Boutique Emile, and then uglified?
I would normally subsrcibe, download the site and then shove it in their face that its being shared, but I don't think anyone would even want this...
They even have a sale section where you can get really crappy crap for $4.00.

I wrote an email to let him know that I thought his site sucked. Feel free to join in and laugh at this crap site.

Emilie got in her butt about the stealing, and had the thread deleted. when she first opened her site she had something up about people giving her feedback for her site since it was brand new and she was new to this, so I emailed her and gave her some suggestions about the use of dark purple font and black background (like anyone could read it) and various other things all i got for a response was "thanks, the site is still a work in progress check it out again" then the next time I checked out the site (like 2 weeks later i think) it was a pay site and she was emailing me her updates along with anybody else who has ever emailed her (like i needed to know she added one outfit this week and then get to her site to see the pic is too dark to tell what it looks like but its $3 to download it lol)
So I emailed her after getting several of those updates ("no ones visiting or buying anything! please buy something!")

Of course I was trying to be nice and make suggestions for improvement, not trying to attack her (I'm sure people could say the same bad things about the stuff I make lol but then again my site is entirely free and we've gotten enough voluntary donations to pay for almost a whole year of hosting lol)....Her response:

Thankfully she stopped filling up my inbox with her "updates", unfortunately I think she lied about the other part...even if she is paying them for hosting, their most expensive hosting plan is $15 a month (the same price as her monthly subscription fee for her site) and none of her domains would have "netfirms" in the url, yet all of them do.

Actually I just did watch it and now I think I'm afraid to go to sleep.  The walk (if you can call it that )on the models reminded me of the girl from The Ring.  It was just creepy and wrong.

A lot of creators that do the fashion thing, whether in videos or in pictures, love to use the "sexy walk" when showcasing their stuff.

Whenever I see the 'sexy walk' being used to show off clothing and whatnot, I get the impression that the poor sims are in competition to see who can twist their torso all the way around. It annoys me. It's really not sexy at all.

I don't know why that animation is in the game to begin with--it's ugly.  Apparently it's only for romance Sims that are doing happily with their aspiration, but people have been abusing the hell out of the game's animations--sometimes for nice things, sometimes... not.

The "I look at my ass" was an animation for female teens only. It looks dumb when adults do it. :roll:

I'm pretty sure the fashion show thing was started by The Chamber, his were done much better too, fake little audience and everything. I don't recall seeing the sexy walk everywhere until maybe Emilie and Sera started using it for their previews. i wish sims could trip while doing that, it would serve them right >.<

That amuses me. The falling down. I kept hoping it would happen when I watched that fashion show. I lul'd when two models almost walked into each other though...

What bugs/amuses me  - except for everything that has already been mentioned - is how the animations in her Fashion Show From Hell so not blend together:

The model walks her way to the end of the podium. Carla Niven decides to use some pose from Squinge's "Hula&More" hack. What happens? Model jumps -in about a nano second - to that position, stays like frozen  for a while, then jumps back to normal sim animation.

And it looks like shit.

I finally watched the damn thing, and I'm going to assume that it cannot possibly be my machine at fault for the seriously shitty moments of graphic degradation, nor when time seems to randomly slow down or speed up.

I think it's too adorable for words that I kept hearing someone waving a cowbell around as these girls were sashaying down the runway looking 'too sexy for my audience' (which must be true, since they were all on about babies, magic, and bladder desperation).  If those hips were swinging any more violently someone might have lost an eye.

I also thought it was very cute that one of the models was so shy that she barely made it onto the runway before looking like she was about to piss and subsequently scampering off backstage again.  And what was with those bits with the Fier name scrolling by and whatnot, totally obscuring the actual clothing?

Was Carla so ashamed of those outfits that she had to hide them from view?  Was the misdirected spotlight on purpose, or just a shoddy mistake?  (Personally, I think the general lack of lighting says quite a bit about her own feelings on the collection.  She thinks it sucks, too.)

