Very, very interesting site.
Though a little hard to navigate, I personally did a search through google.
It has a lot of "pay" items for free,  some of them not even in our booty. I, for example, found updated AnoeskaB files.
Here we have old, bad working version. Maybe we can update booty with their files?

It looks great - is wonderful for an Asian crowd. I applaud their efforts!

From our perspective, It's actually going to be HARDER to fill in our few gaps with this site, as it's not organized by FA. We're going to be better off doing what we do, which is spot checking and having helpers send us the occasional list. As near as we can tell, barring the newest FA and this week's content, we're missing maybe 30 pay sets, which is a pretty good record, considering there are over 16,000 pay sets/lots/meshes.

As much as it's hard to compare between our booty to theirs, it is fairly simple to find a specific set

So if someone doesn't find something here, or wants later update, which I often don't find here, can go and look in Asia  :P

Blackcat I'm sure they aren't cleaning the files, so it's download and install at your own risk. It's safer to wait for the booty gods to clean the files and then put them in your game. Patience is a virtue ;) nobody knows what an accumulation of that crap Tomass is putting in the files will do to your game.

Well, I didn't know about this spyware problem, thanx for a warning.
I just hope, it will be possible to fetch some files directly from there, instead risking subscribers, that so willingly share with us.
Then clean, rinse and ready to use  :D

I just ran it through Google language tools so it's all in English now, and it is notably awesome.  They have the Xander stuff that hasn't made it to the English booty yet!  Woo!

Mmm. Habitat43 has some kind of watermark on their stuff, I guess. That's what someone said, atleast.
It may be that the asian site gets stuff first, but don't forget about safety. I'd rather wait until I know it's all good and in the booty than compromise the original sharer.

Well I know using Ad-aware, I believe will help get rid of the spyware, but yes, download at your own safety.

But paysite crap sucks anyhow (and you can get maxis-match stuff for free). The only stuff I've downloaded from the booty was the stuff for the booty pageant, and I deleted that stuff immediately after I packaged my fuggin sim. I'd rather use free site stuff because some of the creators policies on free sites are very lenient about sharing or including as long as proper credit is given. There's a bind when you download from paysites, you can't include anything in your lots or on sims. So I say SCREW THAT.

Anyway, this site is a very cool find. It's nice to know that the good work of pirates is being carried out for Simmers who speak/write other languages. It makes me wonder how many other undiscovered booties there may be out there.

I think I'll stick with our booty, however, even for items we might not have yet, since I know for a fact that our wonderful staff makes sure everything is safe for our computers. Besides, it looks like our booty is a little more comprehensive (although I can't say for sure, as I haven't seen much of it yet). I'll certainly browse around, though. Personally, I see no reason to honor paysite owners' wishes when it comes to their stuff. They have no license over their crap. EAxis does, and EAxis is CC-share friendly. Free creators are another thing.

Heh, very interesting find indeed. Being a Korean myself, it's sooo refreshing to find fileshare-friendly Korean site for a change.

The biggest Korean Sims community is out and out pro-paysite. It's sickening to see some 12s asking for help in translating English instructions of Paypal to register their mommy's credit card. ::) Or paying via their cell phone, for most Korean teenagers own a cell phone, and it's so much easier than asking their mommy for permission.

If I ever mentioned PMBD in that site, I'd be ostracized on the spot.
After the recent drama in which the owner of said community Souped, making the entire community with over 270000 members read-only, the new community is now run by one of EA Korea employee. Ugh.

In the FAQ section, the owner of this Asian Booty site said that he/she may not be able to add TSR files anymore, as his/her subscription will expire shortly. That post was dated 2008/03/24.

Too bad that you need an Empas account to post requests, which I do not have. (And I'm not going to, Korean portal sites are TEH EVIL which are required by some 1984-esque local law to ask Korean equivalent of Social Security number just for registering. >:()

...and people don't just lie? Who'd be daft enough to post such sensitive information to the Internet for everyone to see? There's no possible way they could validate this information without either connecting to some central (and probably frequently crashed) server, or comparing locally for some checksum. And if that information is public knowledge, keygens similarly exist.

