I did realize a while ago that they definitely did not make their own shit but I NEVER expected something that I made three years ago be on their website and posted as by "Eweline". Maybe it was because I didn't think my stuff was worth stealing and I did used to work for a certain "chic" sim site (*ducks) but the owner has taken down most of my stuff due to my quitting creating for the sims but there plain as day in their FRICKING banner was my outfit the blue one all the way to right. Also its up for download skin 7 on the right hand tower of stolen stuff. Ok you guys at least post who the stuff is made by and I did used to have a issue with it but Ive gotten over since then. I dont even know what to think and I dont even know how they got access to the download because i have no idea which site I had put it on....I guess I just wanted to bitch....I would not have cared if they had just said it wasnt made by them or my name or something!! that outfit toke me 6 hours to make...yea i suck

They don't look the same to me. I think you're just imagining it. Besides, it's hardly the most original design.

Ok. You are totally overreacting.

First, she never claimed to have made the item, it is simply included with a sim that is available for download. It is common practice to include CC that was made by other creators in a packaged sim. I do agree that she ought to have posted credits for all of the CC that is packaged with her sims, but I don't think it's a reason to call her a thief. I think a polite message to include credit for your item would go a lot farther than posting that she zomg!stole your stuff. Sims communities that are not in English often have their own set of rules for this kind of thing, and it could be that she just didn't realize she needed to post credits for it.

Second, so what if she used your content in a banner for her site? I think it's just stupid to expect people to credit you every single time they use one of your items in a picture. Please check your ego at the door.

Thirdly, that item was bought and paid for from a pay site. You sold it, so she can do what she likes with it. Please don't come to PMBD whining that someone is using content that you illegally sold in a manner that you don't like.

And fourth, Bluewater Sims or whatever may not be my cup of tea stylistically, but Holly and those other girls do create their own items and meshes. If you don't have some solid proof that they are passing off someone else's work as their own, then don't go around accusing people of stealing. Failing to credit you and assuage your ego is not the same thing as thievery.

It usually takes a lot to piss me off, but I must say that you managed it nicely.

And despite the fact that you are not credited on the main site, I'm sure a small PM or email would clear the issue right up. So instead of getting butthurt on here, why don't you contact someone on the site? I'm sure they're not going to try and bite your head off if you ask for credit. It's not as if they're passing your work off as their own; your mark is still on the texture file, after all.

Anyway, you should be flattered that your stuff is being used on other people's sims, not offended.
And your creation was pay, right? Well then, the folks at Bluewater are within their right to redistrbute your files, seeing as you shouldn't have been charging for those files...

Or a recolor of your outfit without credit? = crappy but contact them first before getting pissed off, might not have been on purpose

I'm assuming they think the text stamp on the item is credit enough, and I'd kind of have to degree. It'd be rude if they claimed they made it, but they don't seem to be doing that, and they haven't removed your stamp.

Overreacting-maybe but back (three years ago)when I had made the outfit (not the mesh) I would have probably been crying so this little rant (Im not yelling or what have you) is not that big a deal to me.

Ps. I dont care about them passing out the download like I said before. I know putting my stuff on a paysite was wrong!! But hell I was 17 and broke !! It was very easy to get roped into it all!!
Needless to say I wouldnt ever make that mistake again.

Now you know how original free creators felt when some paysite ripped off their textures/meshes :) If it bothers you that badly you should just talk to them.... telling everyone here isn't going to help....

On a side note, the whole bit about being 17 made me think of when you watch vh1's where are they now and they talk about how they used to do porn or drugs before they were famous :P

Well I did try to start when I got my new lappy but working 50 hours a week and not having the wonderful photoshop no more...its kinda hard  :P One day I will ;D

GIMP is just as nice as photoshop, and free - a few things work a little differently, but they even have free tutorials too.

This forum is not 13+. This forum is 18+. And Pescado should know. Did you read the FAQ (http://phorum.mustnotbenamed.com/index.php/topic,1104.0.html) or pay attention when you registered? I'm pretty sure that's mentioned in one or both of those things.

I don't think there's any legal precedent set for ages on forums, but if you can find one for me (and one that applies worldwide) I'll be happy to take it back. ;)

US and EU laws, don´t remember where. 13+ see EA UK forums and see lot of minors banned. (they need BOTH parents signed auth)

Well, that's an age requirement set up by a private company/corporation, so it doesn't actually count as a law (by law, I meant specifically something set up by a government to control who may post on and join forums). Rules like that are more likely set up not because there are specific laws for age requirements, but more because the company/companies/forum owners worry that they will be held accountable/responsible for members that get in trouble (e.g. a child who gives out their home address and phone number on a forum to a pedophile, taking flack from parents/consumers about "inappropriate" content, etc.) or contravene other (actual) laws while on the site. There may be rules in some countries (although I don't know any, but I'm not an expert on all countries attempts to control the internet) that have strict guidelines on what their citizens may legally do on forums, but it certainly wouldn't apply worldwide.
