My space I cant remember which media mogul owns it, but I agree it sucks. I have heard bad things about it too. Dont have an account with them personally, never will. I think they will frown upon any type of filesharing promotion, to.

What about a Facebook group? Almost every college student I know has a facebook, and I lot of them play the Sims 2. And it's much, much less sucky than Myspace.

Why not an official PMBD affiliate program so that anyone can make their blog-type-thing a partner?

But wouldn't the point be to get the information out there about paysites regardless of the medium?  Cause there are sim users everywhere and if people are willing to put the effort into doing it, then I would be very much for it :P :D  Just I wouldn't want to be the one....I have a myspace but i NEVER use it :P

Myspace broke my computer, literally. It crashed my firefox 100% of the time attempting to sign up, so I decided,it's for sheep anyway.

I have a facebook because I want to be able to send messages to people on campus whose emails I don't know.

I have an LJ because I have a lot of friends on the interweb and keep missing them being online; whenever I have news about my life I post to my (friends-only) journal so everyone can be up to date. Saves money on phone calls.

Hey, now.  I've found MySpace useful for finding old friends.  I located my best friend from elementary school on it and now we're good buddies all over again.  And I looked up my ex-boyfriend to discover he finally came out of the closet.  MySpace has it's uses.

I've got one of those. I don't know if he's come out of the closet or not, but I know he needs to.

That would be annoying. I already deal with the myspace craze at school. Don't wanna deal with it anymore. I mean i really like PMBD and i like to stay  on top of things with the site. So if there was a myspace people would start posting and sh*t on there and then I'd have to get myspace to post my 2cents and I don't wanna get invovled with myspace.  In conclusion =| Myspace is Evil

I have a myspace profile, but I always forget my log-in info.
I haven't updated it since I made it, and I don't plan to.
I find it to be a complete waste of time.
It bored me to pieces, and I'd rather not have old friends contact me.

Myspace isn't all it's cracked up to be, I just use it to keep in contact with some friends and use the blog for photography purposes. I don't like the whole "OMGZ MYSPACE" shit that teenagers seem to obsess over (whoops, I'm 16  :roll: )

Myspace is for stalkers. I got one last year on the insistence of my friends, and then my ex-boyfriend found me and sent me 242468 kazillion messages.
He's probably still sending them, I don't know, I haven't been back since.
It's a magnet for every nutcase and attention whore on the internet.

I was walking home and this 18-year-old girl was trying to teach her mate how to use Myspace. The other girl was like, "how do I leave messages?" and the first girl said, "you click the button that says to leave a message..." I think she was getting a bit exasperated. Hell, I was getting exasperated. It may be sucky to the load of you but at least it's simple to use. I think even my mother could work out how to leave a message on Myspace...or maybe she couldn't, but at least she's not only a little older than me!!! Stupid 18-year-old.

It's just creeps me a little, all these people posting blogs and pictures and everything, and the whole world can see them, even that creepy guy that stares at you on the bus. I have a comicspace account and within a few hours of opening it, I had twenty "friends" who I'd neither met before nor heard of before that.

The whole point to posting blogs and pictures is for people to see them. Networking, communicating, y'know. It's dead useful for keeping up with friends (and that's why places have friends locking and privatizing profiles) and finding like-minded individuals. It's not like sharing one's life to any extent is for everyone, but I'm glad that people do it because it lets me see a far bigger cross section of humanity than I'd get to otherwise.

And some people are attention whores, so it's good for them in that way, although of questionable goodness for the rest of us. :P

The friend whoring is ridiculous, though. I got a MySpace thingy because I wanted to find some old friends, and it's all my little sister and some of my old friends will bloody use (SIGH). It's also come in handy for following two of my favourite bands.

However, the friend requests from TOTALLY random people get massively annoying, and MySpace is the most poorly designed and poorly coded piece of shit I have ever seen. Whoever designed it just stopped learning anything about code developments back in 1998 and shoved chunks of random Javascript and CSS in wherever the hell the felt like it. No damn wonder it throws an error five times out of seven when trying to get anywhere. I utterly loathe it, but I keep one because I'm not going to fall out of contact with my sister for anything, and it's another place to keep a public presence (I have reasons for doing so), so I hold my nose and use it.

Just remember: Every silly, embarrassing thing you do online to 'get back at someone' now will still be around in an archive somewhere in 5-10 years, and it will inevitably surface at a time that it will cause maximum embarrassment to you.

(I am so glad that I didn't have a computer when I was a teenager.)

Well, actually I had an amiga, but there was no internet, so all the stupid and embarassing stuff I did will stay a secret.

Myspace is about whoring. Pure and simple. Groups and businesses and bands use it to attract sheeple, and proceed to advertise on each others' myspaces through the comments page in order to try to get the attention of other sheeple. It's actually quite effective as a promotional tool, if you know how to use it.

Of course, if you use it to promote yourself and you don't have anything particularly worth promoting, you're setting yourself up to deal with the worst set of asshats since Livejournal.

So it goes. Anyhow, it -could- be useful... but Myspace has been deleting a lot of accounts lately, and there's a fair chance that a dedicated paysite affiliate could start up a series of complaints to Myspace to get it pulled:
