Title: Question about TSR
Post by: pinksmoke on 2007 September 25, 09:19:08
If I'm not wrong, TSR was pay back in the TS1 days, was it not? Then now all TS1 items are free. Does that mean when TS3 comes out, all TS2 items will be free?

Also, I wasn't sure whether this should go in to the main thread- the 'TSR IS A SUCK-ASS SUCKY WEBSITE'.

Yah TSR is such a Sucky Ass Site that it's better to keep it all in one thread.

To answer your question, I doubt that the Sims 2 stuff will be free until Sims 3 has been out a couple of years.  Sims 2 is more popular than Sims 1.  Thomass isn't going to let go of that cash cow until he's making as much money with Sims 3.

That's my opinion.

Thanks. I thought I wouldn't get an answer before it got sharkbaited or before I got a 'RTFM'.

Your welcome.  :D   You'll probably get more opinions.  Sharkbait isn't all that bad.  There are some good threads in there.

To answer the question, TSR had a rotation system in Sims 1 days. If you were patient, you could get everything for free. I think it was in Nov of 06 that they went fully pay at Neptune Suzy's urging.

If they can. I'm still holding onto a little hope that Wright's new setup for custom content will put a stop to the feasibility of paysites.

And this proves that our sweet little Suzy is a farking little bitch. Sorry to make such an obvious statement, but I'm still kind of fuming over the little ring-around-the-rosy she played here with all of us who were willing to give her a chance. Obnoxious twat, and she's not even teutonic, is she?

Someone needs to post that lovely pic all over the Exchange and TSR. So people can see how they're being baited and lured to take out subscriptions.

I'm glad I stopped going on TSR. Very tempted to post that pic on the exchange, but I stupidly use the same user name everywhere, so it may not be a good idea.
Interestingly, I actually used to have some free NeptuneSuzy hair I got from TSR, but got rid of it after reading about what a lovely person she was

Hm. Change it to a recolor of a picture (3 dogs & an olive is 3 tiles floor-to-ceiling) or to wallpaper. Upload a lot of houses with it included. Make sure to add a note with the booty link.

You might be able to covert a few, but you will still have the loudest of the twelve year old sheeple screaming, "ZOMG! U sooooooo Photoshopped that!!!"

He's working on a game called Spore, which will have some sort of new improved CC sharing feature that will (possibly) make having a paysite impossible.

Spore will be released sometimes in 2030, judging by the way they have moved the release date forwards several times. ;)

Yeah...wasn't Spore supposed to come out last year at one point?
It's starting to sound like the Maxis version of Chinese Democracy.

So? Just because some won't believe it doesn't mean that it's not worth trying.

Pizza_Dude, necromancy is bad, m'kay?

SamanthaS, I think he was saying that he posted the link on GameFaqs and atleast 10,000 people have seen it. Don't think it adds anything to the (once dead) conversation...