You CAN'T lie, as the said portal sites check the authenticity of information against the DB supplied by credit information companies. I used to lie (using the keygen) all the time, until the law was bolstered to force portal sites to check the authenticity. Now I just don't bother with them. I said it was 1984-esque.

Doesn't this make it untenable for most other sites to use this system, since most websites WOULDN'T have that kind of resource or coding ability? I would imagine such information just floating around the network is a goldmine for identity thieves. All you have to do is set up a site, and the moment a user registers, you steal all their info.

The law is only applied to about 30-50 big sites with over a half million hits per day. Korean people tend to flock to just a few big portals (Naver and Daum) which literally rake money from ads. Those sites can very well take the blunt.

Do you guys know that FF has a plug in that will translate the whole page with a click?  It's not exact but I use it a lot and it does a reasonably good job. There's a pretty good library of languages and a choice of translators that will open pages either in a new tab or window, whichever you want.

This is the one I use. It just gives you an automatic translation, from a variety of services you can choose from. As with most automatic translators there are errors, usually in grammatical structure and phraseology. However, it gives you basic access to sites you would otherwise have no idea how to navigate.

It works fine for me with 3.0. It puts a button on your tool bar with all your choices listed.

If you download anything from this site be sure to rename the 'unknown' file into what it says its called on the page, then i should unzip correctly. This only happens to files with spaces in the name. But this seems to fix most things.

Any other tips for getting files to work/open correctly?

I downloaded the Sims 2 Heaven Azure set from the asian booty site, because for some reason the PMBD booty one never had the makeup in it which was what I was after, but the asian booty file wouldn't open  ::). Darn it.

Wish I was more clever with all things computer wise so I could figure it out  :'(.

The makeup from the Azure set (the blush, lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner and even eyebrows) are indeed in the booty file. Within the azure rar they are all found in the makeup folder.

Bugger. I must be getting blind in my old age. Will have to download it again, it takes a long ass time on crappy dial up lol, best I open my eyes properly this time eh.

For anyone interested, here is a little guide to use built-in search engine inside Asian Booty site.

1. Scroll down to the bottom of page. You'll find this box in the left frame.

Don't change the default setting of the dropdown box, it's already set "inside this blog only".
Enter keyword (or exact phrase) in the search box and press grey "search" button.

The built-in search function kinda sucks. You have to enter only one keyword, or exact phrase to get the desired result.
E.g. if the topic title is Xandher > Casanova Hair Collection
"Xandher" "Casanova" "Casanova Hair" (without quotation marks) will work, but "Xandher Casanova" won't.


2. Search results will be displayed like this.

Korean sites are notorious for utter disregard of cross-browser compatibility, which I hate with a passion.
File names with spaces will be mangled in most non-IE browsers when you click to download.
Copy the entire filename (including extension) to the clipboard. Click to download, and paste the filename into the Save as... box.

7z.00x files can only be opened with 7zip. Other file archivers like WinRAR may not be able to open them properly.

So that's why it didn't open... i downloaded an 7z.001 file and couldn't get it to work. *passes rum and cookies to lord darcy* :D

@ Jojoba - yep something was definitely wonky, must be my ancient dial up internet connection or something. Le sigh.
Anyway a lovely, kind, helpful person sent me the files I was after. And he knows who he is *rum and cookies for all*  :).

@ Lord Darcy - yeah I had even downloaded and tried to unzip with the 7zip program, it still wouldn't work. I think I will just stick with the PMBD booty from now on. The other just seems to add more work to the mix and who needs more work when it comes to a computer game  ::) :D.

Looks like the site owner was having some trouble with paysite stuff. (Like receiving legal threats from paysite owners? It is unclear from the post.)

Not everyone can take the abuse Pescado. And really, an English site "doing it too" linked to DMBD is not going to give them much leeway.

It's not even clear whether the owner actually received threats or not. The owner only vaguely said that something is bothering him/her.
