I don't know why I never give up... I've tried my hands at hair meshing again.

This hair was originally going to be a tribute to the Ramones but it ended up being a tribute to Svenne Hedlund - N.o 1 teenage idol in Sweden in the 60's - see him in his glory days! (My mother had that record. When I was a kid, my friends and I used to literally roffle at it. We compared the poor guys - not to their advantage - to OUR n.o 1 idols of that time - NKOTB!) (The guy in the top-left corner is Benny Andersson of ABBA, BTW )



Anyway - textures is my weak side but I'm determined to improve (how tempting it may be to steal Nouk's lovely textures... Must. Resist!) So they are not super. Neither is the mesh, but at least it's very low poly (hence the sharp edges here and there  ...)

I don't know what I'm going to do with it - would anyone actually want it (it needs improvement of course - that's why I'm posting!)? Mebbi medieval simmies wants it as well as the odd Swingin' Sixties guy?

Suggestions for improvement welcome!

It looks almost exactly like Guppy's old mesh. It wasn't very good either but it was made in 2005 and was free (I would've posted a picture for comparison but my site seems to be down atm).

Hecubus: I think the house looks fantastic now! I had a vacation 'hood that would've loved to have it, but I trashed it some time ago Must get a new beachy neighbourhood...

Nouk: It's a beautiful, useale style. Looks absolutelt great. As for the curls: I think they are fine as they are  For the record: I rarely care what hair my toddlers and kids have and don't mind if all custom hairs aren't available for all age groups,  but I guess I'm quite alone thinking so, so you have the answer to that question 

Beth: I think the couch looks good as it is. Sure, could use some shading, but I know how hard it is to get it right. I guess it would look nice if the pillows didn't all look exactly the same, but that's how the mesh works, right?

Here's what I've been doing:


My sims paint a lot, and I got tired of the same-old, same-old default paintings and couldn't arse myself to find something nice to paint as still life so I put these together yesterday. This is something that anyone could do, so no worshipping required  , but since the feature to paint "Custom Painting" was introduced with, what, Seasons? and it has taken me until now to dig up some decent pics to use, I figure someone else might be in the same boat.


They are simply .jpg's that should go in your My Docs/EA Games/The Sims 2/Paintings-directory (I think this was introduced with Seasons. Don't know if it's also possible with later expansions). Click on the easel and choose: Paint Custom Painting. Voila! Nice, new artwork to sell or hang up!

Hec: Yes, go for one helluva big .zip, please  I HATE clicking 1,567 individual files and usually don't bother at all. Oh, and the walls look great. Nice and neutral is much needed in my game. I have tons of flowery/paisley/plaid/younameit-walls but usually go with Maxis when I need something more... discrete.

It would be great fun making some Rococo clothing since I love everything 18th century, especially the later period, and I'm sure I will some day. Pehaps when I get bored with my Regency neighbourhood (and I always get bored, eventually  )
