hey Im Chris the owner of Divino Sims 2.really Im surprised that people like my work I still am.but either way theres always this hassle about pay sites.honestly I wouldnt make my site a pay site because I have a Job and really using a site to make a profit now thats just pathetic.also I work really hard on some of my meshes to make sure they work properly and its nice to get feed back from those who download them.so if I have no choice but to close down my site,Ill upload on free sites like Sappire Sims.

If your site is free, and always has been free.  Then you are safe.

This site is not targeting anyone with a free site.

This site is to help with the bandwidth charge of those who feel it necessary to charge people to download their content, if you aren't  charging, then you shouldn't feel threatened.

*kicks PirateBooty's behind* The site is free, he's not making money out of anything(or wasting yours), and the dude is still learning new tricks to make nice stuff. You have to admit his bodyshapes are cool. So is the themed stuff from different ages.

I was going to PM piratebooty and congradulate him on telling you off, but I decided if I had something to say, I may as well say it to everyone.  

He is right.  If you were pay or part pay, your site would be laughed at and torn apart like Carla and Sugary Sims.  And the reason is because your stuff isn't that good.  Don't get defensive, just take it with a grain of salt.  The basic truth is, there arn't many sites that are pay that can't be torn apart.  There is always something that someone doesn't like.  

My second issue with this post is that
1.  it's your first post.
2.  You're basically advertising your site in this forum.  By creating a whole new thread, devoted to YOU, and bragging about you doing something that everyone here believes is something you're supposed to do.  
Definatly not what this place is about.  Do you see an "advertise your site here!"  thread?  NO?!  Then don't do it.  That is what the FFSS is for, go brag there.

He may have said it in a way that wasn't very nice, but that doesn't make what he said any less true.  Although I kind of like that goofy looking head explosion hair mesh.  In the same way that I think pugs and english bulldogs are cute. :D

I agree. And I feel like I'm wearing a corset every time I look at one of his female meshes. Plus the texturing isn't that amazing. Someone did recolours on MTS2 which I like, though. But that's IT.

PirateBooty was harsh, but she (right?) had a point.  If Divino had been under fire here for something and came on to defend himself (a la Miguel and Vivi on the SE thread), that would be one thing.  But I had never even heard of his site before.  Dour's right - this is blatant advertising.

If you really need to introduce yourself, use the official thank-you thread (find it yourself it's a sticky) then be a smart pirate and read before drawing too much attention to yourself. I've been here a while and I read way more than I post. Except for a couple of pages of the OpenlegsJack thread *shudder* (and a couple of threads that were deleted before I joined), I've read every damn post on this site.
The tone has changed somewhat over the last month. I think some of the MATYers are around less and there are more friendly pirates but if you can't cope with being on the sharp end of a pointy stick, don't post.

"We" aren't against it.  But that's not what this phorum is about, is it?  Advertise on sheep-tastic sites like S2C, or post at "finds" or update sites, or whatever.  This isn't the place for advertising.

I think it was an outfit thread, there was this afro hairstyle on the sims -  honestly it looked like something you could do with the spraypaint feature in MSPaint and people were asking about downloading the hair. She freaked out about it in the thread and attacked/put down/insulted/was generally rude to the people asking.

I was only bitching because you were advertising your site.  And my defenses of Piratebooty were purely that.. Defenses.  had nothing to do with you other than the fact that piratebooty was talking about your stuff.

I'd been to divino sims before this thread.  Also, someone once posted a thread here asking where the exploding head of hair was located.  People had seen his/her stuff before, but no one knew who made it.

I want to clarify, since I feel like I fueled the fire here, that I don't hate Divino, or the site, or the clothes.  I just got pissed that she/he was blatantly advertising DivinoSims.  And I wanted to defend Piratebooty to those of you who went "*gasp!*  TOO MEAN!  Don't be mean to free sites!"

I would have agreed, that freesite bashing is no good, if someone OTHER than Divino had posted the thread.

well, i understand what you're saying, dour but i disagree. if a site sucks then it sucks. constructive criticism is always best but no one should have to hold their tongue even if it is a freesite. creators should be told when something they make is awful. how can they ever learn?

I just think that freesite bashing maybe belongs on another forum?  I'm not shy, there are PLENTY of free sites that suck, but they arn't under the dilusion that that crappy stuff is worth paying for.  So they should be outside our reach in THIS forum.

I don't hate Divino Sims at all. In fact, I've used a mesh from that site to make a quite lovely dress, if I do say so myself. Not everything is to my taste (explody hair scares me), but it is by no means terrible.

I think explody hair was part of that ultra creepy couture thing that was so popular for awhile. Lots of scary runway makeup and hair, impossible clothes. Haute couture it may be, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Blue?  :?  What would be the point in that? I'm going to colour it the colour of HEAD EXPLODY, which is the could of blood and braind and bone propelling themselves outwards at high speed.

Well, more or less. I still haven't looked at the texture to see how many pieces I'll have to play with. Might have to just suggest a lot of the gore rather than paint it in in loving detail.

The hair mesh loses at being hair, but it wins times a million for having a useful reapplication!
