Well, she was fired because her and Delphy were having it out in IRC one night, over something that happened on S2C.  Anyhow, he was super-pissed and he told her if she left IRC before they were done, she was fired.

Then she left, so she was fired.

We ate her. She didn't taste so good, though.

I'm pretty sure she didn't get paid - none of the other mods do.

I'm not sure the exact story she gives, but she somehow spins her firing (I don't think she says she was fired, even) into some sob story about how the rest of the staff were evil backstabbers who got rid of her so they could have her job (I haven't seen another admin being made, guess her job wasn't needed anyway!) except nengi and her brown tongue, of course.

Thank God because Lyric became a heartless bitch!

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat.... its a chatroom type thing. MTS2 and S2C share a chatroom that you can access from those two pages... basically its a very large drama pit... (thats why i like it! its funny)

They're mods, not admins - big difference.

Well she was let go as well, not too long after Lyric.  I believe she's followed Lyric to exnems site.  I really love her houses.

Well now :) This may just be juicy rumor. but I heard, from several unrelated sources back a year or so ago, that 'some admins/mods' do indeed get 'paid' by Delphy to the tune of several hundred dollars --500 ok I heard 500 dollars!! ...like TKD was said to have gotten 'paid' frequently :) ....Supporters money no doubt....

Rumours maybe started by someone who wanted to cause trouble there. I dont think moderator position should be paid. Remember Delphy and all have enemmies that will say nasty things that they cant substantiate just to cause trouble. I saw a good example yesterday of that.

Nengi left on her own. just because people are no longer mods doesn't mean they were fired... so stop assuming...

I have no idea of the MTS2 arrangements for paying staff, but I would totally disapprove, on the grounds that there are almost certainly plenty of people who would be willing to do it just for the pleasure of being involved with the site, and it is therefore not a necessary outgoing from the donations.

I do so love the rumours that fly around in this community. :)

Whoever said the staff gets paid (to the tune of $500 no less!) was talking out thier hat.  We all do it for the site and not for any kind of financial renumeration.

I have never paid any of my staff anything, but since we are friends we have done the usual things like send pop tarts or small things like that to each other, completely not connected with the site at all. Maybe that counts? ;)  Or maybe they mean "paid" in thanks and hugs over MSN or something...

I am perfectly aware of the spin that Lyric puts on the whole affair.  The fact that the rest of the staff basically where sick of the drama and decided to instead concentrate on making the site better and run without her somehow translated into "backstabbing" and "voting off the island".

Also, I would like to point out that being made an op on IRC does not in any way make you a staff member of MTS2. Please don't confuse the two. :) I have brought people on on MTS2 but as moderators to help with the site.  I have not made anybody an admin since there is really no need for another one.

With that said, Lyric did do a lot of work, and although we might have our differences, I do wish her all the best of luck in whatever new position she is in now.

She's got her own site (asfaik) It's in her sig at MTS2. I check there periodically. Her houses really are beautiful. I've found them unwieldy for my own play style however and had to drastically change many things, so now I just love to look at them for ideas for my own houses :)

'paid' has a lot of room for interpertation. What I heard was that Delphy sent money to some of his girls (call it pay or money to tide one over or whatever same difference.) I heard this from one girl he sent it to.....nasty lie? Maybe and maybe not.

You are lucky, Delphy, that those rumors involve only something about money; I run a MUD and I'm amazed on how much hate this hobby may rise!
According to players (expecially those incidentally involved in bans or something), I've had slept with almost the whole admins/moderators population.
A player, who I had to punish for breaking rules, told me that he knows where I live, and will broke my backbone with a steel bar someday.

I don't know who said what but I wouldn't trust the likes of LyricLee, Pooja, Blackkat13 etc as far as I could throw them.

A good thumb rule to detect rumors might be asking the rumorer about "Who, When and Where".
If any of these can't or won't be answered, then it's probably Real Bullshit™

'course, he's my boyfriend, and he needed it to make rent money for that month, but hey, technically I sent him money which is kind of maybe paying him, gasp!

roflmao!  staff at these sites dont need to be paid to be mods or admin.  they have the fun of being tyrants and dictators!  

the admin and mods at insim are just as bad as lyriclee used to be at mts2.  their job description is this:  delete this post, ban that fool and say whatever you want but make sure no one else can.  they dont even treat the people who have donated money to their free sites with any respect or gratitude.

lyriclee pissed me off enough.  nothing like getting a warning for something as stupid as posting in the wrong section.  do your job bitch and just move the post!  ive seen lyriclee at insim.  she has sucked up to kathy and posted a few things.

these fuckers all know each other and stab each others backs as soon as look at them and call them cute names like doll or babes.  i think its funny.

If you really want to go down to brass tacks, then yes, I've given my friends gifts or presents and some of them happened to be staff members, but whatever I did give was in no way connected with the site itself - and I've given gifts to people who also aren't on any sites but who were still friends.  I don't really consider giving a friend a gift with my own money "paying" them - would you?

It's interesting to note that the people that are probably spreading that rumour are the ones that are no longer involved with MTS2.  It's basically taking something as personal and private as a gift and turning it into some kind of ammunition they can use against me for whatever reasons.

Also, Marhis, I know that feeling - I think there have been rumours that I've slept with pretty much all the staff at this point.  Didn't you know that you just need boobie or panty pics to become a staff member anyway? :P

In all seriousness we have strict staff recruitment policies at MTS2 now, so it's not just up to me - all the current staff have to agree with any new people on board, and often they are recommended only by other people on the staff who feel a person would be an asset to the site as a whole - and in a lot of those cases I have never even talked to the people specifically, so it's more like a republic than anything else.

Of course, what happens internally now and what people think happens can be two completely different circumstances as we've seen, and especially on a site as large and as well known as MTS2 where people have come and gone, the rumour mill always seems to be working overtime.

That'd what I've been wondering about aswell.  :roll:

Even if it was true that the staff had been "paid", it's no-one's business. It is not against the EA tos to pay someone for their time on a personal forum. Even non-profit, non business organisations can renumerate their staff.

The only time I've had a regular call other people pet names on a game forum I moderated for years (in this case, it was "dear"), it turned out the person was a 25-27 year-old guy masquerading as a 18 year-old girl for the purposes of, er, "roleplaying" a husband/wife relationship with a 15-17 year-old boy (because it happened over the course of 2 years before we worked out what was going on), including the whole private IRL-type cybersex shebang (not at the forum, we have a private adults-only for that sort of roleplay). Needless to say, the boy was rather messed up by the whole thing (he was young & silly enough to "fall" for the bastard for real).

So, I'm always really creeped out when someone I don't know online calls me anything pet-ish.