At any rate... Bravo!  I shall have to spork myself most violently if we don't see another of these enthralling shows soon.

I'm pretty sure the effects were to hide the fugly.  There was one outfit that almost the entire walk was put under some sort of shitass blur filter or some business like that.  I'm pretty sure that means that this particular outfit has shit textures.  

I say that like the rest of her stuff isn't pasted with shit textures.

What's really horrible is I know next to nothing about textures.  I meshed out a full kitchen with wine glasses and the whole bit for an autocad class once, but the textures available for it were for crap, and I couldn't do any better on my own.

Gah! I watched the fashion show earlier. Got about halfway through, decided I've better things to waste my time on. It cracked me up how totally disinterested the "audience" was. My sympathies go out to the old Sim who got up in the middle of the show because he had to pee.

I finally went back and watched the show. It was fantastic. Absolutely useless for selling sim clothes, but for pure entertainment Carla scores. I actually liked the special effects, especially the b&w ones as they hid all those lurid colours for a while. I also love the way the outfits look like they are dresses when they are actually jumpsuits. Brilliant!
To all you people who don't know what the FIER means. Carla is creative in all things and can spell words however she wants too. You're just jealous that she was able to contract all the best models and you had to use your own sims.

Golly, a sneeze fetish. My sister would be highly prized by these people. It's not that she sneezes al the time, but she has enough allergies to make it reasonably frequent, it's mostly that she isn't capable of sneezing less than 10 times in a row, and it's usually more. She just keeps going. We usually just wait for a few minutes and just say one "bless you" at the end.

Not all sites do, Bines (like alot of other find/update sites) goes around looking for stuff to feature, but there are new sites or horrible sites that want to be featured up there so they send her the updates.
She frequently shows things from mts2/tsr that she likes...look at those and you'll be able to see what kind of taste she has (which will show you which sites send her updates and which ones she goes to on her own looking for new downloads)
Either that or people on her site point out the new updates to her and she puts them up there...i think its a combination of people sending her the updates all the time (like Carla shoving them up my ass trying to get me to go there and pay her lol), other people pointing out new updates to her, and her coming across new downloads on her own.
I check her finds every day though, it saves time lol

It's better than her normal crap, but it still isn't good quality. Top part of it is fairly nice, the skirt remains icky and looks weird and bunched around her thighs...and the shoes still look like they were made in MS paint.

Not that I personally can do any better, but there's that eternal thing about me not CHARGING people for anything I do.

Couple that with the way he/she/it responds to any kind of constructive criticism, and the bizarre fantasy world OF famous designer and ex wife of rock star Wolf Graza, Carla Niven, there's plenty of space for fun poking without guilt there.

As for the sharpening, a lot of people actually just sharpen their previews. ;) To make people go like ZOMG so detailed and prettyful!!111oneoneone although if you overdo it (as in many cases) it just looks...fake. Plain and simple. If you know anything about Photoshop you know to expect a far less sharp and detailed item in game. Sadly, there are lots of those who don't see it (and then creators blame it on "low end graphics cards")

That site is free, and should thus be OUTSIDE the relm of stick poking.  Also, I link to that site because the content is actually quite good.  She just photoshops her images to hell @.@  I e-mailed her about it and she told me that she is making new images for everything.  

I don't agree that her work is worse than Carla Niven, the only thing that makes Carla a target HERE is that she attempts to charge for what she makes... which is subpar at best.

Unfortunately, when Carla Niven first came out (I had no IDEA it was a paysite) I asked to be invited to the opening Fashion Show. IT REEKED.

Unfortunately I can't share the link, but take it from me: There were plumbobs and speech bubbles and all the transitions and stuff were choppy. Then I thought okay, there was like ONE outfit I thought was okay-ish. I might as well be supportive, right? Then I clicked on the outfit... And it was Pay. My mouth literally dropped open. I never thought I'd have to see Carla Niven again...

