HOORAY!
She reminds me of a serial admin I knew, in her late 20's, on a board which was mostly populated by teenagers, and thus had to have a 'family' atmosphere, no-one was allowed to be mean, swearing and general naughtiness and hostility was strictly prohibited...UNLESS someone had something to say about this one admin. Then she would fucking kick off, baring all the darkness of her soul, for example, a friend of mine, a 14-year-old girl wasn't acting in a way this admin felt was 'age appropriate', when my friend objected, and tried to put across her view, of what she felt was appropriate for her age, this admin told her that, in that case, she hoped my friend got raped, to show her the consequences of not acting appropriate for her age. My friend then made a rather hotheaded, rude comment to the admin, off the board, found herself banned, and all these other members, who had formerly adored her, and conducted themselves rather as her friends, turned on her, leapt to the admin's side, and congratulated themselves on getting rid of my friend, and the admin's smart actions and soothing her poor hurt (I'M BIPOLAR LIEK OMG PITYME!!11) feelings. It was at that point, myself, and the few remaining people with any sense, quit that board, which proceeded to implode, and become entirely shite... The only reason the oh-so-loved admin, who, incidentally, everyone loved badmouthing, off the board, was still flushed with power, was because she was showbiz pals with the site owner, and that was the only reason she was allowed to continue the way she was, with foolish little brown-nosers all around her...
I know I've said all e-drama is the same, but this sounds so eerily familiar I wonder if I don't know you from that board. Then again, I have a knack for inciting revolutions and your description of the destruction of this place doesn't QUITE match up to the degree of damage done during a previous exploit, but then that was a joint venture anyway. I'll just ask this: was this board video game-related?

Why am I getting a Livejournal vibe? I'm sure you all know the wonders of people pretending to be something they are on the internet (i.e the whole Donna from Eyecandy thing) I did not hear of this. What happened?

If people actually download from that site I think it would only be appropriate for creators to stage at least one day of "pay for everything". Granted I don't think that anyone would / should pay but it's the idea of all the sites banding together to show support for those who've been robbed. I didn't think anyone would be able to top that "download spree to kill Pescado's bandwidth" plan in terms of stupidity. How the hell does this make ANY SENSE?

But that would unlikely happen as my friend believes the copyright belongs to EA who have the big nasty legal team. These paysites are living on borrowed time. If EA ever decided to come down on them it would be ugly. I've seen Disney do it to artists who paint or draw Disney characters. *coughKingdomHeartscough* And in those cases the artists may or may not be profiting from their work (unless one counts e-cred as profit). Disney is royal bitch of a corporation and a pretty extreme example of this. If/When EA does crack down on this, it'll be hysterical. Hopefully they don't decide to rape the entire modding community in one go because that would make baby Jesus cry.

I'm one of those people who enjoy getting socks, towels, blankets, etc. And office supplies. You can never have too much of that stuff.

Not even I, who has paid for all sorts of sketchy looking shit, want to pay for her stuff.
This. There is simply no way around the fact that everything on that site is horrible (yes, I changed my mind and looked. Nothing will stop the pain). I'd be surprised if more than 5 people are currently subscribed that aren't close friends. Of course... a friend would tell you when your stuff looks like crap... wouldn't they?

MTS2 seems successful and unkilled, and LyricLee seems to at least manage to restrain her outbursts to the much smaller live chat and largely off-topic S2C subsite, at any rate. And who doesn't dodge reality? We're here because we play video games. Is that not a reality dodge right there? Because let's face it, reality is overrated. Oh, I have no doubts MTS2 will be around for a rather long time, but I was saying I've seen this phenomenon be the primary cause of death to various sites. And "reality dodge" to a point. Becoming active in an online community means involving oneself with real people and their associated issues. The 'reality' I was referring to is a situation in which one/several people in a group cause problems for the whole - in this case, LL's behavior isn't good for the S2C's name and has to be irritating to the rest of the moderating team because of collective blame. The 'dodge' is the fact that Delphy seems to feel this is acceptable and productive in some way. I hope that made more sense. I'm not good at expressing things like this. : / Edit: Actually, the first post by "nectere" (I think) demonstrates how I feel about this. Edit 2: in the dramafest document thingy. I personally find the idea of children starving to death amusing. It always gives me a chuckle to imagine some paysite owner's screaming spawn starving to death from the loss in revenue I might be causing. That just makes me feel all tingly inside, and would make me sleep like a baby if I actually did that entire "sleep" thing, but frankly, I hate sleep, so I don't. Can't agree with you there. I love sleep. : P

.... Fact is, I made Lyric an admin on both sites for a reason - becuase she does *far* more than anybody else in maintaining them and in generally keeping the sites running. You just don't personally like her, so you attack the decision, however the staff at MTS2 *and* S2C support the decision and, ultimately, what *you* think means nothing. So, sure, you can attack the decision but we both know it's just becuase you don't like her personally, you are just too much of a coward to admit it.
It seems like this is the stock excuse for a shitty administrator (chosen by the site owner) on any forum that has anything to do with gaming, ever. I have seriously seen something in this format roughly 20 times so far. The site owner always seems to have a case of Avoidant Personality Disorder and attempts to dodge reality in every possible way. Even if it kills their site. No, it doesn't make sense. I don't know these people personally, but in all honesty, this is crap. They're both old acquaintances and Lyric has the position purely due to preferential treatment. And so it will remain until she relinquishes that position. Blech. Now I remember why I never post on MTS2/S2C beyond comments pertaining directly to downloads, and even then, there's drama. Always the stupid whiny 11-year-old drama. But these people are usually adults. Anyway, I need to say no to posting at 4am. But to be perfectly honest, if she's using paysite money to support children, maybe the lack of money will be proper incentive to get a real goddamn job and, even better, stop breeding for the good of humanity. Because if this is just a small sampling of her greatness, than she's not doing anyone any favors by spawning. Just... ew.
