With every email she sends out, my rage burns even brighter.  It's atrocious a grown woman is acting like this.. spamming this huge guilt trip to pay for her hobby.  This is not new.  How many times has she sent similar emails like this one?  People should start reporting her emails as a phishing scam because that is exactly what it is.



What she means is, "8,000 of you were gullible enough to give me your email address so I can spam you relentlessly about not giving me money.  Where is my money for these gifts I'm making you pay for?  Isn't my lowered-but-still-overpriced-items-because-you-shouldn't-be-paying-for-them-anyway objects good enough for you?  I'm going to take all my toys home and go home if you don't pay!!  WHERE IS MY MONEY, BITCHES?!"

Perversely, I'd rather have her keep enough paying customers to stay an independent pay site  than go over to TSR. Of course the best thing would be if she went free, but she's been in this game a long time.  The bigger TSR gets, the harder it will be for EA to shut them down. They're already in bed together, although it's hard to tell who's on top. :roll:

She already blamed us in an oblique, roundabout way, complaining about her lost revenue. It is killmark-grade.

If you notice in that email she also starts making people give their email addresses for the free stuff so she can start spamming more people!

She's been shamelessly begging since the Sims 1 days. That's how long I've been getting these types of emails from her. So, considering she never closed down before when she sent out this kind of email I doubt she will this time. I'm with Hecubus - I think she'll move to TSR instead.

Before I realised that she'd pulled this stuff before, I sent her an email about wicken nouk.  Naively, I thought that perhaps help would make it easier for her to keep her site going.  Silly, silly me!

Surely if she closed her free section, there would be no inducement to buy without trying.  They don't keep it open out of kindness - but to lure customers to get the rest of the set.  More fool her if she closes it - she'll substantially reduce customers and be the only total paysite (hope I'm right) in existence.  :?

I think that excuse she gave is such bullshit: if it's not a space or traffic issue, why on earth would the free section need to be closed?

If she's all about finding cheaper hosting so she doesn't have to beg customers to "donate" (read: buy) her other shit, then it would make sense to close her "donation" section (paysite-area) and join up with a freehost.

But, of course, this would defeat her whole purpose on trying to suck money out of the Sims 2 community.  Whatever amount of money she gets out of her pity-cry-filled donation scam is more money than she'd get from being part of a free site group.

Also, Calalily is 100% right - paysites need that free section, however crappy it might be, so people can see if they like their crap enough to buy it (so how does Peggy get customers?).  If I ever saw a 100% paysite, I'd never go there again and not even download their junk from the booty.  It could be totally borked or have a million polys for all anyone knows.

*scratching head* How does the "processor/hard power" impact her hosting bills? I've several accounts and domains with hosting companies (shared and not) and the rates vary according to traffic and space... And why does the free part needs much of that "power" and the paid doesn't? As in quantity?

Well, I will say that you have to be family (ick) or very close friend before you can read any of my stuff. I mean, you can go to my page, listen to my music and view the comments and see the pics, but my blogs are for the most part friend list only and some are set to private. I have been thinking about putting the same kind of lock on my photo albums, though, because I've got some of my artwork there that I don't want some asshole claiming to have drawn.

To tell you the truth, I'd prefer strangers to read my online fanfic rather than friends and family. But I draw the line at putting up photos or a lot of RL info on the net about me.

My old workplace had a brief bio about me on the company website, and I was so upset about it. My only consolations were that it was in my married name and there were no photos. Plus I'm not the only person on the net with my name (thank god for Google!) so I can still hide.  :P

My family would take one look at my fanfic and probably say, "So, you're even weirder than we thought."

I have a MySpace account, mainly because someone in this household needed to see someone's pictures they'd posted, but I can't recall offhand what I named the damn thing or what the password is.

We only have items for the Sims 2, although supposedly there are sites that host things from the original Sims. I think the Sims File Vault would be the best place for you to check for this, however. Enjoy the bottles that will be flung at you and duck out quickly.

Well...you could always start playing Sims 2 and get the booty from here.  I mean, you might as well, seeing as Sims 3 will be out around this time next year.
