Carla Niven's site seems to have gotten slightly better in the last couple of days.

Wanna know why?

Because s/h/it has stolen the work of Rat Productions, a free clothing site in the community.

If you check out Rat Productions' (http://www.rat-productions.net/) website, go to Female >>Swimwear.  It's the first pic of the first page.  Seen it?  Good.

Now go to Carla Niven's (http://www.carlaniven.netfirms.com/page%202.htm) website.  See the blown-up outfit on the right?

Well, even if s/h/it didn't steal it directly from Rat Productions, it's still the same damn thing.  And why would anyone pay for something they can get for free (which is basically our fucking motto here).

I think shit is an appropriate name for her and her stuff. She is a piece of thieving shit.

Someone should point that out to Rat Productions.

I can't get either of those pages to load for me..  But I have seen outfits on other sites that used the same source images as me.  Just Sims 2 has 2 outfits that are identical to things on my site.  I didn't steal it from them and I highly doubt they stole it from me.  Or even know my site exists for that matter.  

I think I also saw one of my sources at Holy Simoly.  But it was on a different mesh, they had saturated the color, and almost nothing was similar except I recognized the dress.  But I didn't steal the dress from them and I know they didn't steal it from me.  It could be Carlew is so far in its own world that it doesn't visit other sites often enough to know that that outfit had already been made.

That said:  Yes, why on earth would you offer something for $2 when someone could go to a much more popular site and get it for free.  The answer:  
1.  you are crazy.
2.  you didn't know.

I'm inclined to believe a mixture of both.

I am looking at the images and if you look at the tie behind the neck, they are identical.  I don't care how careful you are... that is uncanny and impossible.   I am looking for anything that is different but even the shoes are identical.

Only in the technical sense. It wasn't intended to deceive, because that texture really is on the model and it's not hiding any flaws.
It was just flipped it for...who knows what reason. Probably s/h/it thought it looked nicer in the preview that way.

But it adds nothing except insanity. It confuses me why people randomly flip images--I think Seomi does it with her hair, and it always makes me go, "which side is it on??" I don't deal well with confusion--just tell me straight, dammit! ^^

It is so obvious that s/h/it stole it.  The print in the fabric is exactly the same and in the exact same places on the garment.  Since s/h/it does not have any problem stealing and uploading, maybe someone should upload s/h/it's stuff to the exchange and claim all of it.  Justice!

Wow. That's actually disgraceful. The more I think about it, the worse it is. Because it's definitely the exact same thing, I studied the pics at length, as Dour said, the tie on the back of the neck is identical, and every detail of the pattern is the same. And stealing someone else's work and passing it off as your own is bad enough, but then charging for it too...the Niven has been upgraded in my mind from Ultimate Shitty Paysite Moron, to actual full-blown Bad Person...

The design is based off the 1940s pinup models.  The idea it to make your foot look as small as possible.  Since americans never caught onto the whole "footbinding" craze... this is an alternative.  I guarantee they wern't made for walking :)  I hear they compliment males ears ;)

I was just looking at the site and i clicked on links. Well it seems that the sites under links can't tell the difference between fugly and sim worthy items. I mean if i was those sites i wouldn't wanna be affiliated with her. well, I didn't notice the peggy picture before I typed that.  That right arm is part of the peggy pic.  It looked blended but it's not.

My best guess:
The Peggy texture was done on a teen mesh, but Carl wanted to stick it on this adult dress mesh. The texture was either too small period, or the sleeve-cap arm ran off the side of the adult mesh. Using CarlaNiven Logic, she just flipped the entire "good" side of the texture instead of simply fixing the sleeve. For some reason, Carl still wanted the dress to only have the chain loops on one side, so she pasted over the other set.
That only made it more obvious that this was a theft, but who can know the mysterious ways in which s/h/it thinks.

I have to agree with Doursim on this one.  I used to get bitched at all the time back in the sims 1 days for using the same textures or designs as other people I've never heard of.  Of course, it turns out my partner really was stealing for his so it makes sense, but still, a lot of creators don't make complete originals.  I can't tell you how many sites I've seen asiajam outfits on lately.

Thats because someone listed asiajam as a resource for images.  I found all my sources through google.  Typing in search category after search category  trying to find a needle in the haystack.  If people arn't willing to do that kind of work, they deserve to have clothing that looks the same as everyone else.

Of course, the real hats off goes to sites like AAS, who do a lovely mix of handpaint and photoskin to make something everyone loves.

Carla wants the body shot to see what custom clothing the model has so s/h/it can steal, and improve (read: sharpen to death) it.

Precisely one of the reasons we hate Carla and TSR so much. You shouldn't be able to make monies out of somebody else's free mesh, nor should you be able to charge for your recolours of somebody else's pay mesh. It means that people have to donate to the other site in order to get the mesh. It's linking, really. Shouldn't be acceptable.
And even if you don't charge for this, it comes back to your other point; why shouldn't you be able to share the pay mesh you bought? After all, you bought it, and nobody's going to download the outfits you made because they'd have to pay to the site you got the mesh from.
