Fallin_Angel...you have 292 eyes! Yoou know i was astonsished at that then i saw that Paden had 999! I did read that right yeah? How do you find what youre looking for? It must take hours just to choose the eyes you want for a Sim!

313 actually (plus defaults) - 292 that I just downloaded today. And that's exactly the problem. I can't find the ones I want with that many eyes, which is why I now need to go in and whittle down the list. Otherwise I keep using the same few over and over again, even if they're not my favourites, because 300+ eyes is a lot to scroll through.

Regardless of whether this is the first time or regular practice, it's not something worth praising them for. I recently had a piece of almost-new equipment malfunction in the theatre where I work. It was nothing I could fix, so I sent it back to the supplier who took a look at it, couldn't find the problem either, and so have sent it on to the manufacturer on the other side of the continent. All of this at no cost to me. While I appreciate the fact that I didn't have to fight to get them to do this, I'm not going to stand on the rooftop singing their praises either. They sold me something, it was faulty, they're fixing it. That's just how it's supposed to go.

TSR sold their subscribers a service which was unusable/unavailable for a significant amount of time. Giving these subscribers make-up days isn't being nice - not doing so would be stealing. Thanking them is like thanking the schoolyard bully for not beating you up and taking your lunch money. Grrr!

(I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I had to let off some steam apparently.)

Anyways, back on topic, Shady has another set of the awesome eyes.

I would just like to say:

Damn you, Paden!!!!

292 new eyes in my downloads folder, and it's all your fault! Do you have any idea how long it's going to take to sort through all those?

(But they're so pretty, so I forgive you. Wink )

I also think it's the side of the lamp.  It looks like Dot just really zoomed in on the left edge to show her "detail", but it's still really ugly.

If so, it's got to be from a really weird angle (like, from the corner), because you can tell from the 'Glass', 'Shape' and 'Brass' images that the metal doesn't cover the bottom the lamp. It forms an inverted "L" shape, not a "C" shape.

Just to clarify what i originally said... I know British does not equal English, that is so obvious! As being English is part of being British, it makes my statement, the use of 'therefore', true. It doesn't stae that British equates English at all and does not mean that English is the only consequence of being British.

I don't want to start a thing here, but you did actually say that British equals English even if it was unintentional. Your original statement was:

I'm British, therefore i am English.

The only way to interpret that statement is to mean all British people are English.

This might be a bit clearer with an unrelated example:

"I am human, therefore I am a mammal."
vs.
"I am a mammal, therefore I am human."

The first sentence indicates that all humans are mammals, which is true. The second indicates that all mammals are human, which is definitely not true.

Again, I'm not trying to pick a fight here, and I'm certainly not trying to be the Grammar Ploice, but this is one of those cases where improper usage completely changes your meaning so I thought I'd point it out.

Detail, in this case, appears to be the letter "C". Undecided Am I missing something? What exactly is that a detail of? I can't see anything on the lamp that looks like that.

Free birds such as cardinals, swallows and robins I've got no problem with.

A robin chased me down an alley when I was seven or eight six, dive-bombing my head the whole way. (In fairness, it all started with me walking over to take a peek at it's chick which was sitting on the lid of a garbage can. I didn't touch it or anything - didn't get anywhere near close enough!)

And seagulls are evil bastards. I've seen them team up to steal hot dogs and such from unsuspecting tourists. One will fly straight towards the person, and when he or she raises an arm to ward off the apparently attacking bird, another will swoop in snatch the food out of their other hand! Occasionally there will be a third one as well, presumably to dive in if things go wrong. The result of which is signs like this all around our public market. Grin

Birds and I do not get along.  I find birds creepy.  When I first read that the theory of birds having evolved from dinosaurs, my reaction was, "yeah, that makes sense."  I always got the feeling birds know they came from creatures who were once on top of the food chain and they still haven't gotten over being dropped from that status.

I worked his show at the Fringe Festival here a couple of years ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find a video of this bit.

I think it sounds totally plausible. Just because we've done the math, it doesn't mean the sheeple have. And remember that there are a lot of them that never venture out into the big bad world outside the cult confines of TSR... except for occasionally to the Exchange. I imaging convincing them that TSR needs more money is only slightly harder than convincing them that Chaz's sims are the shit.

They'd be so much better with SHAPE!
The jelly roll lamp has shape, and the Wan lamp has shapex3! I thought a few of the others do too, but on close inspection they have shade, not shape. I need to read up on my 2009 Lamp Law so I can stop being so confused. I totally couldn't figure out what those white things on the tops of all the lamps were supposed to be. Roll Eyes

I'm glad she's still putting white text over the white lampshades, though, so you have no idea what she's trying to tell you. For some reason that makes me all warm and fuzzy. Or is that the rum?

Yuck! I hate the I-took-a-giant-dump-in-my-pants look even when it's isn't payshit!

If Atwa did fall for Thomass, then our course of action is of course clear. Pescado must seduce this woman and turn her over to our side. There is no other way.
We should make a poll, If Pescado seduced Atwat, who would you feel sorry for?... Pescado, Atwat or Obama? I've a feeling Obama will win. Grin

If his wife isn't on board then definitely Pescado. She'd kill him with her Thumbs of Doom! On the other hand, at least he'd be out of his misery.

So, maybe the secret is sexual.  Again, making out might not be a big deal to many people, but it might be to Thomas's wife.  Maybe he's cheated before and she's forgiven him, but as a results she's a lot less understanding of any contact he makes with women, and thus would flip OUT over this.

Or, maybe she knows something about TSR, the business end, that she's holding over his head.  I don't know, but I don't think he keeps her around for any sense of loyalty or because she made life easier for him, because she didn't.

My vote's for the second one, only because the threat of Anita telling Thomas's wife that they had some kind of physical relationship doesn't seem real to me... even if they did! I mean, the woman's clearly bat-shit crazy, and even if she comes off as perfectly sane in person all he'd have to do is show his wife a small portion of her manipulation and rambling to make her see Anita's true colours. Secondly, without ragging on her looks too much, she's not exactly the kind of person who most people would consider a physical threat. The only way this would work would be if there was some sort of photographic/video evidence, and the thought of that makes me sick to my stomach so I'm stubbornly refusing to believe that any such thing could possibly exist.

If it is something business-related, though, it would have to be something huge! (ie. illegal) Keeping her around when she was just causing some grumblings is one thing, but she's been directly responsible for the loss of some of TSR's biggest money-makers (Aikea_Guinea and Gelydh for example), and according to Coconut's blog they're on the verge of another wave. He's have to be unbelievably delusional to think that keeping her around makes any kind of business sense. And it has to be more than just a TSR-reputation deal. I can't imagine there's anything she could let out that's worse than what Coconut has revealed, and if they can discredit Coconut in the eyes of the sheeple, they can certainly discredit Anita. (Again, people already know she's crazy and it's only too easy to educate the ignorant.) So it's got to be something bigger than worrying about TSR losing money, because keeping her around/bringing her back is one of the major causes of that.

Ultimately, I don't have any great theories about what exactly it could be, but I hope it comes to light. Because it's got to be huge, and in this community huge means OMG Dramaz!!!!11!!!!1! and I do love the dramaz. Grin

Jeebus, some even make the lips look dry, bare and matte. (where some skintones fail to cover)

Really? They all look shiny to me. Which set has matte lips? (My game has a desperate need for more natural-looking lips.)

I never heard of the term "souping" until I came here.

That's because the original souping happened here. Read this thread if you're interested in a history lesson. (Cala's post sums it up nicely - with pictures.)
