You forgot the fact that the mirror doesn't even fit into the frame. The bottom you can see through the design.

Nope, oolongteadrinker saw that (unless she/he just edited his/her oversight really quickly Cheesy). Oooog, I'm too slow!

Also, what's with the white graininess around the image? You usually get that ugly white border with low quality animated gif files, especially viewable on any non-white setting.

The "white graniness" is more than likely due to poorly painted alphas combined with using a white/beige background in the working file instead of one coloured to match the metal (and yes, alphas that look like this are a true mark of laziness in my opinion).

Thanks for the first part as well as answering my question. Learn something new everyday, huh?
Considering my past couple posts, this image from reflex's site made me a little angry.

Confirmation? It confirms nothing.
for emphasis:

notice something WONKY about the image that's not apparent in the TINY "screenshot" reflex used?

from reflex's amertania set

Again with the "gif.file" type white edges. Obviously, these objects were only ever meant to go on pristine white walls with the sims ligh and shadow settings disabled. I couldn't find any larger pics of the bowls, but I guess I know the reason why.

It's a darn shame that the mesh I used didn't have a proper fat morph... Embarrassed I preferred it over the Maxis nude mesh, me no like the wasp-like waistline. I torched the thread and am now fixing the misaligned strap alphas and textures - thank goodness nothing else needs fixing. In the meanwhile I wish to post these silky, slinky sleepwear slips. Tongue I went overboard with the recolours.

Wow Bruno, I love those! Those seriously would be the first pj's I have ever downloaded that didn't have pants... I can't wait Smiley

Yeah I preferred the mesh you used for the swimsuits over maxis as well. Although the rear end did look funny but eh. I can't wait for the fixed version Smiley

*gasp* I read page 1-40, and then realised I had no time to post so gave up. All this stuff is so damn gorgeous Tongue
Bruno: I love-love-LOVE your swimsuits.

Seriously. Bruno and Adele make some of the best hair, clothing, -- everything. I can't even pick a category. (sorry for my fangirlisms).

I even have a mod that makes some of bruno's makeup and genetics into defaults. They make even the ugly sims look decent.

(die, goopy, die!)

Umm where is this mod and why don't I have it? I already have the one that replaces the base game lipsticks with hers, but what else? I would love to know.
There's a mod to replace the ugly maxis eyeshadows with Bruno's. Also the uggo eyes with his. You already know about the lipsticks.

The hardest part is choosing which one. They're all lovely.

*pout* If there is a war on fuchsia can I haz a ceasefire called? I LIKE fuchsia. Although I don't find much for sims in fuchsia that looks decent.
Only in the cases where it's an actual fuchsia plant. Probably one made by boog. I imagine those would be safe.

Now I wanna see if something like that exists.

Maybe they helped themselves to the bubbly BEFORE the party, and that's why that hair looks so awful.
That would explain a lot.

Eye opening pics, please post more when you can.

Or you know, you could.  This isn't Millie's job.

I'm feeling inspired to post some of the reflex decor-shit  I bitched about earlier.
Which means I'm gonna have to redownload it. But its for a good cause.
233  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Photoshop shopped! on: 2008 September 24, 23:30:17
YAY! thank you Millie. You do realize you're enabling what could be a new addiction for me?

As for the set, that site seems REALLY fond of using gradients. Have gradient effects ever been cool? Must've missed the memo.

234  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Free Content Pwns Paysite Crap on: 2008 September 24, 22:52:43
this thread is just about the most reliable online comedy I've encountered in ages.

What is that "Celebration" hair celebrating, exactly? Weird, sandpaper textured hair and awkward shapes? Bring out the bubbly!
What creeps me out is the weird, perfectly circular highlight on the hair that makes it look like the "power" symbol on a tv remote or an eyeless pac-man

The short hair is GORGEOUS. If I had the right shaped head, I'd totally get that cut.

One set that I drooled over from Reflex was the Ameritania collection. I plotted, I planned, I found the BOOTY! Once I got it in game, I got rid of it fast! I'd also gotten some of the bathrooms as well, and they too, went out via the delete button. They bled through the walls like all hell and while I did keep the floors and maybe one of the walls, none of the rest of it was worth the headache that I got from seeing it in game. Good idea for this thread, Millie, you're a sweetie to put that fug in and show us what sins can be covered with clever photoshopping.

In total agreement. I drooled over reflexcrap until I saw it in game. But the editing on the pics is amazing. Methinks their talent lies in photoshop effects rather than object creation. Which is a shame. That person might be able to edit Cameron Diaz to make her look pretty.

) just to find out that it bled through walls/had weird grid schemes (like a three tile desk or a wall mirror that would hang 1 grid away from the wall at all occasions)
ahahahaha! You get what you pay for right? Wait, no! That's not right! Payshit indeed.
Thanks to this site, we get to see the work "warts and all". What a bait n' switch they're all trying to pull. You think something's good and see that it's ugly in game. But by then, it's like 'haha. I mean, oops. Well, you paid for it already. NO REFUNDS!"
236  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Free Content Pwns Paysite Crap on: 2008 September 24, 21:31:04
You know, that ugly TSR dance outfit could be turned into a really cute exercise set with a little mesh work and some texture details. The sleeves look painted on but it isn't that hard to find a T-shirt top for sleeves, and the bottoms could be turned into cute little shorts. It might need a T-shirt hem mesh too. There'd have to be a few other adjustments, like shadows at the hems. I can so see it though. (and yes, I love fushia.  Tongue )

You just described almost a complete overhaul. If something needs a complete overhaul to look good--- well,
I'd like to see that, actually. If you do it, could you post the results?

As promised, here is our comparison thread - what the creators SAY it looks like, and what it actually looks like, in game

Scrummy, eh?

So, whilst not TRULY fugly, it is nowhere near what they show you on the site.

Ugh. The first post. That's reflexsims, right? When I first discovered this site, I was under the delusion that paystuff was superior. No basis for that belief, other than the assumption that money makes everything magically better.

So I go into a shitstorm of downloading, and can't wait to get all the stuff in game. Imagine how perplexed-- perplexed I was when I saw how shitty it was in game.

I had to delete almost everything. I was the MOST let down by the reflexsims stuff. OH, that stuff is beautiful---- ON THE REFLEX SITE ONLY.

Oh, and in game, the decor has weird white, pixelated borders on everything too.
(I'm still bitter, obviously).

The good news is that my game runs so much better after deleting all the peggy/murano/reflex/ and rosecrap.
Please post more of these!!! LOVE!
239  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Habitat43 News! Sharing Information! on: 2008 September 24, 00:23:12
I wonder if this issue isn't entirely due to MONIES!!! but rather that pay content really IS inferior much of the time?

When I learned about the booty, I admit I downloaded a LOTof the files.

Not because I really wanted them.
Not because I needed them.
Something for free is a good thing, right?

WRONG!
Once I saw them in the game, a lot of it was downright fugly. Bad textures, bleeding, and whatnot. Just all around piss poor. So I had to painstakingly delete almost all of it, one by one, because who can bother to remember filenames of all their downloads?

Yeah, they lose some money through booty, but the greatest thing about this place is how it exposes the lack of quality certain sites want you to THINK they have.

IMHO, none of them are on par with creators like Adele, Bruno, Nouk, (and a vast majority of MTS2, for that matter). I once thought that if you paid for some bench or kitchen set it was the best.

The delusion is gone from my mind. May it never return.

Really, the misers are just afraid that others will see the man behind the curtain, too.