Then he/she/it kept sending me these stupid update emails. I got SO sick of seeing these butt-ugly outfits in my email. And they just KEPT COMING! I decided to just ignore them, but yay! They ended on Oct. 30. Thank goodness.

The top is not bad, but I can't tell what's going on from the waist down.

it's supposed to be alpha, but why one leg is black is beyond me.  Also why the alpha starts drastically at the crotch instead of mid-hip is also a... unique... choice.

As for the top, well, it's very much in "its" style.

There is a funny looking black dot on her Right knee, i cant tell if the left leg is just shadowed or screwed up?
the shirt around the collar looks blended in with her chest and why oh why does it look like she is trying to hold in her ass with her dress?

The alpha mesh is obviously faulty or else something really weird happened to her graphics in game. I actually like the bottom better than the top (if you ignore the weird shadings etc) the neckline looks as if chopped with the Photoshop eraser brush (which probably was the case  :P ) instead of it having a smooth, realistic curve, and the texture on both shoulders is pixelated and...strange too.

The weird effects are what happen when you put an alpha mesh against the reflective floor tiles at most angles.

Ahh, and children, that is why you should never mix your drinks.

No-ones mentioned the funky lipstick.

What is WITH that lipstick/lipgloss/paint smear?

The Lip paint looks like it was painted on by someone with an Epileptic Seizure,
or at the least someone busted a ahem on them :shock:

the hair in the back looks funny with her ears sticking out,

the skintone looks like one that was someone elses creation but i cannot put my finger on who's?

Oh and one more thing which is slightly off the wall for a sim,

that lipstick is a helaene lipstick (I think), and it's one of my favorites in game.  Problem is (as everyone has mentioned) it's little kid pink and the dress is big girl red.  Maybe "it" was going for shock value?

Nope. Peggy. Helaene's are always natural. Peggy likes to do neon colours. I used to use it a lot for my young, funkier sims.

Peggys lipsticks always looked crazy on my sims.  I never used any of them.   @.@  They were always BRIGHT NEON PINK and had stupid white "gloss" marks that never looked right. :roll:  I thought this was the heleane lipgloss that is kind of translucent towards the edges.   Its still a rather naturalistic pink for peggy ;)

Well, it's by Juice, but that's kinda the same thing. I used to use Peggy's stuff a lot back before Helaene really started cranking out the sims makeup. That was actually one of my favorite lipsticks to use. I liked the heart-ish shape it gave the sims' lips.



All this "it" usage is kinda creeping me out. It reminds me too much of Silence of the Lambs. That movie was brilliant, but oh so creepy.

You know, in real life she could *never* make 10 paces without those pants falling right off, not to speak of sitting down.... :?  God, for once the textures look somewhat better and it's the concept that it's completely screwed up...and the jewelry, ergh, looks like something kids buy at carnivals.

I'm not completely sure about that - I've seen a woman wearing pants very nearly that low. However, it was in California and the woman had 'for sale' written all over her, so, yeah.

So, the pants were made for easy removal  :P  But really, try going down the street in a normal situation or sitting in an office chair. My lowest pair of pants is definitely not as low as that and I still have to be careful.

Oh, I know, I was just saying. XD I saw plenty of thongs hanging out when I was in California... blech. My jeans stay around my hips, thankyouverymuch. *g*

They don't need to be that low for easy removal, by the looks of things, the zip goes almost all the way back anyway...

That said, the textures on that outfit, if you exclude the jewellery and shoes (which I'm SURE I have a Barbie sized pair of), aren't too horrifically mangled, for once. Not lovely, but not gouge-your-eyes out patchy.

I like the shoes actually. Plastic pumps in neon colours were big for a while.

Since I'm not rich enough to change my wardrobe every time the trends change, I never got a pair. But I really wanted one.

Totally off topic, did you know those shoes are my most "stolen" creation ever? I see them everywhere, most often with people claiming they made the whole thing all by themselves, no touching! But I know the truth! They are miiiine...and I used part of a peggy alpha to figure out where to put the straps.
