As for Aleesha, she oversharpens and she photoskins unrealisticly (?). Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: Quinctia on 2006 December 18, 07:39:07 A perfectly legal, valid copy of Photoshop Elements came with my tablet. I don't have it installed, though I suppose that counts enough as Photoshop. You shouldn't need anything more than that to recolor, certainly.

Some of us are smart. NONE of us are chavs. My software is free, as could be anyone's who does a diligent search. I do believe Plum stated it well. Edit: I have never known a single person to have paid for Photoshop, and I know many who possess it. Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: ... on 2006 December 18, 10:35:01 Quote from: ".torque." Who the hell pays for Photoshop these days? You americans are fucking rich... Anyone who does professional graphical work. One can get in actual legal trouble for doing work for pay (not whiny ass sim paysite owners, actual artists) with a pirated piece of software. I use GIMP because for my purposes (dabbling around with fixing skins and making the occasional website graphics) it works brilliantly, and it doesn't hog my entire damn system like photochop does. Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: Marhis on 2006 December 18, 10:44:36 I bought Photoshop because I'm against piracy as a principle and a way of life; maybe it's stupid, but I feel better this way (yes, warm and fuzzy inside :D )
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: torque on 2006 December 18, 11:11:11 I wuv my Photoshop. *squeezes it* Gimp was too confusing for me, too many windows and junk. And Paint shop pro ain't as good as Photoshop.
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: jesserocket on 2006 December 18, 11:51:13 I like Gimp...and PaintShop Pro...but then, I don't do anything overly artistic, at the moment , MS Paint suits me just fine...
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: anelca on 2006 December 18, 12:36:04 i don't do anything remotely artistic...i simply don't have the talent for it.
didn't stop me not paying a penny for my copies of Photoshop and PaintShop Pro in the vain hope artistic talent came with them it doesn't :( Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: redisenchanted on 2006 December 18, 13:46:53 I use paint.net, it's free. Wahoo, another paint.net fan, I absolutely love that programme. Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: torque on 2006 December 18, 14:34:26 I'm "artistic", but I can't create anything for simmies because my graphics card is the shit. Integrated Unichrome Pro chip. Very pixely graphics. :x I had a shitty nvidea one before, but my current one is the worst.
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: Doursim on 2006 December 18, 14:46:01 well, i didn't STEAL my copy. My sister bought CS for school and I just have zone alarm to keep it from realizing that its been installed on 2 computers. I don't really agree that you can't share software within a household... but that is just me. Now that we don't live together it wouldn't be quite so "sharey-sharey" but that's another issue.
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: Moose on 2006 December 18, 15:21:06 I've got Paint Shop Pro X (because I'm a poor college student, and because a combination of the sims and Photoshop would kill my computer dead), and it works really great for all of the things I need it to do. Sure, I can't do selective coloring and I don't have the healing brush, but if one's creative enough they can work around those limitations. And if I get desperate enough, I can always email myself the file and open it up on a school computer--all of which are equipped with PS.
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: yamikuronue on 2006 December 18, 18:47:45 My mom paid for it, but she got a student discount and a studen license when she was in college and then just.. kept it. (she went back to school, wasn't THAT long ago). I use the elements that came with my computer for now, don't need anything too fancy
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: PirateBooty on 2006 December 18, 19:24:08 I hate how a simple photoshop image can end up being over 300k saved as jpg but doing the same thing in paintshop ends up with a ~75k image

Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: Pescado on 2006 December 19, 06:24:26 MSPAINT also resizes fine. All my (crappy) graphics work is done in MSPAINT. All custom graphics from this site are either made in, or graffiti'ed crudely on in, MSPAINT.

Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: harlequingirls on 2006 December 19, 13:27:43 2 out of 3 JPEGs saved in Photoshop turn out corupted for me.
That's why I love PSP... though I save images in best quality there, then open and save them again in IrfanView with higher compression. I find it has a fairly better output than PSP, just my taste... Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: PirateBooty on 2006 December 19, 17:40:17 Quote from: ".torque." You can lower the quality a bit, not much difference and the filesize will go down. Yeah I know about lowering the quality, but some images they're stupid on. I had to lower it so much there were jpg artifacts but when I gave up and just did what I was doing in paintshop instead it still looked great at a fraction of the file size :P Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: torque on 2006 December 19, 18:12:33 Don't know. I've never had problems with Photoshop myself. And I'm not saying this "because I am an artist who thinks everything besides photoshop is crap". I'm not.
Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: Quinctia on 2006 December 19, 21:12:55 It may really depend on the version of Photoshop and Paintshop, also.
I had Photoshop 6 on my old computer and it had a really useful "save for web" function where I could compare and contrast my current work file vs. up to three different compression methods. I could tweak percentages or file type and all of that. So, on that computer, I would always save Paintshop projects as .psd files and compress them to jpg, gif, or png in Photoshop. I think I accidentally changed some of the settings because it didn't use to be that way. I figured out what was causing it and was able to fix it! yay! Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: liegenschonheit on 2006 December 21, 04:52:06 I love my Photoshop CS2. It is a perfectly legal copy that came bundled in a package of Adobe goodies with Creative Suite. I didn't pay for it, but it was given to me under a license bought by a company, it's registered and everything. So clearly, I should be charging for my sims content since it was made on legal software.
But yeah, previous to this, my Photoshop 7.0 and CS were totally pirated. Arr. Wait, what was this thread about again? Oh yeah, sheeple. They suck. Title: Stupid sheeple Post by: lemmiwinks on 2006 December 21, 05:29:15 Your paysite sucks too!
