271  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / For just US$2.50 at Rose Sims... on: 2006 November 12, 02:27:04
I think it only works if the sim has another custom hair.

Just the same, I've had pay-hair files that crashed Bodyshop and lagged CAS until I managed to remove them. It seems that, while payhair is often nice-looking, the free stuff is of higher quality overall. But that's just my opinion on the matter.

Edit: It's the hair before the current one. The shiny updo thingy. I didn't see the update until now.

Oh lawd.

Actually, I've seen worse. There's a pay outfit by Peggy that, if you also have the newest female hair downloaded, will superimpose itself over the current hair on the sim while leaving that hair mostly visible. How this could possibly happen is beyond me.

If I can get it to happen again, I'll take screens.

Hooooly shit this has gotten intense.

Why do so many of these paysite owners have obvious mental deficiencies?

AHHHHHHH GODDAMNIT.

I was worried about falling asleep at the keyboard before finishing this crap for school but I'm awake now. It's one thing to charge for Sims stuff to meet personal expenses but OH GOD.
276  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Why do people pay for some of this stuff? on: 2006 November 07, 11:38:08
Dunno. I've noticed a lot of things look fine in previews but when I get them in my game, I want to scream in horror.

I'd call Photoshop on this, but the same thing happens to me and free stuff as well.

This probably explains why I've only ever subscribed to three sites (two of which, I promptly lost the files after my sub was up in a fiery computer accident). I HATE wasting money, so I'm very discerning (read: obsessive) when it comes to stuff I'll actually pay for. Hell, even with the existence of this place, I'd be willing to donate to sites that consistently produce quality stuff as a "thank you" gesture. [/end mini-rant]

Anyway, that doesn't explain why there are probably a couple people out there who have paid for, say, Carla Niven stuff in the past and now need therapy.

I know the content has been removed but the main page is still there with the ads.  So . . .
I emailed Google and sent them a copy of a portion of HChangeri's tirade.  I received a reply stating that to uphold their quality and reputation they would look into the matter.

We'll see.

Hahaha, wow. I didn't even think of that.  Shocked

This thread made me laugh too hard earlier to be able to properly express my feelings on the subject so I'll do that now!

Credit Schmedit. Wow, some faceless person connected to the internet knows that someone by the handle of 'Moondoggy' made that dress they downloaded. Yep, that's some real fame for you.

The issue, I contend, is still the same. Manipulation. Pulling a file or a site down punishing the whole community to try and manipulate them into attacking a person or site. It's childish and obnoxious.

"Fame" is a subjective concept. These people are so needy and pathetic that they'll take it in any form they can get it. Negative feedback for their behavior just spurs them on, so it's likely she's eating this thread up. Also, It's like a rule of the internet that x amount of attention whores must be present at all times. This includes anything from camwhores to people like HChangrala or whatever her name is. The percentage varies depending on what you're dealing with.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Sims 2 fandom has a disproportionate amount of asinine individuals within it. I don't know whether it's the fact that this game has a tendency to attract incredibly stupid people or the core group of 'tards in the community are so loud and obnoxious that you can't miss them so it SEEMS as if their numbers are large when they're not. Whatever. Either way, it's quality entertainment.

Especially when one of the aforementioned morons tries to muffle the sound of their own mental frailty by quoting, of all people, Ayn Rand. Lolwaffles.

1."Here is my completely insane and barely comprehensible tirade."

2."I will paint it over to look as if I have taken some high moral ground and am a martyr to some unusual self-imposed and imaginary cause."

3."I will now become mindlessly pretentious and reference the Holy Mother of Non-Intellects as if this somehow proves I have character and masks the fact that I just took a massive shit on the internet."

As you can see, the only way this person differs from LyricLee is in step three.

OH GOD SO TEMPTING.

Just because I know it wouldn't be seen for a good while.

http://www.sims2wiki.info/LyricLee haha you can't see me

There's like... nothing there. Have at it.

In my world, cheese is an independent food group.

Well, I'd edit her sims2wiki article to reflect what we've all learned here, but I'm horrendously lazy and not feeling up to my normal standards of asshattery.

Hooray!

An pseudo-intellectual, certifiably insane, mediocre content-producing paysite owner with a hacker husband employed by the US government?

This whole thread is made of lulz.
284  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / For Lyriclee on: 2006 November 06, 03:27:32
Huh, that's unusual. I halfway expected her to throw a huge self-righteous hissy over being de-admined. Or perhaps she willingly left. Fuck knows.

Either way, lulz-a-plenty.

Ugh, dramawhores like this should all be killed. Solve the overpopulation problem in one go.
