1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Not sure if this is the right spot for it buuuut: on: 2006 December 23, 00:39:25
I want to know too!  And if people think this is a waste then stop reading. Good God. Are we only allowed to talk about what the people who usually spam this forum talk about?  :!:

You should make a set of those walls by alternating the colors and then submit them to TSR.  And we'll give you the best comments too! Then you can make a set of plain walls to match and I bet TSR would take them too.

Great hairs by the way. When I saw them I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. Your textures looked way better than some I've seen.

Don't kid yourself you did come here to judge. Your entire post is your assessment of this forum, its members, and how it should operate. You made some valid points and you made some derogatory comments, which is fine with me. I’d rather read a post like yours that seems to have some thought put into because it makes me think.
4  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / EA: All Your Mesh Are Belong To Us on: 2006 November 08, 00:54:41
I think EA always intended stuff to be shared. It was the "creators" who didn't want their items shared on the Exchange because they didn't feel like they were being credited. Even though when you look at the list of custom content it shows the creator's name if there is one. At least for BodyShop and Homecrafter stuff. Objects is a different story I guess.

I never understood why someone would get bent out for shape when one of their walls or floors showed up in a house at the Exchange when all they did was take an image from the internet and turn it into a wall with Homecrafter. Credit for what? Right -clicking?

I'd say that a majority of the things being sold for donations are pretty bad and not worth the amount charged or the bandwidth used to distribute them - especially object sets. I seriously doubt that much of this stuff will actually end up in anyone's game for longer than it takes to look at it and be awed by the lack of craftsmanship.

In a way this is providing a public service so that people can look before they buy - kind of like in real life.

What I suspect will happen next is that some creators will begin making special secret sets for their special friends. That will be followed by images of these secret items being posted in pictures because those people can't wait to show off and announce that these items are "not available" which then starts a frenzy of it own.

Ah, the drama.
