The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Not sure if this is the right spot for it buuuut:

You guys are crazy nutters, aren't you? It is amazing how something as insignificant as a game can seem so overwhelmingly important sometimes. I think that's an easy trap to fall into though.
I don't know Aikea Guinea personally, so I have no comments to make about her as far as how nice or not she is. One thing that has annoyed me though is the constant "Hey, look at this. Isn't it pretty? WELL YOU CAN'T HAVE IT SO DON'T EVEN ASK!!!" thing.

I love my Photoshop CS2. It is a perfectly legal copy that came bundled in a package of Adobe goodies with Creative Suite. I didn't pay for it, but it was given to me under a license bought by a company, it's registered and everything. So clearly, I should be charging for my sims content since it was made on legal software.
But yeah, previous to this, my Photoshop 7.0 and CS were totally pirated.
Arr.
Wait, what was this thread about again? Oh yeah, sheeple. They suck.

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Ugliest Sim Site-Doursim

Nah. The way I look at sims content is this: if someone is making content I think is awful or terrible, but it's free, I don't say anything bad about them unless I am asked for my opinion. People are entitled to make the worst rubbish ever and offer it for free, and that's their prerogative. It isn't merchandise at that point, its a gift. If you don't want it, then don't use it.
However, once the item is pay, then I view it as merchandise and I will comment on how bad it is all I want. After all, if a company put shoddy, ugly clothing out in stores, people would badmouth it all day long. Thats what you get for selling crap.

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / How much does bandwith cost and how much could they be using

Re: Godaddy, I've been using them for quite some time now, they hosted my domain even before i was really using it for anything more substantial than a place to host shit. I have to say, I've never had any problems with them at all. I've had less downtime with them than I have at any other hosting provider, and the only issues I've had with slow speed turned out to be due to a user error (meaning I fucked it up).
Basically, Godaddy is fairly inexpensive, and it works. It doesn't have all the neat user tools that other hosts I've used featured, but I didn't really use those much anyway, I pretty much use FTP alone to get things done. It works for me.

That's not the same as Sims Vault is it? Because that is where LyricLee is moderating these days.
Bahahaha...heh... Okay, I think I'm done. Wait, nope...heheheh. Okay. I'm done, for real. Nope, they are not even remotely the same. As far as I know, SFV was around before Sims Vault ever started. In fact, Exnem, the owner of that site, has been trying unsucessfully to get SFV closed down for ages. The idea that they could be the same, despite simmilar names, is just funny.

Where is Kathy when you need her?

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / just random thoughts

I think I have an idea who Blue is, I may have been the person (under a psudonym) who directed him/her here. If so, welcome and no worries, I won't be tattling any time soon ^_^
Not everyone who posts here shares exactly the same interests and concerns. There are some here who are really only here for the booty and witty banter. There are others who support the cause but refuse on moral grounds to touch the booty. There are those that don't like the cause but can't look away from the train wreck. And of course, not everyone is interested in the gossip, though others find it fascinating. Basically, this place sprang up as a kind of pirate-y catch all, a place where people gather to poke fun at eachother and paysites.

Anyone who doesn't know what a critical hit is, has never played a RTS game, or who watches "Desperate Housewives" for the thrilling subplots should leave immediately!
Agreed! I'm sure Pescado will be happy to lead the Inquisition and Gamer Cleansing.

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Carla Niven must be destroyed!

The "sexy walk" has been thoroughly abused. It used to be kind of ammusing to see my romance sims puff themselves up and go sauntering over to flirt, especially when they got shot down.
Now every freaking person has their models do it, and it is just annoying.

even worse, she's used the beg/plead animation, making the model in the background have her eyes closed and her mouth hanging open in a weird imitation of an orgasm. This picture is clearly very sexual, whether Carla Niven intended it to be or not.
And yes, that does look an awful lot like the head of a penis.

I posted mine on Fanfiction.net. I got insane amounts of fangirl attention too, for writing a story that didn't completely center around yaoi sex, but didn't fail to include it either. It was actually kind of fun ^_^
