Personally, I think it's just the fact that he spams every bit of space available on that site with ads and previews, hoping to get even MORE cash...

I think this post may have been the final straw with them, as regards me.  Just after posting this, I had my account suspended.

I don't have a clue as to why I am banned.  But I didn't take great steps to disguise myself.  It doesn't take a genious to realise I was t2suggas there, and match it up to this username.

It does say when you make an account, that if they know or suspect you of filesharing they will suspend your account without prior notice.

So I was warned.

ETA:  I did send someone a link in a pm, to the TSR booty, because their one download day was nearly up.  

It's also possible they didn't like some of the constructively critical comments I wrote about some of the downloads.

I haven't been given the mighty banhammer yet, oh no, I'm too sneaky.

Or maybe it's because I never post on TSR. Or even go there (other than to look at the pictures of the FA stuff to see what I want to download from the booty).

They never did reply to my support issue asking them to clarify the forum rules, the bit where they state they will reveal our personal info.

I wrote that support issue on the 16 December, and up untill just before I got booted off, there had been no reply.  So there goes the bit where they write back within 72 hours.

TSR is banning people they 'think' might be filesharers!? They can't have any real proof...unless Pescado is sharing info. :) So they banned you because if you post on this forum you 'must' be a filesharer?? I think that is very presumptive of them. For all they know you, me, the next guy may be doing research into human behaviors at the college nearby......blah blah blah. They can't possibly 'KNOW'. What asses they are. Never ass-u-me!

They suspended my account before this forum ever existed, and before I started uploading booty here, based only on Rose's say-so.  Never mind that prior to that I hadn't uploaded TSR stuff, that was someone(s) else entirely.

So yeah, fuck Thomas and his almighty god ways, we don't need 'em and WE GOT ALL THEIR STUFF ANYWAYS!!1111!!1oneoneone

Yeah, them and their lousy business sense. I mean, even Microsoft has more sense than that: They don't ban users who pirate their products, they just hassle you and try to goad you into buying them.

You can't find my name?  Funny, since I have uploads there. :P  Just a couple of neighbourhood terrains though, which are also at mts2.  I only uploaded them because I was a beta tester at the time, and bored, and I wanted to see what the upload process was like (awful).

Back in the days [*insert sigh here*] when i was an impressionable little simmer, i tried to upload a butt ugly dress. Never again. It took me an hour just to work out HOW to upload.

How FA's are selected

I've been asked to clarify how Featured Artists are selected, since a lot of people seem to think it is an automatic process.

FA's are handpicked based on quality, originality and quantity. We try to offer the broadest possible collection of creations for our subscribers and thus we want to make sure we have top notch quality content for all categories: hair, furniture, lots, sims, makeup, meshes etc. When we notice there is a lack of output in a given category we will look among our artists here on TSR first to see if someone is capable of filling that position. Our Select Artists are the first to be reviewed and chosen from.

In rare cases we need to go outside of TSR to find a suitable artist to fill a position, for example when it comes to "specialist" creation types such as hairstyles and meshes. If we have SA's or new Artists here that are top quality in those fields they get the promotion first. But sometimes the quality is not high enough, the creations are not original enough or the output is too low - then we need to recruit outside of TSR. This is historically the exception rather then the rule however.

I hope this gives you a little insight in how we select our Featured Artists, and why some selections may be upsetting to some people while there are logical reasons behind it.

So, BlueSoup no longer exists, but her terrain is still fair game.

I deeply detest TSR uploading system. Once I waited a month and hairstyle I submitted was "Pending". Then I took it down. UGH.

now this is really weird. Bluesoup is not a FA so why are her downloads paid? This is very weird?!  :shock:

The majority of all downloads on TSR are paid.  I know it used to be that every week or so, a certain percentage of items would be free, and then it would change for the next week.  So theoretically, if you hung around long enough, everything you wanted would cycle into "free" and you could get it without a sub.

I don't know if they still do it that way or not.  I haven't really seen anything I wanted to download there in ages.  The one exception is cheap starter houses.  For when I'm lazy or filling up a neighborhood with characters that I don't really think I'll play much.

Huh, I've just downloaded it, so it's not a pay download. TSR turned into "a free website except for the good stuff, i.e. FA & RA" a month ago or something.

Yes! My mistake, it's not pay (phew), it requires login to download, but not money.
