I was searching for some new things for my simmies today when I came across the ugliest site.  I don't know why this person even bothers.  The site layout is hurtful to the eyes and the clothes are repulsive.

Even my grandmother wouldn't be caught dead in these ugly things.  Someone needs to tell this poor person to stop wasting their time.  What the hell is this? Fur on the bottom of a dress???  And what's up with the boots?  :shock:

I don't understand what is with these people making their sims walk like their torsos are about to break.  It seems like everyone these days are taking pictures of sims "walking sexy" for their sites.  It shifts the clothes to make them look so un-natural and it makes the sims look like someone set fire to their asses.  :lol:

You would think I didn't have enough, so after looking through the casual clothes I had to check the "PRIZES"  :lol: .  What a joke!!!  It's a bird, no it's water, OH NO it's a prize outfit by Doursim  :lol: .  I won't bore you with any more photos because they really are not worth it.  Just wanted to share a laugh with all of you.  :D

Actually I quite like the doursim clothes - not everyone wants their sims to look like whores. I quite like the 80s feel of it.

As for the rings - well, I think that the maxis rings look a little clunky, and like this - it's not as if you zoom in to watch their hands.

Who’s Carla Nivena and Hchangeri??  I just found this site yesterday.  If you were smart enough to look, I’m sure you could tell that my IP address isn’t the same as the above mentioned members.  I just wanted a good laugh and since this is the place where we make fun of sim sites, I figured it was the right place to come.  I had no idea that the person owning Doursim was a member here.  That’s pretty funny actually  :lol: .  You don’t have to agree with my post.  I was entertained though.  You gotta admit, they are funny looking.

Also, I don't think Doursim is awful.  I use a couple of things from there.

No one doubted it wouldnt look like it does in the pics...its the fact that they look like something a beginning 10 year old simmer made while playing around with photoshop for the first time, the fact that she has the audacity to charge $15 a month for that, and her "i am so much better than you" attitude that causes people not to like her. Nah. The way I look at sims content is this: if someone is making content I think is awful or terrible, but it's free, I don't say anything bad about them unless I am asked for my opinion. People are entitled to make the worst rubbish ever and offer it for free, and that's their prerogative. It isn't merchandise at that point, its a gift. If you don't want it, then don't use it.

However, once the item is pay, then I view it as merchandise and I will comment on how bad it is all I want. After all, if a company put shoddy, ugly clothing out in stores, people would badmouth it all day long. Thats what you get for selling crap.

Doursim's clothes aren't my style, personally, so I didn't do more than skim the site when I first went there. But! Thanks to this Beck person, I went on a downloading spree of those cute accessories. Yay, cute free stuff!  :P

The style of the clothing isn't relevant; different people like different things. Heck I bet there are many who dislike my style of clothing  :lol:  But Dour's stuff is well done, and I didn't actually know about the site till now, so one good thing came out of this thread  8)

It isn't relevant to say this, but Doursims is pretty nice in my opinion.

But carlabeckandrew (carlbendrew?) is trying to take it out on other sites, because he/she/it knows he/she/it makes CRAPPY CRAP

If andrew/carla/beck/Danielle (schizophrenia anyone?)wanted to ruin my site he/she/it certainly chose the wrong places to do it.  

I think that he/she/it just needed to lash out, and my site is an easier target than say... Nouks.  If he/she/it had started a thread about Nouk everyone would have just laughed, rolled eyes, and no one would have posted.   I don't think that he/she/it really wanted to cause any damage to my site, they just wanted me to read it, and have it hurt my feelings.

I actually think I know why this post was made.  It's a response to the "Carla Niven must be destroyed" thread, and Andrew/Beck/Carla/ TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsPrince either wanted to redirect our scorn to another site (fat chance!) or was testing us to see whether we would take the bait.  The conclusions he/she should draw from this:
-people who make decent stuff and offer it for free are more popular than people who charge for shit (who'da thunk it :roll:)
-we aren't mean-spirited fucks, we are discerning consumers. Our rage towards CN is not at his/her lack of talent, but at his audacity to CHARGE for his creations.
-the regulars on this forum are generally intelligent and mature enough to form reasoned opinions (such as "I'm not a big fan of the style of these skins, but I'd agree that they are well-made") instead of "ZOMG!!!!!!11111oneone that SUX ROX d00ds..."

Finally, I think the overall (perhaps subconscious) reason for this thread was to create some drama.  Clearly it failed.  The strongest emotions riled have been amusement and contempt, and instead of vitriolic flaming sparked this incredibly boring dissertation by a college student that clearly should have been assigned more work over the holidays.
